With Azamara, there is a place to register for the event on the Azamara website. The problem is that the ball seems to get dropped somewhat from that point on.

I will be on the Journey next October for the same itinerary that @Grandma Cruisingis on now. Sure hope it improves!

I’m not sure I completely follow. Were you directed to go to the port side of the Living Room only to find the area not reserved for you? If so, that doesn’t seem acceptable! Others may know who the best person to address this to might be. Betsey

We didn’t have to do it when buying the trip insurance, as long as we purchased it within 10 days of booking the cruise.

We also buy our insurance immediately at booking as it will, at that point, cover preexisting conditions. And one never knows what might happen. So sorry to hear about your grandchild, @uktog . Betsey

If it is from Azamara, it should appear on your account. OBC from a TA won’t show up until you’re onboard. I’m on the Rio to Lisbon segment of this cruise so see you onboard!

@Grandma Cruising, good to hear! We’re doing the opposite route - Rio to Lisbon in March. I know it will be hot in Rio but not sur what to expect for the rest of the cruise. Advice welcome!

I agree. A set venue that wouldn’t really interfere with sail away sounds like a great idea.

On my first AZ cruise, the meet and greet was hosted by someone (cd?) with a microphone, who kept things lively and gave everyone an opportunity to introduce themselves. I think name tags with CC names and actual names would be a good idea too. There was also a waiter who circulated with drinks.

And I am sorry for beating a dead horse, but if Azamara is not really supporting these events, then why do they send confirmation emails such as the one below: Thank you for registering for our upcoming Azamara Cruise Critic Meet & Mingle party. You are confirmed to attend! Please keep this email as confirmation of your registration. Yes, there probably is never going to be a perfect option. On the pool deck at sail away might be a nice compromise, unless the weather was horrible.

Does it make you choose between that and the Petra excursion? Apparently that is the case on the same cruise in 2023

Pretty sure the invitations are a thing of the past

Had there lies the problem. We get an e-mail confirmation of our registration, but that is often many months before the cruise and at that time we don’t know the day or time of the party. I’m the excitement of embarkation, the first daily planner may be overlooked. It would be SO helpful if there was an invitation in the room.
