Depends on what you're looking for. We did Ovation in October. Even though it's round trip out of Seattle, it hits most of the ports Radiance does. We personally loved the colder temps and seeing the snow on the mountain tops contrasted with the fall foliage (which isn't much, no maples just aspen). All the cruise line owned stores and smaller independent shops will have sales cuz they don't want to pack and store the stuff. Whales are gone, but each night you'll have a chance to see the Aurora Borealis. We did do Radiance in 2018 the end of August, once again the whales were gone. The temps weren't as cold as they were in October in Ovation.

I haven't had an upsell after my massage in the last 2 years. But as others have noted, just write "no upsell" on your survey when you check in for your massage. As for the best massage, a gazillion minutes isn't long enough for me! If your DH hasn't had a massage then stick with 50 minutes. You might get an upsell if you do the Salt & Lime scrub or seaweed one. Hot stone massages are more expensive so I'd stick with the basic 50 minute Swedish couples massage. I skip the bamboo or herbal poultice massages too.

no need to fill out special needs forms, we just ask for a sharps container when the cabin steward introduces him/herself. Your room will not get over 80, while DH does keep his insulin in the mini cooler, it's not necessary. You can store insulin at room temperature for up to 2 weeks. He doesn't ask for diabetic meals, he knows what to pick. Royal does put out several sugar free dessert options in WJ and one in the MDR. Know your carbs and get plenty of exercise

When we had the RS, an officer met us in the terminal and walked us onto the ship. He escorted us to the RS even though staterooms weren't available yet. Free suit pressing was offered the first night. There were fresh flowers and a bottle of Moet waiting for us. This was pre-pandemic.
