  1. Yea I was ready to hear about the ship so I agree.
  2. I sailed Equinox and loved the decor. Careful what you wish for as the trend is for more glitzy neon modern which for me is not always pleasing to eye. I love a ship with classic wooden design and tasteful designs but I like more modern colors for carpets.
  3. Go to shore excursion desk on first day. I did Oasis on Oct and Ovation in 2019. Both were great and only difference was on Ovation we got to see the recycle burn area and Oasis we saw a lot of behind scenes of theatre and all the Cats costumes. may not get gifts but get to ask a lots of questions in any area. Officers on bridge are friendly as well as kitchen staff. They explain the various colored clips on neck scarves for chefs and their ranking.
  4. I think that is a good idea to just have it part of the fare. But no the want a base price to lure you in. I would never go and have gratuity reduced as I feel it is tacky to do this.
  5. I am booked for Icon on May 2024 and like any new ship, I go to see and enjoy the ship. I look at artwork and decor. I can dodge what I need to and for me it would be more drunk adults or noisy rude teenagers and also pushy rude people. I think little kids are cute and innocent and get excited and are fun to watch. In fact put me on a ship with a ton of kids under age 11 and sprinkle in some nice well mannered and not drunken adults and I would be quite happy. RCI is doing the right thing by appealing to kids who will be the next generation of travelers down the road. And it was while sailing as a kid with parents that Captain Kate over on Celebrity fell in love with cruising who by the way served on the Harmony with Captain Johnny.
  6. Oh yes the Escape and Bliss were GREAT and best among cruise lines IMHO
  7. Ewww who would find a snake comforting and getting past security too
  8. I had flowers in room on Equinox but I thought it was because I was in Aqua class
  9. No the Op did not mention ant ethnic group just talked about extended family. I think the idea of a venue where folks gather in large numbers was of concern. country music venues gather families as well. If more folks enjoy Latin music and various people of all kinds too, then RCI needs to amp ships to have bigger venue and with doors. A lot of folks enjoy the music but not near other areas that have events because Latin music is louder that a lot of other types. Heck I bet some folks would like to have square dances with callers.
  10. Yes but some ships have lounge areas with doors that shut so music that is loud can stay there. If that many folks want Latin music they should have a lounge that caters to music meant for dance floor as well. Just saying comedy has its own area. me thinks the same if boleros had opera which some would find annoying. the promenade should be for shops and food. And yes the karaoke should have doors too
  11. Ok I guess today is the TA got two days and then on Fri is for world cruise folks. then back to 7days on Sun which I hear has issues with oversold. my what an exciting few weeks for the ship that included the extended 8 day med stop too
  12. Neither should interfere with each other which is my point. Whole dang promenade does not need to hear loud boleros music when it should be enclosed and really a lot bigger room as dance floor is small too
  13. But isn’t the naming ceremony also on Friday?
  14. Ya missed my point. It interferes with half of promenade inc the karaoke across as well as shops etc sorry Boleros needs to be enclosed area as others nearby deserve to enjoy their space too and Boleros should be bigger. NCL has issues with their large atrium where 4to 5 venues all have overlapping noises at it becomes one heck of a time.
  15. Having done 5 Oasis ships this year, I would say Wonder is the best as she is bigger with tiered seating along both sides and enjoyable because of NO wind. nice bistro layout too.
  16. Yes do pay the money and take the tour once in your lifetime and Oasis class is good one to do
  17. Then I would not even bother to bring up if management is too busy to care and needs help solving a problem that is their job to handle
  18. My issue is the venue is too small and in a location that interferes with nearby venues with very loud music. I think the venue needs to be enclosed and bigger because if across in the karaoke place or at pizza area the loud thumping bass just overtakes and drowns out other music or conversation. Especially on Oasis class.
  19. Yes I did one on Oasis in late October this year and got to visit the bridge too. enjoyed seeing behind scenes of stage and costumes too. On Ovation we did not see stage area but got to see the recycle and burn area and that was in 2019.
