  1. It’s nice looking ship,I wasn’t thinking of it but I was let down by a friend on a ovation booking. That was the only thing that was reasonable at that time.
  2. In march there’s 6. Night to Tasmania it’s fairly cheap , we got a balcony for $1400 each for 2 .
  3. Thanks Cheryl, I will take my coffee plunger along. I suppose there’s milk in the buffet it’s Edge .
  4. Things are always pretty dynamic with Royal, you don’t really know until you ask, things are constantly changing
  5. Hey Cheryl, does Celebrity have kettles in Australia?
  6. I don’t know sparky ,it’s Royal Caribbean speaks with fork tongue. I believe it’s up to final payment you get a price adjustment and after final (90 days) you get a onboard credit as the difference. I’m pretty confident that their terms
  7. I believe Royal Caribbean and celebrity still have the cruise with confidence program going but who knows. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/aus/en/faq/questions/best-price-guarantee-policy
  8. If you had a casual friend and wanted to take them on a cruise ,just go to the Loyalty ambassador or drop a email ,That easy. If was just for a one off, for the cruise, you can understand. So your friend can be with you but not retain it for life. Now that’s wrong.
  9. It is bad ,no wonder the system is congested. I have emailed crown and anchor to ask if the do retain their tier but I really don’t expect a answer. So if anyone wants to vent their thoughts here’s Courtney Brants email ,if anyone doesn’t know she’s the head of C&A cbrant@rccl.com
  10. It should be something like celebrity where your cabin mate is matched for the cruise ONLY
  11. Doesn’t seem fair to everyone who have put in the time. I thought it had changed over the last 8 months or so .
  12. I tried searching but couldn’t find a clear answer. A friend is D+ and had his girlfriend who was Gold where linked. She become D+ with his points. They split up and he unlinked her . Does she go back to gold with 20 points or does she remain D+ with only 20 points?
  13. Another question ,there’s a couple of things on the planner . A martini thing and an oyster tasting. Has a anyone had experience with these? It says for the whole cruise,is that correct? Is that every day? It seems to good to be true at first glance.
  14. That’s on Brilliance ,last season a lot of the smaller islands where dropped for different reasons. Noumea and Villa are the only ones they seem to visit with the random mystery island.
  15. Hey we just had a full moon, where’s the princess medallion thread?
  16. Yeah ,that is odd about the dining room. It’s just RCG ,some things just don’t add up. Cafe al bacio can you get a coffee card and what about the buffet ,does the bar make coffee for a price?
  17. What’s the coffee like in the buffet, will it kill you like on Royal ? Also on the captain’s menu do they do mixed drinks like bourbon and coke?
  18. I have a question, where’s the best place to get a coffee in the morning? Do they have a coffee machine like the diamond lounge on Royal?
  19. I am not aware of anyone being charged corkage. I have seen bar staff offering an ice bucket and glasses with a smile.
  20. I think we can forget about Lelepa with these carbon emissions. We might be lucky to retain 2 ships with limited ports in the future. No wonder the Americans are complaining about the flood of 3 night cruises from Florida that just go to coco cay and another port.
  21. No ,a battery powered ship doesn’t add up ,maybe some storage to get into environmental areas like Milford Sound or the Norwegian fiords. I think our on short term solution ,a biofuel or a mix like E 10 would help to comply with emissions. On the upside of all this we might get some newer ships that run on LNG . They could be split between Australian and Singapore.
  22. Wärtsilä do convert ships and you would think the newer ships would have been built to be converted to biofuel or ammonia. I have just found out the reason royal is cutting back on ship here in Australia is to comply with carbon emissions. As you know everything is a long distance here and big fuel burn thus increasing the company carbon emissions. I just thought you might know. https://www.wartsila.com/marine/products/engines-and-generating-sets/dual-fuel-engines
  23. Port Kembla has LNG storage . Tauranga has ship LNG refuelling facilities . But LNG is only a short term solution. They HAVE to be carbon neutral by 2050 and there going to be a lot of unhappy cruisers between now and then.
