  1. You don’t have to pay extra, there’s plenty of very good, free food and none alcoholic drinks. Prices move around,I just checked one of my cruises and it has gone up. Before the pandemic, the booze package was about $A80. Now it’s $A150 I have never bought the booze package and I like a drink. I think my biggest bill was about $A400 for a 12 night cruise. Have a look at getting a suite, they have a private lounge with a happy hour that runs from 4 - 7 with unlimited drinks. Also a private restaurant called coastal kitchen which is great. Here’s a screenshot of a 7 night cruise.
  2. I agree about the central government but Hong Kong is supposed to be separate. I read a different article they said spectrum. If not what other ship could it be? It would have to be Spectrum. And Wonder would replace Spectrum in Singapore.
  3. I read somewhere that Royal has just applied to start cruises out of Hong Kong. I believe with spectrum. They where thinking of early next year if they allow it. I found it. https://www.scmp.com/news/article/3189135/royal-caribbean-plans-set-sail-hong-kong-again-after-tough-coronavirus
  4. Unlimited drinks package is about $AU 120 a day. These Prices are in $A beer about $10 ,wine about $15 ,cocktails about $15 to $20. That’s with gratuity. Yep ,they are out to make up for there loses and apparently we can expect even higher prices in the future. If you want better value and $A try P&O but you get what you pay for.
  5. I got a request for our vaccination the other day. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/aus/en/resources/vaccination-form?country=AUS
  6. Quite possibly more of Royal’s hype. But after the end of next year over the northern winter. They will be running out of places to deploy the big ships. There’s going to be 7 oasis style ships in the Caribbean, not to mention the others. I think that’s 23 ships in the Caribbean?? over winter 2023 Correct me if I’m wrong.
  7. I don’t know, but I’m sure BIG Gav must have a good idea. From what I can work out it could do short coastal cruises,Sydney Brisbane and Eden is supposed to be upgraded. Long coastal cruises to Hobart and possibly Adelaide?? The North Island of NZ ,Picton and Tauranga. And Noumea and Vila are also possible .

  9. Royal has applied to resume cruises out of Hong Kong. They are hoping to deploy spectrum by the end of the year. If so they will be in need of another ship .
  10. Well , I suppose certification was the wrong word but you know what I mean. Hey at least I’m not chatting about Navigator ,Mexico and drug cartels. https://www.tasports.com.au/volumes/documents/Projects/PORT25365-TP-Major-Ports-briefing-template-Macq-Warf-V4.pdf
  11. I was looking at that but I don’t think so. They just recently certified Hobart’s Macquarie Dock for Oasis class.
  12. That’s where navigator operates. But to be honest it’s not much worse than most U.S. cities.
  13. You have both got big Gav’s email? But it’s not really there business model ,RC is more of a seasonal company. But desperate times call for desperate change. You should have a look at the travel advisory by the U.S. embassy in Mexico. Do not travel ,seek secure shelter. Murder, abduction, gun fire ,cars alight , just to start with. Basically a war zone.
  14. If you want connecting rooms,I would call who ever you booked it with and sort it out. I can see a situation where there’re no adjoining cabins left by the time they allocate your cabins.
  15. They must have got that flux capacitor they where waiting for in the mail.
  16. Like I said, I’ll stay out of it , most Americans don’t even know it exists.
  17. Your my only mate on this forum and sometimes I’m not to sure on that.
  18. Isn’t the Jones act something different? Like it relates to cargo? https://www.hupla.co/en/faq/what-is-passenger-vessel-service-act-pvsa-in-the-cruise-industry
  19. I will stay out of that argument but people that seem to know ,tell me it is. But I don’t really know.
  20. There’s very little obstruction, only looking down you will see a obstruction.
  21. On the subject of celebrity,Qantas has a great deals on Celebrity cruises out of Japan ! Qantas is a airline not a agent,I don’t believe I’m breaking CC rules.
  22. Navigator only takes a extra 900 passengers or so . Its got things for the kids ,water slide, laser tag,ice skating, teens club. Apparently Navigator hasn’t been selling very well in L.A. .the itinerary is very limited. But let’s see ??
  23. The ships sailing from L.A. Must have a temporary exemption from the PVSA . They are just doing circles or cruises to nowhere,I don’t know how long that will last for long .
  24. I would bet my last Crown & Anchor drink it’s a place holder . Wonder?? I see Sydney is now showing Rhapsody instead of Brilliance for the 23-24 season. I wish they would make up their mind.
  25. So why couldn’t it do longer cruises? If things don’t calm down, there’s going to be a big announcement. Sales are bad and drug cartels with guns aren’t going to improve things. Plus Royal won’t be taking passengers to a place that the state department say to reconsider to trip. I think Navigator is the most revamped Voyager class,it could be good here. Certainly give P&O and carnival a run for there money over winter.
