  1. If you have booked RT transfers, they are for the day of embarkation and the day of disembarkation unless you have also booked Princess hotel reservations. If you want to stay in Southampton pre-cruise, then cancel the arrival transfer and make other plans to get to Southampton. If you want to keep your pre-cruise transfer, then book a hotel near the airport and return to the airport on embarkation day morning to take the Princess transfer. Post cruise Princess can transfer you to either the airport itself and then it is up to you to get to an airport area hotel or to downtown London at a bus station from which you could find you own way to a London hotel.
  2. Slice is only open for a set number of hours each day while room service is open 24 hours.
  3. My Australia based cruise disappeared with the pandemic, so I did not get the chance to do this.
  4. A good TA who shares the group discount will apply it without being asked, As far as I know, a TA may include any category if cabins when they set up a "group".
  5. Had make this post before I saw that post and it was too late to correct it.
  6. You can book a specific cabin using the group rate a TA has. They reserve a class of cabins, but book the specific ones their clients want from that class allocation. Even if you made a direct booking on day 1, you can transfer that booking to a TA and get their group rate discount.
  7. When an agency makes a booking, they get amenity points based on several factors. The agency can use these points to gift OBC, wine, or something else to the customer. Or the agency can use these points to gift themselves more commission.
  8. And some agencies share that discount with the customer and some just keep it to increase their profits.
  9. or 4 people getting $150 each
  10. In addition to what others answered, some airlines will not allow you to reserve seats or buy an upgrade unless you have been ticketed. That is why many people want to get ticketed early. If ticketing requires payment of the airfare, the airfare is no longer flexible and if you cancel you are subject to airline cancellation policies.
  11. Of the person who purchased the Internet package.
  12. Don't blame the TAs. It is basically Princess marketing that says free gratuities, etc. are included with certain pricing. And, of course, the "certain pricing" means purchasing Plus or Premier.
  13. That is the way it shows up in the personalizer
  14. If ordering instead turf & turf (no surf), is there an upcharge for the 2nd turf now?
  15. Ah, great non-use of Medallion information by Princess people.
  16. I find the following from that web site very interesting. "What others have to say about Princess Cruise Lines Princess Cruises has received 1.15 out of 5 stars based on 31 Customer Reviews and a BBB Rating of C-."
  17. Excursions often go up in price between when they are first available and embarkation day. Getting on a waitlist does not mean you get the price it was the day you went on the waitlist.
  18. My report if the land portion of a Princess cruisetour is a few years old, but should give you a good idea of what the land portion is like. Now my tour was what Princess calls a Connoisseur tour. It costs more, but it includes many meals and some excursions besides the wilderness tour. We also did some optional excursions which I assume you would not be doing. I thoroughly agree with georgiacat that you should spend two nights at each lodge. If you only spend one night it means you are traveling every day between lodges which leaves very little time to experience what each location has to offer. (One thing different now is that the train no longer has the seating shown in my photos with some people riding facing the rear and a table between the two rows.)
  19. Princess makes almost all of the desserts from scratch. So the cutback is by Princess and means using recipes that can utilize cheaper ingredients which results in mouth-watering dessert names but taste that disappoints.
  20. Either the contract with the company that designed those desserts ended or a cost reduction effort or a combination of both.
  21. Sounds like the "only available to new bookings" pricing which your TA was willing to put forth the effort for you to get the better pricing. Does present a problem if the original booking was with a non-refundable deposit.
  22. Each time a TA refares to lower pricing, the TA is doing extra work for a lower commission. Good TAs are willing to do this because it makes for satisfied customers who will book with them again in the future. What your TA told you is not correct, at least for refares before the final payment deadline. Of course any refare means you get the Princess amenities (OBC, for example) included with the refare pricing, not the amenities of the original booking.
  23. From the Royal Caribbean stock analysts call this month: "We expect to return to historical load factors in late spring and continue to benefit from a strong pricing environment. We expect to deliver record yields that are 6.75% to 7.75% higher than 2019 with every one of our brands generating positive direct profit this year. Our strong yield growth outlook is driven by the performance of new hardware, a strong pricing environment, especially for Caribbean itineraries, and continued growth from onboard revenue areas. New hardware has been a great differentiator for us, and we are benefiting from the eight ships that joined our fleet since 2019."
  24. Are you sure that the App knows that you are Elite? In any event, call Princess and select the option for help with the app. The person that you finally reach can make the dining reservations for you.
