  1. What do you mean by this? Our next Princess cruise is out of Southampton and would love to bring more than 2 bottles since it is a long cruise.
  2. We had one on the Riviera deck a few years ago, the suite was great but the balcony, as large as it was, had almost no cover which made it unusable on rain days and a lot of soot because of the openness of the deck. Since we are looking at a 17 night cruise we want more cover for the balcony we booked B735. Just a quick step up a few flights up to the CL or an elevator. We didn't really use the CL much though so not a big factor for us.
  3. We've done 9 TA's and the weather was great for all but this one, so never say never. This one was tough but we still had a great time.
  4. Different cruiseline but last November we were on Celebrity Apex with LOUSY internet for the entire TA. Just off the Apex again 3 days ago after another TA and the new Starlink system was amazing the entire trip, never lost signal once over 15 days. Huge improvement. No reason to think Princess ships would be any different.
  5. Thanks!!! Getting ready to book a fall 2024 TA on the Sky.
  6. I know some of those corner aft suites on the Sky (and other Royal class ships) have better balconies than others. Some have more covered areas. Does anyone know which these are? I have done a search and not coming up with anything. Thanks
  7. On our Apex TA last fall the internet was horrible while we were crossing the Atlantic. I am happy to report that the new Starlink system worked wonderfully on the TA that just ended 2 days ago. We never lost signal at all even during moving through a very large storm system in the middle of the ocean. Just thought those sailing soon on Apex would want to know that.
  8. We couldn’t agree with you more about Sony and Marcus. Sony was our waiter back in 2019 on the Silhouette and Marcus our Asst waiter last fall on the Apex TA. They make a great team, and make you feel like family. They have taken great care of us on this cruise too.
  9. Agree, it was pretty lousy on last fall's TA..... perhaps the addition of Starlink will improve it.
  10. Thank you for checking. That's what we found last fall, was hoping some had been added.😔 We will bring our own this time. So strange that they took that option away with the Edge class ships.
  11. We also were lucky enough to be on board with Cranston on the Reflection.... wonderful bartender! I have a question that someone had on the TA roll call. Have you had a chance to see if there are any music channels on the TV in your suite? When we were on Apex for the TA last fall there were none at all which was disappointing, we are used to S Class which offers a few of them. I'm hoping that has improved since our sailing last November.
  12. Have a wonderful week in the Caribbean!! We are excited about next Saturday and another wonderful TA!
  13. Did you try West Palm or Orlando? Might be able to rent a car in Orlando and drop off in Ft. Lauderdale. Some of the car agencies don't charge a drop off fee when it's within Florida. We use Avis to get to the port. Just a suggestion, hope you are able to secure an earlier flight. Orlando Airport to south Florida you would take the 528 east to I-95 and then south all the way to FLL.
  14. Jim- I saw you are coming into Ft. Lauderdale airport wanted to let you know the airport is closed today until noon because of flooding through out Ft. Lauderdale. There was a large amount of rain all this week resulting in the closures yesterday. Hopefully it won't impact you and that you are coming in later in the day.
  15. Look forward to your report on the 4/15 cruise and then will be enjoying your take on the TA that we are also on!!! Bon Voyage!!!!
  16. Date of Cruise: 10/29/22-11/12/22 Ship: Apex Cabin #: 11111 Deck #: 11 Cabin Category: CS Cabin Location: Forward Bed Position: Separate bedroom Balcony Type: Large Balcony/Window Size: Large Balcony/Window View/Obstruction: None Balcony Overhang?: Yes, protected from rain, still got sun in morning/early afternoon Magic Carpet Issues?: na Noise Issues?: Just creaky noises in the rough seas from 2 hurricanes north of us Wind Issues?: Only in that you can't sit on the balcony or in the room unless the balcony doors were completely locked, just shut still creates a strong whistling. Never encountered this on any other Celebrity class ship. Connecting Cabin? Where Does it Connect?: none Suite Details: Large living room, seperate bedroom, 2 entrances to bath, one from living area and one from bedroom, 2 large TV's. very nice room Advantages/Problems/Comments: Bath/shower very tricky and only one half grab bar to hold onto in rough seas which we encountered for several days as we passed through the swells from 2 hurricanes north of us Would You Book It Again?: Yes, we are...... in 3 weeks, same ship same type room. Photos or Photo Links:
  17. Have been reading horror stories on various Princess ships about little or no internet service unless the ship is in port. Our previous sailings on the Regal in 2018 & 2019 we did not experience anything like this. What has happened that the service is so slow or non existent and will it be fixed, replaced, upgraded some time soon? We have a 17 night trip on the Sky booked in late 2024 and really don't want to be out of touch for most of those days.
  18. Well we ARE coming home in business class for the first time so it should be better, still that many hours is still just not something we look forward to. It is a disadvantage (for us) on East bound TA's. Not so bad when the flight is at the beginning and all you have to do is enjoy the cruise home afterwards!!!
  19. Apex shows an outdoor area for the Fine Cut, has anyone here been seated in that area? Is it protected from the elements at all? Is it quieter than the indoor area?
  20. There is no step up to the bathroom in the CS on Apex. The bath/shower IS difficult to get in and out of and there is no "real" grab bar inside the tub itself. Just a half bar. When the ship is rocking if you are in high seas it can be very unsteady when taking a shower. I'm not mobility challenged, but did not like the bath/shower especially in rough seas which we had a lot of on the fall 2022 TA.
  21. Reading on the balcony, sipping wine on the balcony and everywhere else on the ship. Relaxing sea days to rest up for the ports to come, this time quite a few of them, like TA's were in the past. Enjoying Luminae and all it's unique dishes. Meeting new people. Ending in Amsterdam, our first visit, where we get to explore for a few days. Dislike--- the long ass flight home......ugh.
  22. Was the tasting menu even available at Eden last week? As I recall a few months ago that menu was eliminated, or has it not been brought back.
  23. True......but to get stuck with a $100,000+ evacuation bill because the decision was not made to spend the $375 for MedJet coverage is not something we are willing to test. We know of several situations that happened with people who had coverage and those that didn't that had accidents or illness occur fr from home and those with Medjet got home and the others did too...eventually and at great cost. They now carrry it too. Once burned and all. Peace of mind is worth a few hundred dollars when travelling 10's of 1000's miles from home.
