  1. I am sure that you are correct. We have looked at other lines but invariably come back to Regent.
  2. Yes I agree with you entirely. You don’t need to be on a cruise ship to see that supply chains are disrupted. However, it becomes more difficult to pay premium prices and not receive premium service and that’s where people may vote with their feet. Maybe some people will join the Regent followers because they have not experienced the past, but when you have experienced the past and the changes are noticeable that’s when life will be more challenging. I am sure that the powers that be will be doing their best but it’s a fine line between satisfying the shareholders and the experienced Regent travellers.
  3. We have stayed in the Fairmont hotel which was quite pleasant and ideal for walks into old Monte Carlo and visiting the Japanese gardens. We had a great suite with the Casino right at the back of us. I don’t know how it will be now because they were reclaiming land just in front of the hotel but from the roof terrace there were great views overlooking the harbour and the ship when she came in.
  4. I’ve also ordered the newspapers when I have ordered our preferred drinks for the suite.
  5. Gold and above Seven Seas Society members can have newspapers of their choice. However I just download and try to save paper.
  6. We have sailed from Monte Carlo a few times and Regent have usually provided a black private hire Mercedes either just for the two of us or, when with friends, the four of us. It’s quite a pleasant journey and you are picked up directly outside the airport. I have considered the helicopter ride but then you’re still left with a journey from the heliport in Monte Carlo to the hotel. Anyway if helicopters were meant to fly they would have wings.
  7. We had a behind the scenes tour of the Constellation theatre on one cruise. We also had to participate in a little dance on the stage. Very interesting to see how the costumes were made as well as the technical side of things.
  8. Speak to maitre d’ in Compass Rose, allow a couple of days notice. We have always allowed chef to demonstrate their skills and never been disappointed. We have only ever specified the spicyness and everything has been superb.
  9. You’re only as good as your weakest link. It does seem to be recurring theme.
  10. Looking at Crew Centre she was in dry dock in Genoa 10 - 26 September, so I’m not so sure.
  11. Well done to Ray Solaire, the whole Regent team and the dry dock workers. Looking forward to our first trip on Navigator next year. Thanks for the video.
  12. Great photo of the bathing pools with Castle Cornet and Splendor in the distance. Your phones changed time zones because you were so close to France as you sailed past the Cherbourg peninsula on your way from Southampton.
  13. So glad you enjoyed our little island and the weather was very kind to you. Enjoy the rest of your trip which I will follow because we’ve booked an identical cruise on Navigator 2024. I don’t think that we will be getting off in Guernsey though, unless the wife has forgotten something though. Agree with flossie about the black pudding and scallops though.
  14. Looks like one of those glasses had a leak. Take the opportunity to ask for another.
  15. Builders tea, well any decent tea. It’s Twining’s usual selection. I find it best to ask for two bags in one pot but makes sure that you state two bags in a small pot. It kind of defeats the object of two bags in a large pot. I guess it must be the English way!
  16. Let’s hope that it gets resolved and there’s not too much back up. Safe journey.
  17. Just ask in Compass Rose. Give them a couple of day’s notice. We were asked if we had any preferences for meats but we said the choice would be up to the chef but that we would like it spicy. It was and was absolutely delicious. I’m sure that everything is done to please and it gives chef the opportunity to be creative.
  18. Can’t answer fully but on our Southampton to Southampton cruise at the end of May Regent collected up all of our passports. No customs officials for us in France or Spain until the second day in Spain when we had a face to face with customs officials and our passports returned stamped! Seemed a very odd procedure not to have a face to face on the first day in Spain. I expect that some of the changes in Europe are as a result of Brexit. Who knows?
