  1. My current documents about Online Check In state: " guests who have not completed their online check-In forms at 3 days prior to their vacation start date are required to complete the Check-In process at the pier at least 2 hours prior to the departure time noted on their cruise documents." Getting photos loaded can be a real challenge sometimes. this statement on page two of our reservations form makes me feel better. Just bring your reservation confirmation form NCL if all else fails checking in online.
  2. The afternoon Haven "snacks" usually for us are a waste unfortunately. We taste a little, but know dinner is only a few hours away and after having lunch, just too much. Have asked the Butler NO chocolate covered strawberries, but they come from somewhere and are wasted also. the canopies are our favorite, have asked Butler just to bring them, but of course get so much more. Hate waste, so very fortunate to have these "problems"
  3. The Haven "Observation" Lounge on Deck 17 did not have entertainment, the "Observation Lounge" non haven, on deck 15 did have entertainment for a few hours nightly. Must not have the correct references to the two different Observation lounges correct. Hope this helps. In fact on both Bliss Haven cruises, the OB Lounge at night was pretty much empty, with low lights and a nice quiet spot
  4. Have been on the Bliss twice in the Haven, there was no entertainment in the Observation Lounge. Also have been with friends in March on the Bliss non haven, the non-haven observation lounge did have some good piano music, singers.
  5. Thanks, I am inquiring about the actual cost of the cruise fare, if both in same cabin get the 15 percent off each of their fares.
  6. Both husband and I have the exact status , my account shows the 10 and 15 percent discounts available. Does anyone have experience with getting both members booking a cruise being able to get the discounts? I am asking because in the past, the NCL rep has only given my discount?? Just wondering if anyone actually got discount for two on the same reservation. Getting actual experience/information, is sometimes Beter than what I get on the phone, thanks ( we both have latitude numbers
  7. Yes, many years ago NCL did offer a "brunch". and there was music provided. I think maybe the Star also, so long ago. But indeed it was available for an upcharge.
  8. very glad you had no problems, just a heads up to let cruisers know clothes are not washed in cold water, even if requested.
  9. Great!! some clothes are sensitive hot water and high heat.
  10. Be careful what you send out in the laundry bag. remember clothes washed and dried in hot water and dried on high heat setting.
  11. Have the same sentiment as roger001!!! We are Diamond on NCL, reminiscing about the good ole days, nothing comparable to what it is now. We have been on 19 day cruises with different entertainment in the Main theatre every night, this was on Jewell Class Ships. (sigh) went with 2 other couples in April on the Bliss, everyone had already seen the two shows available. We all went once to the lame Comedy Show, that was it for entertainment. Obviously loyal NCL cruisers, BUT like everything else times have changed, so sad. Use to be just getting onboard was a luxury. And yes we go with a positive attitude obviously or wouldn't go, . New cruisers will not experience the let down, but us old fogies sure have!
  12. Cabins near the elevator bank I think are the best choice. No waking through the long hallways. Never ever heard any noise from the elevator area.
  13. Wish I could, did not save fliers, even if I did would not know how to post it. Sorry. But i will guarantee you for what's it worth, this has happened, so be it. Also to OP, we drop off our carry ons in our cabin after boarding. Never been a problem. Just put them in there, if we see room steward say, just dropping off, out of here until room is ready. Know this is probably not acceptable to some, but we have figured out away for less stress. If you ever get on a cruise without your luggage, especially a really expensive one, you may understand my OCD!! Everyone has their own unique way of travelling. Jut mine!
  14. On cruises 10 days or less we only take carry ons, plane and Ship. our comfort Zone. On last 5 cruises, always have gotten a "flier" has anyone seen this baggage? Obviously did not make it onto the Ship or lost somewhere. It really isn't in my opinion a hassle to take a plane size roller board and a back pack on. Everybody has their own way of doing boarding. Just our experience.
  15. The Food Republic on the Bliss March this year; ordering was done through a "tablet" on the table. Not my style at all. Our waiter was beyond kind and helped us out. great food. But not my style of dining , especially on a what I consider an indulgent vacation>
  16. Yes possible, but you will need to make prior arrangements with Ship personal. friends in January took off luggage in Melbourne Australia, gifts for family that lived there. they were continuing the cruise back to New Zealand. Restrictions were high, but eventually got it done. Europe I think is less restrictive about what can come into country. Hope this helps. If just clothes, should be doable.i
  17. Call and ask, it may be possible if you are way before final payment
  18. WE were with 2 other couples, 6 of us, on the Bliss Mexican Riveria Cruise March26 , 7 day cruise. we all used the Observation Lounge as our get together space, sometimes crowded, but we all were able to get seating together day and night, our go to Place. we enjoyed the snacks very much and drinks were awesome, service was great. so, each their own but the Bliss Observation Lounge was great for all of us. This cruise we all were all in club balcony suites, same deck as observation lounge. Only 2 to a room. Would never ever travel with more than 2 in any room, unless a true suite with very extra space for an additional person. Have been in the Haven on the Bliss, and will do that experience again.
  19. Believe me, you can wear basic outfits many times over, toiletries and med bag a must, walking shoes and exercise clothes a must for me, but only one outfit, rinse out and hang in bathroom if necessary. Use your walking shoes for excursions, save your 2 pairs of sandals for onboard dinners. black slacks, one dress, 3 fancy tops and 4 daytime tops, plus two pair of shorts will do you fine. Been on 25 at least cruises. If you are not flying, go for bringing alot of clothes but if flying only take one carry on roller board and a back pack. Always bring them onboard the Ship, no worries about luggage getting delays or lost, even at the Port. Know you are thinking I am nuts, but wearing the same outfits multiple times will save you stress packing, and no one will ever remember if you wore the same thing 9 nights. Be kind to yourself and under pack, Oh yes underwear a must, but doesn't take up too much room, and easily washable in the shower. Really understand your dilemma, been there many times, have a packing list now, for all the items like chargers, sunglasses, make up, etc, just check them off as I put them in the bag. good luck and enjoy vacation.
  20. Great you enjoyed!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Guess I am spoiled from days past.
  21. In yester years cruising was the ultimate experience, imo. The overall experience was one to be pampered, eat very well and back then it was pay as you drink experience. remember coming off with a healthy balance due to indulging. Yes I know it is two decades later and we still cruise. The Haven does meet the expectations of the past, but must say if not able to indulge in that luxury, the todays Ships are like coach in an airplane. Are Diamond on NCL, love the Haven experience, but like most other accommodations even land wise, cutbacks are here to stay. We tip, but do not feel it is our responsibility to supplement the crew wages, tipping is for services that go the extra mile.
  22. On our last cruise a month ago from San Pedro on the Bliss, no one was checking check in times. if you have an early check in time show up with your daughter, I truly don't think there will a problem. check in times are trying to control crowding at the Pier. But situations differ. We actually prefer check in time about 1130, it seems like passengers by then are moving instead of sitting and sitting or standing in the terminal. Just my opinion
  23. Prices started out I think about $118.00 minus tip for 4. We were 4 old fogies doing a maybe last hoorah trip and splurged for the fancy ride to San Pedro. $$$ but nice ride. When you google executive car service, several come up, the one we used and very helpful for questions I had is 800 878 1995
  24. This was from years ago, now it seems you have to cancel and then rebook to a get a reduction. At that time you called, asked for the lower price, you got it, no rebooking involved. Realize times have changed. All done with a call to NCL direct. This was maybe 4 years ago. But dating myself many years ago I could call multiple times and got a lower amount each time a cruise dropped in price, no rebooking, would just get a revised statement with the lower price before final payment. Times have changed for sure. It was a no hassle about rebooking and losing the room you wanted not available.
