  1. MMM just ran across a She Crab Soup recipe on You tube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L84rWCrGNt8 My all time favorite RCCL Soup. They haven't made this soup in years but it remains a favorite of ours. Thought I'd share it with you, maybe some of you remember this soup.
  2. These have been steadily going up, at least on my screen! Alaska is phenomenally high, higher than an inside fare! I've check several cruises with insides under $400 but the fees are over that....eek
  3. RCCL agents have asked me that question during the booking process the last few cruises.
  4. We've loved CoCo Cay for 20 years both when it was just a castaway island and now that it is a full fledged resort island. We loved the natural feel of it back in the day and sorta miss that, but we love the new resort feel too...though don't appreciate the cost of some things. But there are still spots to feel isolated and wild on the south side and places to be in the grove, so we don't rule out that itinerary at all. Happy to be there and now anticipating the new Hideaway Beach area (before it too is priced out of our budget) we will be doing on our ICON cruise. We are water babies, we snorkel, dive and swim and just love beaches in general. And sometimes stay onboard to take advantage of no cruisers at the pool decks. Takes all kinds and different strokes for different folks. Thankfully, there are all kinds of different itins to please all kinds of people.
  5. I think there are crystal fobs to be added to it anyway. It looks only like metal. Not in the background.
  6. I am just as shocked at the booking mock ups these days also! 😲 Looking at Alaska cruises seems so reasonable but when port fees/tax is added it gets astronomical, they are more than the cruise fare! Our income cannot keep up with this.
  7. Our first stop onboard these days...mmmmm I still can taste the Caesar Salad I had last month, so good, crispy and yummy, don't know how you can make a salad taste so good but they do!
  8. I would never pay what The Key wants for anything, $43 pp per day, not on your life. That's $602 per cruise for a lunch we can get for $29.99 pp with the taste of RCCL and leave our luggage someplace, what luggage, they already take it curbside. Nope I see no advantage in The Key at all...but different strokes for different folks.
  9. Love the parody Dee,,,where were you during the Cruise Critic poem contest? that tune was one of my favorites back in the day (dating myself) Of all the venues on Odyssey, Playmakers was our biggest disappointment! Burger was dry and unappealing and I had high expectations for that! Didn't even enjoy the famous fries. Didn't even order the cookie we were so disappointed. Different strokes for different folks. Based on our experience don't think we'll ever brave the stairs to get up there again. Course the soccer tourney was on that day and there were at least a million people there.
  10. Keep checking cruise planner or the app for your important papers/contract/luggage tags. They will show up before you leave. Follow formula for bar code on your set sail pass, last few numbers of the code will be your cabin #.
  11. Thanks so much, this was really helpful to me as a first time wheeler....happy wheeling!
  12. Remember, your wish is their command, you have not because you ask not...just mention kindly they were cold and you'll have hotter potatoes, I guarantee it! We once complained a little that cruises never serve rolls hot so the butter melts, ours were hot every night after. So now we request heated rolls right up front on the first night. They really care about pleasing the customer. But most people don't ever comment on something that's not right. Never hesitate.
  13. Thanks for that tip. We planned the Radiance Vancouver to Vancouver for our 30th anniversary in 2026, so can't even book the cruise till next March, But I will definitely be looking for the Black Friday deals
  14. Wow, if that's the case go for it, it'll be well worth it. We did it at Dawes, but it doesn't beat Hubbard.
  15. . they've never been offered on our Hubbard cruises, although I'd much rather see Hubbard than Dawes. Dawes is so small and the calving action at hubbard is epic: Guess I was wrong if it is offered on Radiance, I'd do it again.
  16. One of our faves as well, when we first went there (2008) we were 2 of about 10 people, then years following vendors started coming in and the Celine actually anchored there, beautiful beach and you can just see the planes coming in too.
  17. Once we rented a car in St. Thomas, but as you said, the traffic was scary, millions seemingly trying to get back to their ships and driving on the wrong side! Hairy! Hubs said, next time we take a tour or cab, I'm never driving here again!
  18. They served a lunch to die for, salads and fresh catch of the day plus luncheon meats/cheeses crudite etc. And served BBBs on the way back to dock, everyone toasting going under the bay draw bridge. Such fun.
  19. Don't know about Wonder but on Odyssey at Giovanni's Kitchen my Pasta Carbonara was perfect and tasty, not too salty. No heaps on top either. Hope ya'll try it on her if ever....mmmmmmmmmmmmm
  20. We've done Celine, those two are great people and we had a blast, worth every penny. We were active on our roll call at the time and met and shared this excursion with 2 couples from England.
