  1. Carnival said "they are sure he didn't go overboard"??? I mean...how can they be sure? It was the next day before anyone realized that the guy from Louisiana who went overboard (and was rescued) was missing. Clearly, Carnival didn't notice he went in the water. The one thing I do think is interesting is that he would have gone overboard when they were relatively close to being in port according to the time line...
  2. Yes. You can do that. You will just have to click the complete later button.
  3. Someone once said they sell them on ebay, but even if you have one, you can't buy a drink because your sail and sign card would show you shouldn't be there.
  4. I think he could have gotten off the ship without notice. Someone on another forum suggested he was trying to duck out of child support and criminal charges. Heck, once the boat is in port, you could jump off one of the lower decks and swim to shore. You could definitely jump off of a Cove balcony and not be injured. I have jumped out of trees/off of rocks at lakes higher than Deck 2. I know he had an inside cabin, but when people are checking out, they sometimes leave doors open. And some of the boats have public decks on like deck 4. I mean, most likely he committed suicide, but stranger things have happened. Like the guy from Louisiana who fell off a Carnival ship and was found after a couple of days floating in the gulf recently.
  5. So might Carnival do a Fjords cruise in 2025?
  6. Maybe he decided to stow away and go on another cruise. He could sleep on the deck and eat at the buffet.
  7. We have A01 boarding group (woohoo) and are sailing in a Havana aft balcony on the Vista on Sept 23. I have sailed in the Havana are on the Vista twice before, but both times we boarded much later as we weren't Platinum at the time. Are the spas/pool open to swim in at, say, noon on sail away day? Or do they take that time to clean it? Is the bar open and staffed?
  8. Unfortunately, my kids are in school then. I was looking for something during the summer.
  9. I found a 36-day WC segment going from Sydney to Rome in summer 2025 that had a couple of rooms available. I took a couple of weeks to research the internet and talk my husband and kids into it. (Husband will have to work from on board, but the Crown Princess has star link.) I finally got every one on board, go to book it and now it is showing sold out! There was literally availability less than a week ago. Is there a way to get on an email list to find out if availability comes open? (In other words, other than checking the website every day...) I DM'd princess cruise rep on the Princess website and that was pointless. No help. After 20 minutes, they just told me the cruise was full.
  10. IDK. Someone above said that HAL offered OBC for AARP members.
  11. Does Carnival offer an AARP OBC? Also, @Tom-n-Cheryl not sure you are interested in MSC, but they offer 10 percent off to medical professionals.
  12. Anyone here when Crown Princess might get it? Trying to talk my husband into doing a 36 day segment of the world cruise, but he has to be able to have really good internet.
  13. And I hope no one removes tips over this. They are hurting the wrong people if they do this. The crew had nothing to do with this.
  14. If it had been something reasonable (like a third off or something) I could see where Carnival might have to honor it under various state's deceptive trade practices act, but no one could reasonably believe that Carnival would be selling Cheers for 1/7 its normal price.
  15. On my Alaskan cruise, I saw a guy trying to board with a box fan strapped to his back. They wouldn't let him take it on. He argued with them saying that he "always cruises with it."
  16. Man, I was too late to the party. Bummed. I would have booked it with a 10-20 percent off coupon.
  17. Did you buy them through the Carnival website?
  18. One of my Chase cards has a 15% off on Carnival this month so check your Chase offers. Good for up to $129 cash back. I believe it is a targeted offer as my Chase Aer Lingus card offers it but my Chase United and BA don't. Just wanted to post for anyone else with a Chase card to remind them to check their offers.
  19. I have had to start holding my tongue as well and make a point to not comment on rude and obnoxious behavior or people breaking rules because the sort of people who do these things are also the sort of people who will make a scene when their bad behavior is pointed out.
  20. Yeah, we don't really have the problem of running up debt or gambling too much because I actually get anxiety when I start losing too much and then it isn't fun for me anymore. I am pretty frugal. Really, I just want discounts on cruises. I just can't figure out how to make that happen...and I think Carnival seems to have my number because they don't send me casino offers. Even my husband has gotten a few and my Mom gets them...but not me.
  21. That made me LOL. However, the fact that you knew the difference makes me wonder if you are a fellow points hacker. I only recently got heavily into this and I feel like a new world has been opened up to me.
