  1. So they just cancel all their cruises because they have no aircraft seats? I don't think so do you?
  2. All these comments about coughing and sneezing make me laugh. I tend to cough in the morning when I've had coffee with milk in it and I often have sneezing fits, possibly 12 sneezes at any one time. I am not ill, don't have a virus. I also suffer sometimes with severe IBS with its obvious symptoms. Ships often cause coughs simply due to the aircon. You can't accuse everyone of having a virus because of these things. As for the handgel, often a complete waste. It's useless for noro and lasts no time at all.
  3. She is taking another person with her who is not already booked.
  4. I see absolutely no point in using hand gel before getting back on the ship. You then hold the handrail, you then put your bag through the scanner, pick it up, then get the lift. What use would the hand gel be? A better place for the gel would be after you have picked up your belongings. Also, that gel is absolutely useless against noro - it's a virus!
  5. Well they can hardly clean every single inch. Noro is rife everywhere at the moment, not just on ships.
  6. Never had a problem with the cabin water. It's the same as anywhere else.
  7. I have never had a problem finding a sunbed on Aurora, although I do tend to sit away from the main pools and usually go forward and up to the next deck. Always somewhere. We also find those queues forming at 5pm absolutely ridiculous, but as we like second sitting anyway, it's only a minor amusement and doesn't affect us at all.
  8. Definitely don't buy currency on board. The rate is a total rip off.
  9. Why? It's entirely possible for the other person not to be infected. In fact it's probably quite often that the other person doesn't have it.
  10. P&O once moved me from my chosen PF mid-forward on D Deck to a "higher" grade mid-aft on A deck. A deck is not an upgrade for me. I would never choose to be up there. They had to move me back as I had booked Select and chosen No Upgrade!
  11. Actually all anyone needs to do, provided they have cruised before is look at their last bill and compare it to the package. Our last bill was £560 for 19 nights. Package over £1200! we have a large glass of wine in the bar and a bottle with dinner. I have the odd coffee. We don't do soft drinks at all, so that might make a difference. I see people at the pools drinking vast quanities of coke etc.
  12. Sorry to hear some of this. The embarkation buffet last October was really good with copious quantities of wine if you wanted it. Also, the comment about being on board 30 minutes after arrival at Mayflower seemed very good to me? The food in the MDr was pretty boring and I'm just glad I don't cruise for the food. I didn't go hungry, but on a couple of occasions, I had 2 starters as roast this and that is not up my street.
  13. Yes I think that's why I don't do excursions!!
  14. I never wear my cruise card round my neck, nor any P&O merchandise, but each to their own.
  15. Go to the lunch, unpack, go to muster station and then relax before hitting the bar at 7pm.
  16. Yes OK got it. So I would be out of time anyway, as I don't get back until 17th October 2025 and it expires 11 January 2026. Will renew April 2025.
  17. The majority of cruisers couldn't climb a flight of stairs as can be seen from the number who use the lift to go down one floor!!
  18. Yes agree, no longer valid in Europe, but must be valid in the UK - as they issued it?
  19. It's OK I will renew in April 2025, but I still don't get what they mean. It says you need 3 months before expiry when returning to UK or leaving Schengen area. So my passport would expire in October 2026 (that includes extension). Arriving in the UK, the extension is valid surely. It's badly worded.
  20. It's OK don't have to do it until I get back from april 2025 cruise, in time for the October 2025, but will definitely do it then.
  21. Yep, you are absolutely right. Hadn't thought of that bit.
  22. Hi 'David. My passport has to have been issued less than 10 years before the start of the cruise which it is. My query is the disembark which says it needs 3 months before it expires.
  23. I have a question. My passport was issued 11 Jan 2016 and expires 11 October 2026 (has the extension) This is the quote from P&O and other websites "The passport must have at least three months left before the date of expiry when you disembark (regardless of whether or not the passport has an extension period)." You can read that 2 ways. It's OK for the extension, or it's notOK? My cruise ends on 21st October 2025. If I take off the extension, I am 5 days short. If you can use the extension, then I'm OK. As I am coming back into the UK, then I assume the extension to my expiry is valid?
  24. Or helicopter evacuation of passenger.
