  1. This may take a while with pics but it'll be brief. Firstly, boarding is still a snap in the new terminal🥰 On in 15 minutes and finished with dining rez in 30 mins at Giovanni's, then salad and roast beef sandwich at Park Cafe...mmmmm Our GTY balcony was fine, as I remembered from 2014 I think they carved a little out of the regular cabins and seemed small. This made storing the Wheel Chair really difficult, but we did it, technique is everything. When exiting entering anything, elevator, venues etc. I would get out and hubs would push it in, faster and less hassle. But it worked great! Saved my energy! I prefer the old menus, but not enough to grouch about it. It's basically the same just categorized into themes. I was happy to see the portion sizes getting smaller, I hate waste. But they were absolutely totally accomodating to any request we made. We could order anything. My only complaint is the Strip Steak, still tough and stringy, ick! Chops was our first of 3 specialties. And absolutely without doubt the best of all 3! We loved Samba Grill also, but tooooo much food and we did it the last day, we were maxed out!. Park 150 was not as good as I remember. Giovanni's here wasn't the same as our Odyssey experience.. Didn't think JR's was very good. They've changed the "Works", not the same wonderful veggie dish. And I had a personal disappointment in the dry and leathery french toast of all things, both there and MDR. All in all, not really any major complaints. I took these pics of the towels which are NOT prison grade to prove it:
  2. We liked ours but probably one and done for us. I am waiting for an actual authentic Thai restaurant experience on RCI. Maybe Utopia will include that. I much prefer Thai to other Asian food.
  3. They refused to even talk about that until the word GTY was no longer on my booking, so I couldn't change it. It only actually switched to the room number on my set sail pass the day the docs came out and by then all the other cabins in that cat. were gone! 😡 Even though the cabin number was already determined in the bar code. It worked out well anyway. I'm happy.
  4. You can see the port on port days, I fell asleep in Galveston with it on and all that clanking from loading the ship, lulled me to sleep. I watched the longshoremen loading, witnessed them running over someone's pink case too!
  5. There are black out curtains on it! We loved ours on Navi...we have another on Voyager next year.
  6. Did MTD this next cruise so did not email her...try it.
  7. Annoying when people generalize and use finite terms, speaking for "EVERYBODY"? I never heard anything like that in the DL. We've made lifelong friends there who never hogged chairs and never bragged about anything. Looks like we are in good company Doghog
  8. You understand that this info changes sometimes from one week to the next don't you? You should have plenty of time to observe your own schedule on the app in October a couple weeks before yours. Even if you could see todays schedule, it may be vastly different in October.
  9. And no trays, I've hated missing the trays, you have to make multiple trips to get food drinks and dessert. Wish they'd bring the trays back.
  10. Mostly We never got the email and sat in the centrum waiting and waiting bugging the Loyalty Amb. Finally, she said,...Guess we are full up, I'll have a bottle of wine brought to your room" It stunk...seriously horrible...but we told our steward and he managed to bring a better one.
  11. Lately, there haven't been many winning bids, the ships are just too full. Maybe after September when kids are back in school completely. Good luck.
  12. My hubs is an absolutely packing maniac. Ex military, get it all in a cigar box type. He can pack anything in anything. It's a game with him and me to try to get everything we need in as small a bag as possible. Right now, I'm looking at our packed bags for our cruise next week. One 22" carry on for each of us, a backpack for him, a big beach bag for me and an underseat bag for shoes/incidentals. All bags will be checked so I'll be in my wheelchair with my beach bag on my lap and we walk on ship with almost nothing. You can get an unbelievable amount of clothing in a carry on! Just sayin. Everything goes under the bed with no problem. When we arrive at room, we unpack everything and stow in cabin storage. We roll it off and self debark, no luggage in the hall.
  13. On Odyssey last December, the glass walkway around it was broken while we watched sailaway from it. A lady brought a glass beer bottle onto the walk and dropped it just right. All this whilst I was trying to reassure a lady that it couldn't possibly break! 🥴 The Cpt said the next day, no one would've fallen through it, two plates of 3 inch safety glass and the one on the top was the only one cracked...here's a pic I got: I bet it was hefty to replace the glass
  14. I think I would've gone for Free Cruises for life in the Royal Crown Suite!
  15. Let your Doc diagnose you first, you are probably jumping to the wrong conclusions. Maybe a 3 day virus, who knows. You Have until Thursday, take the days you have, don't overthink it.
  16. We've planned this for months. My chair will be driven up to our door and probably be folded before going inside and then stowed under the bed and plugged in by the bed. Eazy Peazy No way I'd leave my $1500 wheelchair outside😲 Additionally, anywhere we take it, the joystick can be removed and stowed under my lounger etc. It's no good without it, won't even roll unless you know how to disengage the rear wheels.
  17. Facetiousness: facetious stresses a desire to produce laughter and may be derogatory in implying dubious or ill-timed attempts at wit or humor.
  18. Yep, I have AFIB and ramps are a problem, also the piers at Coz and Costa Maya! Whew. They have the trams, but I want to be in control of when I can leave and come back. I'm anxious to know how my chair is received by the crew.. It will fit perfectly in the closet or under our bed on ship. Here's the one we got: 35.4 x 23.6 x 34.6 inches so less than 24" wide. It cost $1499 with a $100 coupon on Amazon. Lithium battery of course, just plug it in. I've been practicing, hope to just back in the elevator and zip out quickly. I'm getting pretty good at it, it turns on a dime!
  19. Don't explain or apologize, it happens. I'm in your boat and last cruise I had enough huffing and puffing and stopping on the way up and down the promenade...I researched everything and I do mean everything. Finally, we bought an electric wheel chair that folds up and gets through 24" doors...so we don't have to take up an Accessible cabin and can leave them for others if need be. It's more vertical than a scooter and I figured it would inconvenience less people in the elevators. Just a little more than a scooter but I figure I will need it anyway some day and renting would be more of a hassle than it's worth. It costs so much it wouldn't take long to break even. I'll let you know, we cruise next week and I'll be using it.
  20. I made it with chicken tenders yesterday....it's gone. It wasn't as good as theirs though!
  21. We've had noise problems on two ships in 29 cruises. One under the 3rd floor restroom, they moved us to a deck 12 balcony, worked out well. Cleaning crew kept waking us up at 3:00am We've had a couple connectors but no noise, had to call security on a non connecting interior once. The guy was beating the heck outa his lady, she screaming. They came and no more noise, but it was scary! Then on Voyager we were once under one of the Jacuzzi's and kept getting woke up by gurgling water sounds, somewhat hypnotic, but aggravating...we let that one ride.
