  1. Speculation of the seas year round in Brisbane.
  2. Can’t you just make something up Graham, you know just tell what we want to hear.
  3. @gbenjo You might be able to get some inside information. I was told by a CLIA rep that intercuise or the shore service is working on deployment of a ship year round in Brisbane for Royal Caribbean. Any word ?
  4. Apparently voyager will fit into trinity inlet in Cairns but Royal Caribbean won’t take it in. I was reading Ports north supplied the relevant information to both RCG and Carnival but they declined to take anything over 300 meters. They said the channel isn’t wide enough if a wind pops up.
  5. The word is a ship year round in Brisbane 2024 . Im trying to find out which ship . My thoughts are it will be a Voyeger class and the only one that hasn’t been to the pacific is Adventure of the seas.
  6. I don’t know if this has been posted yet. https://southpacificislands.travel/new-caledonia-amongst-72-countries-worldwide-that-have-no-covid-19-travel-restrictions/?utm_source=SPTO&utm_campaign=b9d2a96e02-EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_2022_08_09_11_01&utm_medium=email&utm_term=0_a52e4ef901-b9d2a96e02-1401157377
  7. I can’t think of any public transport to white elephant? I think the new metro has a station at Balmain, I don’t know how that would go?
  8. No it’s not running yet but maybe for the coming season. I think it was $14 ,not that bad but still not circular quay. Cairns airport has shuttles into town and a cab is about $18. Stay the night and 5-10 minute walk to the terminal . How good is that.
  9. I don’t think I will be holding my breath mick. Unless the cruise lines kick in some cash,it won’t happen for a while.
  10. I can see your point but I don’t think the population around the area would fill the market. A lot of people will have to fly and I would rather fly the bit extra to a lovely departure town. Cairns is pretty close to the distance from noumea as Brisbane is ,about 2 days sailing time. Cairns is closer for the Asian and U.S. travellers. Brisbane badly needed a good terminal but it has something missing.
  11. What a nightmare. They should upgrade Cairns as Queensland’s number one cruise terminal. Brisbane doesn’t have much going for it’s a cruise port.
  12. I love 270 in the day and seeing the wake. Will it have a rear facing lounge of some discrimination or the return of the Viking crown lounge?
  13. It must have been a epic day to green island there Leigh. Got a selfie with snorkel and flippers for us?
  14. They are still notifying Alaska passengers that Quantum’s engine won’t be fix at least the end of September early October. Im thinking they could swap it for Navigator? But I don’t know if Quantum can hookup to shore power in L.A.
  15. Maybe they weren’t aware of the over commercialised world heritage area Leigh. Cairns has some of the worst reef on the coast.
  16. 10 minutes walk I was there 2 weeks ago. There’s better things to do than go snorkeling, catch the train to Kuranda .
  17. Vision of the seas has a couple of bookings in Australia in early 2025. Darwin and Perth,I would say it’s the circular Australia cruise. https://www3.fremantleports.com.au/VTMIS/dashb.ashx?db=fmp.public&btn=CruiseShips Lets Hope captain Hindrick Loy brings his ship down under.
  18. I will second that , I could have had almost the same in windjammers.
  19. I think they are using the same Royal maths to calculate the speed and fuel burn as they use to calculate their sales. The answer to the equation is what suits Royal Caribbean best. Their drinks package was on sale a while ago, second person got 40% off. Full price was about $145 while one person could get it on special for about $100. But if you got the BOGO 40% off it worked out at $120 per person for the 2 people. Now that’s Royal maths.
  20. I find it a bit hard to swallow my self. I’m sure there’s a new legislation but I think it’s more to do with enchantment being unpopular . They also swapped voyager for adventure in Galveston because of the same reason. Surely there can’t be that much difference in 2 almost identical ships.
  21. Icon only wonder where they are getting the money of the seas.
  22. Interesting times Graham. 2 facts The Americans have big interest in Sydney. And we are a safe destination. Oh ,the third is @gbenjoat OPT
