  1. I was generalizing not responding to the OP. "Kids begin forming explicit childhood memories around the 2-year mark, but the majority are still implicit memories until they’re about 7. It’s what researchers, like Carole Peterson, PhD from Canada’s Memorial University of Newfoundland, call “childhood amnesia.” https://www.scientificamerican.com/article/when-do-children-start-making-long-term-memories/ I totally understand the mother's need to make memories but they are for her not the child.
  2. Could you ask for double or triple shots in your coffee? The gardens photos were lovely, I bet those Bonsi's were hundreds of years old, right? Just gorgeous. I myself will never get over to the orient but love your review anyway. Thx.
  3. I would never have taken my toddlers. To me, a vacation should be away from normal schedules. I need solitude and freedom from everyday worries to really detox. When we traveled, they always stayed with Gramps. They started going with us in grammar school. I couldn't imagine dealing with diapers, formula, crying and constant drain of supervising on a ship...But different strokes for different folks. In general kids won't remember much of anything until they reach 4 or so. I couldn't tell you if I even HAD a birthday party until that age. Again:
  4. The owner won't see it....you've done all you can do and you are perfectly correct and justified under the circumstances...put on your flame suit.
  5. I never take those on a cruise. I purchased a cheap and I do meant cheap fake ring from Shein online, it's gorgeous and has fooled even the Jeweler onboard at first glance and it was under $10. I take a lot of other jewelry mostly gemstones such as Topaz and lots of bangles etc. If it happened to be lost I wouldn't care much. Don't even wear a watch anymore, the only thing I'd hate to lose is my phone.
  6. This would never happen if people would carry their jewelry in a pouch or travel box. I would never just throw a ring into the safe, my little pouch rolls up and has several compartments with zippers and fits nicely in the safe.....my Momma taught me, a place for everything and everything in it's place.
  7. One man's trash is another man's treasure...same with your abode, one man's hovel is another man's palace....
  8. Ditto, but I'm a nester, 10 days seemed long to me, I love my earthbound home. I go to the Ocean to get fixed, but sadly, must return to the earth....LOL Landmaid.
  9. Mine did have an error message but I just clicked on the Add to Apple Wallet again and a pane saying Royal wants to add to your Apple Wallet clicked on that and voila all is well...try again, just keep going...we are a GTY but the numbers showed up on the bottom of the bar code...pass still shows GTY though although the numbers show our cabin # The luggage tags show the cabin # also and have been printed and in the tag holders on the bags along with the locks and we are ready to walk out the door.....whoo! Not toooo excited, 21 days out yet!🤪
  10. OP specifically asked about moving AFTER boarding, I was replying to that question On 8/9/2023 at 5:15 PM, LT4221 said: But my question is, has anyone had experience being in a noisy room and being able to switch once on board upon request and availability? not trying to move before boarding. But if you can't sleep or have some trouble with the cabin assigned, you can certainly go to guest services and they WILL try to accomodate if they can. That's all I'm saying.
  11. The examples I stated DID occur whether you think it's possible or not. And you just said as much in your own post. It never hurts to simply ask. In our case it did.
  12. I'm referring to moving after boarding not before......which I gave examples of in my posts. And that is entirely up to the ship. Jeez
  13. Not really, it's all up to the ship to make those allowances.
  14. Absolutely...we booked an interior deck 2 and it was directly under the public restroom on Deck 3 on Liberty. Could not sleep because the cleaning crew made so much noise above us. We politely complained and they sent the housekeeping mgr and the hotel mgr down, at 3:00am and they heard what we heard. Within literally 30 minutes they had moved us to a balcony room. I kid you not. Pays to be nice about it but that is one reason why we remain loyal to RCCL. They aim to please. That is our experience, can't speak for anyone else. Of course this was not a Royal Up, but if you are truly unhappy and the baby can't sleep, I am sure they will accommodate you. We also had the same thing happen on a family reunion cruise on the same ship. Our son/wife was very unhappy with their cabin because it was in the rear and the cavitation prevented her from sleeping. They moved them to a balcony cabin. These two incidents did not cost a penny. I still stand by the old adage...You have not because you ask not
  15. I already get that free, ordered several last cruise and they were very good and I got to have all the toppings I wanted, not a Pinnie either. That was Odyssey by the way. I do however, agree with Jumping Cruiser. But where do you go? All of them are doing that.
  16. Well that's debatable, I thought the pizza on Carnival no better than RCCL at all. And I wouldn't pay to eat either. BUT...I wouldn't let that stop me from cruising on RCCL...I'll never cruise Carnival again...ever. Not for any of these reasons but because I witnessed first hand the filth on their ships.
  17. Jerk....chicken....yeah gotta love that jerk chicken they serve up in Jamaica, don't ya'll BTW Opinion only has one p.
  18. South Beach to the right of the Beach Club...plenty of cabanas/bed, less people/no kids, short walk to the big pool, shallow sea and sand....throw in a little adventure with a baby shark siting
  19. I found them, just ordered some. I always present our fellow cruise buds a goody bag with all sorts of things, and these are perfect! Thanks.
  20. Love the guy in the plaid shorts...too funny!!!!!! Where did you get the sunshades....I want one.
  21. I originally booked the beach club at $92+, then my cruise bud traveling with us called me with the sale price of $58.99 so I CXd the original and rebooked at the lower price. Ya just gotta pay attention....closely!
  22. IMHO I have not found that to be true. Our upcoming Oceanview balcony midship deck 6 on Allure was only $499 pp GTY. Carnival couldn't come even close the week I looked. We booked an interior and waited for a sale, it came, pd an additional $82 for this balcony. You have to be willing to be diligent, they still have the deals. Now we have to wait until ICON comes out to watch for just such a deal and I think next fall there will be some. We get too many perks for loyalty to ever forsake RCL.
  23. If ya got it, flaunt it.....I don't have the $$ for it, but happy you can.
