  1. I Was hoping to replace my cancelled tour of India with a trip this January but after reading all the stories of long waits, cancelled appointments and so on, I changed my plans. It seems more trouble than it’s worth. I’d definitely be pointing out to SS that they have a responsibility to make you aware of this before they take your money and should certainly either offer FCC or refund the booking under the circumstances. Maybe your TA can apply a little pressure too as really they should have made you aware also. I Hope it all works out for you.
  2. Thank you all for your lovely thoughts. They mean a great deal.Gentleman Harvey does indeed have a mass on his spleen about the size of a melon. Vet seems very hopeful. I’m just in 2 minds about the op. He is perfectly happy and healthy and not facing any immediate danger. I’m tempted to wait a while. The mass is probably benign. Little Bertie has had his bloods taken to rule out a few things but the Vet believes it’s a neurological condition he’s developing. His litter sister is showing all of the same symptoms. They’re both very special little men. Anyway here are some happy pics of my boys.
  3. I’d absolutely disagree. Before this whole debacle the basis was cruise only with air and transfers as an add on, sometimes included but mostly not. Rather than getting rid of p2p they need to stop actively trying to make it so unattractive. I, Personally, would never book d2d.
  4. God bless you Lola, I’m a coward really but I’m hoping for the best news xxx
  5. Oh bugger. I’m only about 12 miles away from the TA cable landing point so god only knows what the poor buggers down south must be experiencing. Maybe Elon has a point. I’m dreading tomorrow. My 13 year old Incredible gentleman sprocker is going in for x-rays for a mass on his spleen and my 7 month old pup is in for full bloods after his litter sister has been diagnosed with a cognitive congenital brain disorder. He is the sweetest boy ever but struggles to walk or run. Hopefully I’ll just end up with a wonky pup and an old boy that is with us for a good while longer. Harvey has had a new lease of life only a few days after being given a miracle drug to stop his arthritis pain. I’m not sure how I’ll cope if the news isn’t good. At least Kitties problem was easily solved. She had a lump on her teet. The vet stuck a needle in and got sprayed up his sleeve. A Simple Cyst. Kitty and Rosie slept in this position for over an hour ago yesterday hugging each other but looking back at the pic, it does look like she’s strangling her.
  6. Anyone else getting this today? Third time for me.
  7. Sounds like they’re finding increasingly inventive ways to annoy their passengers. They seem to be of the mindset that if they make the p2p conditions so punitive that people will be encouraged to book d2d instead. The non refundable aspect, the lack of VS days the complete lack of flexibility repricing etc all makes it seem like are deliberately trying to make p2p as unattractive as they are possibly able to. D2d could be a great offering for those that want it, well it would be if it wasn’t for all of the teething problems, the big problem that they have created though through this strategy is that many of their pax aren’t d2d kinda people so that option will never appeal to some of us as we like to add bits on before and after but we don’t appreciate being punished for not taking it. It’s just another poorly thought out strategy that is backfiring spectacularly by annoying their loyal customers that prefer to make their own arrangements.
  8. This one looks even more sinister. I Promise you she wasn’t trying to strangle her.
  9. My two girls (mother and daughter) were asleep together, hugging each other for over an hour yesterday and I took this pic. It really was so cute but the pic looks like mum was holding daughter by the scruff of the neck.
  10. Well Larry, the Downing Street cat has had quite a lot to put up with lately. They come in and then want to go straight back out is anything that any cat servant would completely understand. I Do completely understand my position in my household. My wonderful boys (the dogs) are absolutely devoted to me and are constantly looking for ways to improve my life, bringing me smelly toys and so on. The girls (the cats) never express anything less than disgust at my pitiful efforts to please them. I Am offered a temporary reprieve when I cook scallops for them but it is short lived.
  11. I’m so sorry mchell810. They leave a hole that will never be filled yet, at the same time, a mind full of happy memories. It takes a time before one outweighs the other. I’m so sorry that my post upset you. There will come a day when the happy memories outweigh the sadness.
  12. The Covid cough is a very dry cough, not a congested one so it’s probably good news, they are only suffering from something that the world has already learned to live with.
  13. I for one am very excited about the new company, I Just hope that Manfredi doesn’t fill the ships with his poorly mannered friends that can dominate an entire venue as he did often on SS.
  14. For anyone that doesn’t know, a lettuce was pitted against Liz Truss last week to see which would last the longest. https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2022/oct/20/iceberg-lettuce-in-blonde-wig-outlasts-liz-truss
  15. I Find most vegetarian food is greatly improved by placing a nice Pork Chop on top of it. The car is a 2011 Jaguar XF 3.0D premium luxury. And the walnut is beautiful. What? These old things? 😉
  16. PS to my colonial cousins, I Was a passenger at the time, not the driver.
  17. Well yesterday was my birthday but not my birthday. As we had a wedding booked for the day for a rather ungracious bride with badly spelled tattoos (in fairness dictionaries are few and far between in prison) I Decided to postpone my birthday by a day. It’s something I’m getting used to. I Should have celebrated my 50th on the Moon in Dubrovnik Oct 2020. I Decided when that was cancelled that I wouldn’t be 50 until I visited Venice so I celebrated my 49 and 12 quarters birthday today with special friends and family. We had pre dinner cocktails on the way and a fabulous meal. Things were complicated slightly by inviting my vegetarian brother but that situation is always eased by placing piles of prawns in front of him. I Did apologise to the staff for inviting him. Anyway, it was a fabulous evening.
  18. Well I fired a couple of shots today. I Think I’m due back on the Keto.
