Yes you can use it for Gratuities. You can also leave additional gratuities at the end of the cruise by filling out an Gratuity Form obtainable from Guest Relations. I believe all you have to do is write the additional amount on the charge slip they present to you or just tell them you want to leave additional gratuity. In most cases the additional gratuity is split by all the attendants and do not go directly to your attendant.

The new staffing was rather apparent on Silhouette. The bartender in Retreat didn't have a bar back and had to do everything himself which he said was a lot of work. They also had waiters that were being training in Luminae on everything including what silverware to put out with each meal. The Retreat Manager was also a Virgin only coming on 6 weeks before the crossing and had never worked on a cruise ship. His only experience was he had managed a restaurant. It was really apparent and not to the level we have ever experienced before. One of the two concierges had a tendancy of not following through on thighs while the other really experienced on was stellar.

Ahh.. we tested positive on the 1st cruise out of Southampton and it was considered a closed loop and no passport control for any of the passengers. We had to do passport control on the TA. I remember seeing the Suit Manager collect the Passport of the Cabin Next Door who had tested positive on the TA.

Unfortunately not. Once bid rejected you are locked out of further bids.

On Eclipse, captain Leo just mandated masks indoors
Jim_Iain replied to Two Boys Cruising's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Generally it is set at 3%. On the cruises we have been on lately they start announcing covid cases when the are "Slightly over 1%". -
You might find the app helpful. Your cruise will usually be populated about 2 weeks before sailing but you can look at any ship on the app and a current cruise and will be listed under activities. It will also tell you what the show is for each night.

I've only occasionally had my passport taken at check-in. South American and India were the ones I remember most. For our TA to Southampton we never relinquished our passports nor have I ever had it taken or a European crossing. Having said that I am traveling on a U.S. Passport and have seen some residents of certain countries have to relinquish their passports.

May be caused by a perfect storm of events. Talking to staff I was told it is related to a number of issues. 1. Activating Beyond and Eclipse pulling staff from all ships. On Beyond they took the best of the fleet leaving other ships struggling to train new staff 2. Covid and Crew in Isolation 3. Some staff in countries like India are having a hard time getting a visa because of low staffing at the U.S. Embassy.

On our recent cruises the photographers aren't roaming like they use to . They had static setups in a number of places and on the Chic Night the number of stations increased. I don't remember seeing any on port stops as they are not permitted off the ship.

Has Celebrity heard us? Isolation is not so bad after all……

In our case we felt fine and I had tested negative the night before the B2B testing 8 hours later. I was detected in the B2B testing but I understanding that on many cruise B2B testing is only done if required by the destination port country With current protocol it is by self reporting and contact tracing that testing is done. Not sure how Contact Tracing is now done but in our case the Nurse that called asked if we were traveling with another party. Generally the whole connected parties are considered close contact. -

She's looking on schedule on Cruisemapper and currently at 16 knots. I wasn't expecting her to arrive early but looking at the map she looked like a day out and the details on CruiseMapper were incorrect showing the arrival into Kona instead of Vancouver for the destination. -

How far out from your cruise are you offered a move up bid?
Jim_Iain replied to gordylad's topic in Celebrity Cruises
It really varies by the cruise and the number of unsold cabins. I've gotten invites as far out as 45 days and on other did not open 21 days prior to cruise. You don't need an invite. Just go to the link below and put in Reservation number and last name and i open will show you your options. I not option will say come back within 21 days of cruise. https://www.celebritycruises.com/gb/bid-on-cruise-room-upgrade -
They have removed it from the Menu but you can still order one.

Thanks - I looked at CruiseMapper and it shows you pointed to Vancouver. Hope you continue to enjoy your cruise. -
I've seen it a number of times and usually clear up in a day or two. You could also try via computer and see if you get the same.

Edge Transatlantic Testing positive for Covid
Jim_Iain replied to bananavan's topic in Celebrity Cruises
Agree -- All the providers I contacted needed a copy of your Passport and a Positive Covid Test result. I used the one Celebrity gave us and used the Navica tested for Iain's (he tested the day after) So the reality was you either send a copy or you don't get one. The certiicate includes you PP number on it for the Airline to match up on checkin -
I bought my shares way back in time in 1994 at 13.00 per share. I've paid for my shares many time over in credits. When I bought them I accidentally bought 200 shares and happy I never got rid of them.

Thanks for your very informative post. Will be interesting to hear what happens with the second cruise. I tested positive on the day before turn around day but was on the old policy and we were escorted off the ship and I had to setup accommodations, testing etc.
