  1. Oasis is grand but she is not ICON~ no way I'd give up our booking for any other ship and we've already made over $1000 just in increases. Couldn't book our cabin today for under $3500 and it's an interior. So no can do, we keep this one or don't go. I'm unwilling to wait 2 or 3 yrs to cruise ICON. As far as itinerary, that doesn't matter in the least to us. We've been to every port 5 times, been there done that, we have not cruised a ship like this one ever. All things are NOT equal.
  2. No rhyme or reason to this 🤪 I expected the contract/luggage tags to be printable this morning 30 days out, but no...not there yet. I have had room assigned day of cruise and a week after booking...gotta scratch your head about that!
  3. Our room assignment just appeared on our app and online set sail pass, and it is indeed what showed up on the bar code just like Mike said. Neat trick, thanks Mike. We are very pleased. Now just waiting for the luggage tags on end of contract to appear and we'll be set. It is exactly 31 days out.
  4. Beaches on the West end toward Tabayana are much better, coral, critters and sand. On the cruise terminal side or windward side, much rockier and water much more turbulent, we have done both, only went to Maya Key once way back in 2008, the other 10 times we always went over to the west end. We will again in September. Bananarama is nice too just up from Tabayana, no frills just beach bar and food but nice beach. Cheap too.
  5. I have cancelled, for instance, the Beach CLub more than once in a cruise even and the money was instantly refunded like the next day, so I could rebook it at the lower price. That includes if you purchase any of the packages with drinks or food, you should be getting your refund in a very timely fashion...cruise fares etc are a different matter entirely.
  6. For the last 2 days it won't save my login info and I have to re-sign in every time I check on my cruises😠
  7. I think there is a discrepancy here. Papaflamingo quoted AllyFree. He wasn't the one who booked the cruise, that was the OP CTinaonthesea. He was talking about refunds on purchases on the planner.,
  8. Yep, I don't see any kids particularly wanting to be in that pool at all.
  9. Really funny that boarding times flucuate so much. I checked in at 5:00 am the day our check in opened and the first boarding slot was 11:30 to 12. Not 11. We always try to be at terminal in the first group. Sept 3rd
  10. And no it isn't forbidden and they don't take it down. Some cabins are better than others, this is aft on Voyager. Side cabin balconies are harder but possible, they are mostly not wide enough. We also had Voyager aft balcony 7388 but can't find the good pic. In the next one you can barely see the end of the hammock We use these
  11. You've experienced that? I haven't......pity for you...however you miss the point AGAIN. Twin Dad's point....what you just described is not a mistake...but the milk problem seems to be one.
  12. Twin Dad absolutely makes the point since page 1, no conspiracy, carelessness happens. Still here yet...........
  13. OK Mike here's todays info: SUDDENLY things have changed on our App, no change to My Cruises Set Sail Pass at all, but in the phone the set sail pass has added a deck number 6. It wasn't there yesterday. We are exactly 35 days out now. I don't think that number would just suddenly appear in the app if we were not officially assigned.
  14. I can totally believe how entitled some guests are Funny, I never see this kind of behavior, maybe I'm just oblivious and having too much fun to notice. I met a pinnacle on Odyssey, Betty and her husband, you'd never know their status by looking or talking. Delightful people.
  15. That was a good one too it was a huge boat with a saloon, snacks and hot chocolate really toasty inside.
  16. My favorite was Michelle's Island Wings float plane...loved it! It was heaven, we saw so much, mountain goats/sheep in snow and set down on a mirror inlet where the silence was deafening! So beautiful. Worth every penny, at the time (2014) it cost us $235 each and we went with friends. Mendenhall was a treat as well, Nuggat falls is fantastic and we saw a black bear on the boardwalk. The whale boat was great only 6 of us with our captain on Harv n Marvs tour. Cpt. Jane followed a resident whale called Spot around the bay and we saw otters, seals etc. Worth it too, can't remember the amt but was cheaper than the plane.
  17. if I want things to be "as usual", I'd stay home and save thousands of $s. Wow, this would never keep me off a ship...
  18. I always try to book starboard because the majority of our cruises have always docked starboard to pier, I'd say 80% but ya never know. Some may rather just look at the ocean, I like to watch what's happening on the pier.
  19. Key word Grace. I put the Do not disturb sign on my door all the time because it's not necessary. And I don't require a new towel every time I shower. Every couple days is sufficient. I don't mind picking up after myself, I keep a ship shape cabin without any help from the steward at all because I can't stand clutter. It may take 45 seconds to do that if you keep it uncluttered from the beginning. Big deal. I lightly spread our bed in the morning cuz I can't stand rumpled bedding (that takes less than 30 seconds), have taken dishes out of my room multiple times and laid then on the cart in the hall along with damp towels, and I keep shoes and clothes in the ample storage in our cabins...period. I am OCD and that's how we roll in our shire. You could visit my home any time, any day without embarrassment. It's always spotless. I have a robot and 2 vacuums and a dust buster and Shark floor cleaner. Some days my floors get sucked twice, we live in the dusty country. That's how my Momma taught me. She was a clean underwear person too! No embarrassment there. I don't change my sheets at home but once a week on cleaning day (Saturday at my house) which is adequate so I usually tell the steward not to bother but once a cruise. Who really changes sheets every day at home...sorry, I will never believe that one! I have walked by cabins with the door open and the cleaning going on where it looks like a tornado was in there...people in general are slobs. Not me. But...to each his own, it doesn't bother me a bit that your cabin may look like the wreck of the Hesperus...what was that anyway, Longfellow poem! Mine never will and this new policy isn't even on my radar. I wouldn't even miss it. Neither is Half n Half. It's all relative, one man's Ugggg is another man's Meh! Happy just to be on the water...always.
