  1. We will be in Costa Maya on July 13. Is the Seaside still scheduled to be in port on July 13? Thanks for any help.
  2. I would LOVE to be wrong. I hope you know something that I do not.
  3. This is from Cruisemapper: I checked each ship when I initially saw the scheule, but did not check it today.
  4. From my research, this seems to be the case.I read that there is only room for 4 ships. If true, will one ship have to tender? Anyone been here with 5 ships in port?
  5. Oh my goodness, I use Galveston web cams every Sunday to take a look at MY ship. Never used the awesome SkyCam before. Thanks for your post! I am so glad that I dug through older threads for information.
  6. Thanks for asking your questions. I am a planner, too. Hope your cruise is going/went well. Update how the drop off went when and if you are able.
  7. I am a tired puppy after one cruising week. 🙂 I hope you guys have an amazing cruise(s). It sounds fantastic.
  8. Thank you for the post. We sailed on Ovation last June and our first port was Sitka. We were able to dock, but I was worried for a bit and always wondered what happened.
  9. As far as Oasis class, I have sailed Harmony and Allure. I can't speak to the newest ships, but I enjoyed both of these. We will be sailing on Allure again soon. On my Allure cruise last summer, the state rooms seemed dated. Other than that, she was great. The solarium was very nice since it includes a pool and the one in Harmony did not. And I am happy they have not "updated" Mama Mia and changed the show. It was fantastic.
  10. We sailed Allure last summer to the ABC islands. Our cabin was on the port side of the ship. I had studied trip reports and pictures and hoped we would be able to see the dock from our cabin. But unfortunately, that didn't happen at either Aruba or Curacao. We sail her again from Galveston in a few weeks with a cabin on the starboard side. I have been watching the Galveston Marina Cam every Sunday. Most of the time, our future cabin faces the cruise terminal. But there have been exceptions. We also sailed on Ovation to Alaska last summer. That class of ship was new to me and I did enjoy it. But if I were to sail from Florida to the ABCs again, I would choose an Oasis class if given the choice. I could be off base, but Allure seemed to be a better ship for warm weather. Ovation was perfect for Alaska with the exception of being to big to sail in certain areas. The bottom line though, I would love either class and I loved the ABC cruise.
  11. Lioness, thank you so very much for your posts!! We were on Allure in a balcony last August. In a few weeks, we will be in the suite next to yours. You have helped so much. How far in advance should we arrive for Mama Mia? In August, we lined up super early and waited for the doors to open. We didn't have the reserve section, of course. So, looking forward to arriving later this trip. Thanks again!!
  12. Where do I purchase the Cactus stuff? Will be in Roatan in a few weeks. Thanks!
  13. I feel your pain! I was an idiot many years ago. This was even post 911. DH and I were at the airport checking in for a flight to Cancun. My sister was watching our kids and this was my first time to ever leave them. Pull out my Passport to show to the airline counter agent. Expired! I am such a world travler - ha ha. The agent sent me to "see that person sitting by the window?" The person by the window was just sitting on a regular airport seat. She looked at my passport and maybe something else. It was so long ago I don't even remember. She issued me an "affadavit." Off we went to Mexico. I was freaked out the whole trip worried that I would not be let back into the country. But all went well when we returned. Every once in a while when I am not even traveling, I will freak out and tear into the files to be sure my passport is up to date. You are not alone! I am usually so obsessive about travel documents and everything else in life. But not that time.
  14. I agree with you. After the promo footage, I was disappointed. It didn't seem to be the right fit for me. My college age kids will leave the nest sooner or later. The family focused areas seemed to be in the prime spots.
  15. Thank you so much! I had forgotten to follow that thread and might have missed the post. I hope your upcoming cruise is fantastic.
  16. Our cruise is not until July. There are only 5 excursions offered at the moment and Chaccchoben is not one of them. I was wondering if Chacchoben was a currently a choice. I will be traveling with my Mom and only wish to do a ship sponsered excursion in Mexico.
  17. Unfortunately, their website says that they will not be open June 2023-August 2023. Our cruise is in July. Thanks for the idea.
  18. What types of excursions were you offered? I was hoping for one to one of the ruins. We don't sail until July. So we may be in for a long wait to see what shows up on the planner.
  19. Thank you for this information. I am particular about a few things and soda is one of them. I usually drink Coke Zero, but will drink fountain/fountain gun Diet Coke. Canned/bottled Diet Coke is a no go. We were also on Allure last summer and I know I am able to get Coke Zero at the Free Style machines. I'd hate to go into Coke Zero withdraw.😉
  20. Thank you for the thread! We really enjoyed Sky Class last summer on Ovation and booked Sky Class on Allure just days ago. Your timing was great for me! The staff took great care of us on Ovation. I hope you love Sky Class as much as we did.
  21. We will be Sky Class on Allure in July. I am wondering if the soda is from a fountain or bottle? Just trying to decide if I should get the soda package.
  22. Our cruise was back in mid July and lots of fun. After the morning excursion, I ended up staying on the ship with my Mom and enjoyed the quiet Solarium in the afternoon. I had two excursions the next day, so just relaxed that afternoon. I live in a town/suburbs where your car is like an appendage. Public transportation is usually not even an option. New and different experiences can be a little intimidating. Also, many years ago, I lived in the Caribbean and islands are not immune to crime. It is good to be aware. Finally, my family and I have been victims of crimes. Although we do not live life in fear, the terrible experiences never totally leave your mind. The things your think only happen to other people may, in fact, happen to you. I live my best life and part of that is doing my homework. Mom and I are headed to Europe next summer. So glad to know that we will be able to enjoy public transportation.
