  1. I have no idea when this document is dated...but it seems to answer all of the pertinent questions: https://www.cruisewithafriend.com/pages/princess-ez-check-service-for-luggage-6574 This doc was from a travel agency but seems specific to Princess. It may or may not be current info.
  2. EZAir *typically* mandates flights no earlier than 4 hours after disembarking...even in Fort Lauderdale where the airport is about 15 minutes away! I personally would be a little nervous waiting until 9:30 to make an 11:30 flight 2 hours away. That suggests to me that the Princess shuttle will leave no later than 8:30...maybe even sooner. Just my 2 cents worth...and that *is* all it's worth! 😄
  3. Like you said...that's a VERY Southern "thing". Easy to find here at home in the South but highly unlikely on board. Sorry!
  4. I assume you are speaking of a Princess supplied shuttle... ? Take this with a huge grain of salt; we have never been on a cruise that ended by docking at midnight. All of our cruises have docked at either 6:00 or 7:00am with shuttles leaving anywhere from 8:00 to 9:30. YMMV!
  5. Hah! Have never seen that. I learn something almost every day here on CC!
  6. I have to disagree as far as the Crown Grill is concerned. There really is no equivalent available in the MDR if you want a good steak.
  7. There were none in our particular cabin on the Island 2 weeks ago...but I saw that the steward's cart had quite a few hanging on it. I imagine we could have simply asked for one...but we have more than we would ever need.
  8. On the Island 2 weeks ago...our safe was just a bit finicky but it worked. Those pressure sensitive keypads on *all* electronic devices seem to start acting up after a fairly short time period. As someone previously said...just start playing with the keypad and see which numbers work. Then just use a code using only those numbers.
  9. Interesting! 5 cruises since the restart and every terminal agent wanted to see my original...
  10. On the Island 2 weeks ago DW did not care for the "hardwired" dryer so she asked our steward. He brought "a good one" according to the boss.
  11. I don't know if they just haven't installed the token system on the Discovery yet, but back in August (2022) the self-serve laundry on deck 14 was totally free. Even detergent was there for the taking on a shelf. You just threw your stuff in and turned on the washer or dryer as needed.
  12. Just to clarify... "ship.princess.com" *might* confuse some people. If you are on the Regal it would be "regal.princess.com" or "majestic.princess.com" if on the Majestic. Note: this is after going on airplane mode and connecting to the ship wifi. It does NOT work off the ship! I have used this instead of the app for anything relating to events and locations ever since the app "forced us" to go that way. I stumbled on this pre-pandemic...much easier to see the schedule (unless you're holding a Patter in your hand! 😄)
  13. Assuming that you are watching the drill video in your cabin, the medallion is what senses that multiple people are watching in your cabin and everybody "gets credit" for "watching"....even if you are busy unpacking or getting your cabin situated.
  14. We just returned from a Northern Europe cruise on the Island. Pretty much ANY ship that has the MUTS screen will be showing a movie(s) even if it is too cold and nobody is out there watching. It was too cold (in our opinion) for this cruise...but they really weren't showing anything that interested us. On a previous cruise where the weather was a bit more forgiving (still fairly cold) we watched "The Martian" under blankets. That was pretty interesting seeing all of the "outer space" scenes out under the open skies!
  15. As others have stated...seating is VERY uncomfortable. I've seen trivia and Bingo held in there occasionally. Also a "culinary demonstration" was held there (I forget which ship). This was not the one where the head chef and Maitre D" do their little show...this was very talented individuals from the galley (not that the others are not talented! 😄). They did a very in-depth fruit and melon carving demonstration.
  16. If Princess was still in possession of the Pacific we would sail her in a heartbeat! We were so disappointed when we learned that she had been sold during the pandemic. We had just gotten off of her as she was continuing the world cruise on from LA. (We had just done the first segment...Panama Canal transit from FL to LA.) She continued on from LA just as all of the pandemic started breaking loose. We were following the rest of her journey since we were so caught up with that ship. The Princess got as far as the Indian Ocean before the cruise was cancelled and ordered to return back to the States. She only carried 675 pax so that should give you an idea as to her age.
  17. That may very well have been the cabin on our deck (Dolphin). There was one cabin maybe about 8 or 9 down from ours that had the small table. However...rather early on in the cruise we got on an elevator with another gentleman who was wearing a mask and pulling his luggage. He got off on 8. This was in the evening after dinner. I *think* the ship had already left port. The only thing we could figure was that he was moving to the (supposed) quarantine deck.
  18. Crooners (on many ships) is situated to the side of the Piazza, still allowing easy listening to whatever music is being played down on the lowest level. On the Island it is not to the side but situated on the centerline of the ship, still overlooking the Piazza. I know it really shouldn't have made any difference at all but I liked this layout a bit better.
  19. I guess I'm going to have to show my ignorance here... What happened? I've not heard of anything drastic that happened on the Island. Please elaborate.
  20. Just off the Island last week...they had the latest (I think) GoPro units in a display case. A couple of years ago I attended one of the "seminars" (aka sales talk) on the current GoPro model. I think it was the Hero 7? (Could be wrong...) Anyway, I was very impressed with the capabilities at that time but I just really didn't need that type of camera at the time. Still don't really...but it sure was calling my name!
  21. We both did fish & chips. Very good. The bread & butter pudding was very good as well.
  22. I thought this was an automatic thing if you have an FCD on file. But then...you said you had the booking already held, so maybe that is a loophole in the logic?
  23. There are also European style plug(s) behind the bed...if you use a CPAP you can get an adapter for that and not have cords running across the floor.
  24. I've never cruised the Ruby...but every other ship I've been on have had sinks. We were just on the Island for the past 2 weeks...it has sinks. Every Royal class ship I've been on (most of them) have had sinks. Interested to hear what others say...
