  1. And likewise may we blow holes in yours....simply ASK for some half n half. Problem solved. Ok peace out, I'm done this is just too ridiculous for words any more...and I never told anyone to go elsewhere all I was curious about was if they were so dis-satisfied, why continue to cruise RCCL.
  2. Aren't we all in the same boat. Our grocery bill has tripled since 2020!...can no longer afford the ribeye we were getting anymore...2 pk today was $47 at our Wally World! You don't think a company has to cut back like the rest of us...I don't think it's greed at all. But that's my humble opinion. We're still cruising. You watch closely for deals and economize where you can, they do too. I'm not fooled by anything they've done, to them it's necessary and I don't naysay them for it. They had a few contracts to fulfill too. It is what it is. We will remain with this line because I don't see that the others will do any different...go over to their boards, it's all the same and some are just going out of business...period.
  3. No one here is "not allowing you to give your opinion", in fact I deliberately said EVERYONE has a right to voice it. Including me. But if we do not agree with your supposition, we have the right to say so. I do not believe that the bottom line had anything to do with your half n half incident and unless you spoke with and were told same by the manager of the Promenade, I will not. I understand your complaint has to do with principle not what you put in your coffee, so you made your point. You just didn't convince me it's so. And lastly, as stated before....you have not because you ask not.
  4. That is just nuts. Yes, they are a company, who needs to report gains not losses, but my experience since 2004 is that they do care and most certainly, at least in our experience, have bent over backwards to please us. Sorry you never experienced it. One question though...you say " Why do you cruise RCCL anyways? Just curious
  5. If it has even a smidgeon of "crab" in it, it can be labeled a crab cake...just sayin. I like more crispy and bigger lumps of real crab, but I'll eat theirs any day...I love crab cake. Unless you stood around inspecting the production line on crab cakes, you cannot make that definitive statement and be taken seriously. In fact, I'm going to ask that question of the Head waiter in MDR next month, I'll report back on how much "crab" is in them.😉
  6. WOW If that is truly ya'll's attitude, why aren't you sailing some other line...don't get it!
  7. One should be allowed to say anything they want to on here, negative or not...JMHO...but we know that is not the case. However, I should be allowed to say....trivial is an understatement here. Use of the word "intentional" is the rub. You do not possibly know that to be true. I never get a kink in my tail over this kind of thing. You don't know what happened, it could've been just a mistake, or a tired worker who just wasn't paying attention. I would've turned around, asked for a "half n half" and been completely happy. Attitude is everything, but OP is entitled to think, feel and say anything they like.
  8. Until you are assigned you don't have a category rate so they can't Process it yet, can't determine the difference...of say a 2I or a CB both balconies but different categories. That's what they told me anyway, I spoke to 3 different agents. Funny though that we do have a muster station! How would we have that location without knowing exactly where they put us...sounds like a runaround to me!
  9. Have you tried Mike's trick for scanning your set sail pass bar code. If he is correct, the last 4 numbers are your cabin #...I'm counting on that. I have also tried to pick another room and the agents said they can do nothing until a cabin number appears on their screens. The next date that may happen is on Docs day which is a week out for us. As the luggage tags will be on the contract to print. So.....we wait. If I were you I'd just wait, and not waste the extra $.
  10. You're right but I found tons of photos of Quantum class ships right up to Dawes, so the point is they can get close enough...Bad luck OP
  11. You can still reserve it right onboard, it seemed like there were several open slots when we did. And I think it was worth the $19pp. Quite exciting to swing out over the side and look at the whole side of the ship from up there, scary too, but I loved it!
  12. I found this pic of us as we returned to the ship, you can see she is quite close and I am certain she is larger than Quantum. OP's cruise was hampered by flow ice, that's all. He needs to book another😉
  13. And there is a lot of debris right in front of the glaciers that have been pushed ahead of the flow. I doubt you can get too close in any ship. We did the boat that comes to the ship picks you up and it got very close but still they have to leave room for the waves generated by the calving, this is on that excursion boat at Dawes: It was extremely close! And worth the $$ in my opinion. We were on Celebrity Solstice which is one of their larger ships, but it was about 500 yards behind where our boat was
  14. That sounds like you had it all! We had to cancel our Princess to Alaska during Pandemic...boohoo the deal was fantastic and I liked how they assigned us to our own travel agent and she kept in touch the whole time...hated to cx. I refuse to sail out of Seattle on principle alone. Vancouver is much cleaner, friendlier and you can't beat Canada Place just walk down an escalator and on the ship...Love it.
  15. Hubbard is our all time favorite glacier and IMHO is better than any in the Bay. THey are all smaller. It depends on which itin one chooses to a great extent.
  16. Exactly, that's why we always book September for Alaska cruises, never disappointed...and delightful weather. I have dozens of ice calving vids and pics. Not a good idea to dun the ship just because conditions weren't exactly conducive to seeing them up close, you might have been on any cruise ship in any location. It's really a crap shoot. This is Hubbard and Dawes blow that:
  17. I got my notice this morning for Sept. '24 cruise. O well it's not that much, but I resent it sorta cuz we never leave the ship anymore there.
  18. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VX3fzTYoIKg Another good one
  19. Plenty of places. Good one is in Solarium on the Solarium Bistro patio with tables and chairs, we often go there as I don't want a lot of sun, peaceful and usually plenty of beds, loungers etc. There are two levels, you may have to go up around the bar, but plenty of seating with or without sun...believe me there's no problem unless you have to be on the main pool deck. That's where it can get crowded. This pic is Allure but basically the same. The bar is in the middle upstairs, LOTS of seating up there. We usually sit to the left under the second floor Great video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hQLj3XZeD0
  20. But it wasn't that much, I bought 6 of them at one time, seems like the metal ones were free though (not the spirit but the glass), I only have 2 of them, they were several colors, I got purple ones, different color for different flavors, but that was way back in the early 2000's. I still think I'd like Amaretto or something after dinner wish they still did them.
  21. We have the blue bottom shots and the metal shots, the glass Mexican martinis glasses and several Coke takers.
  22. I wish they'd put one in my cabin. We have a DeLonghi Magnifica at home and we go through Lavazza Espresso 2.5 lb bag of whole beans every 3 weeks or so. Order them 3 at a time off Amazon for $14.99 a bag. I don't consider it bitter at all. But if you don't like Euro espresso you might. Lattes and Cappuccinos have lots of milk or cream (we're Keto as well) in them so the coffee has to be strong. Love me my Lattes and Cappuccinos! I think Starbucks is fine if you order quad shots! LOL
