  1. Thanks for chiming in. I think everyone here thought I was a complete air brain.
  2. Wow. They were not prepared. I guess people DO want to have breakfast in the dining room.
  3. That's great news. But which did Jon try to be seated at? It doesn't really matter if the service was not there. Disappointing news.
  4. No tables available? This sounds like they need to use the Restaurant for breakfast as well. I am assuming you were breakfasting in the Colonnade?
  5. Of course we did look up. There was no heat available on our cruise. We asked! These heaters were not in the area where we sat--which was the most protected area. Look--I don't doubt they are there now and operational. I was just telling about our own experience in June. I am. not an idiot. I know how to ask people for heat.
  6. We brought four self test kits on our June cruise. We didn't need them--thank goodness, but I was glad we had them. We also had Paxlovid with us--no charge from our pharmacy here in the US. We had taken Paxlovid last September when we had Covid and it knocked it out post haste. Of course, not everyone is safe to take this drug. Your own doctor can advise you.
  7. Congratulations on your upgrade! What a wonderful start to your cruise. However, I have to tell you that we had a wonderful V2 on deck 9 on our wonderful Norwegian cruise in June. We enjoyed it immensely. It could not have been better. And thank you for doing a live report here!
  8. I am not really disputing fact. What I am puzzled by is the answers we got from SB staff when we asked about heaters at Earth and Ocean. Were they obfuscating about heaters which were not working? All I know is that we asked--and no heat or heaters were provided or were available. That was OUR experience. Perhaps yours is indeed different.
  9. I don't know the answer to your question, but there is a clothes steamer aboard Ovation in the laundry room. I don't know if that is helpful info.
  10. So very odd that we were told there was no heat. That's all I have to say.
  11. No one is saying that you are lying. Don't be ridiculous. The simple fact is that those of us on Ovation in June (me, Mr. SLSD, and our friends whom I quoted) ALL asked about heaters at Earth and Ocean and were ALL told that there were none. It's a simple as that. AND, we did not ask the same people. As I said, I'm mystified. I would love photos as we actively looked for built in heaters also.
  12. To quote the SB cruiser who sailed with us on Ovation in June: "They are absolutely wrong!! Ovation and her sister ship do not have heaters! The staff jokes they ran out of $$ when building the ship." (I cannot verify that she is correct about Encore. We've sailed on Encore, but it was a warm weather cruise.
  13. I think they lose sales because of their poor website.
  14. The website will not work for me when I use Chrome---I have to use Safari. I agree. It is a terrible website.
  15. I have just corresponded with another SB cruiser--who was on the Ovation with us in June. I knew that she and her husband dined at Earth And Ocean. She also says that there are no heaters at Earth and Ocean on Ovation, In fact, she tells me that she had an extensive conversation with a member of the wait staff about this. The wait staff member told her that there are NO heaters at Earth and Ocean on Ovation and that sometimes it is SO cold she can barely work there. SO--if heaters have indeed been installed SINCE June 26th, that is great. But they were NOT there earlier in June. We also asked about heaters and were told that there are none. I am still mystified.
  16. We had no heat. We asked for heaters. There were none mentioned or offered. We'll certainly investigate next time we are on Ovation! We were fine. We enjoyed our meals.
  17. We saw no heaters and none were offered when we asked. They were not evident as built in because we did not see them either. We looked for them. We could have used them! Are you sure you are not thinking about the Veranda outside of the Colonnade? I am mystified as several people were asking about heaters.
  18. I have lived this thread because it was our worst nightmare and I saw it happen to a couple on our June Ovation cruise. This is why we OBSESSED over packing for a full 14 days in our tiny carryons. I guess we will continue packing this way. I couldn't be happier that the Mauzacs have been made whole.
  19. Your description is correct--ornamental bars.
  20. Wow, I guess these were installed since June as they were definitely NOT there in June. That's great. We asked for heaters in June on Ovation on Earth and Ocean and they had none. This is a good development. Can you give a a photo?
  21. How strange--as there are none on Ovation. Everyone asked.
  22. I was looking at photos of Nova in another forum and I cannot figure out why the designers chose the carpet in that restaurant. There were several things that put us off from booking a Silversea cruise. I was pursuing it and even got numbers from our travel agent. For one thing--we can take a 28 day cruise on Seabourn for only three thousand more than a 14 day cruise on Silversea. It's not all about the dollars, but IS about getting out of the summer heat in our state for as long as possible. We don't rule out a Silversea cruise in the future, but it won't be next summer.
  23. Exactly, the stringing together of 7 day cruises is one of my chief complaints about Seabourn right now.
