  1. I've had EZ Air changes a few times in the past year due to airline schedule changes. If I wasn't given new flights, or if I wasn't happy with the new flights offered, I've been able to talk directly to EZ Air and get flights I was satisfied with. The original fare was protected in all cases. This has been the case whether the flights had been ticketed or not.
  2. The 3 ships doing the Voyage of the Glacier route between Vancouver and Whittier in 2023 (Majestic, Sapphire, and Grand) all have covered pools. The 4 ships doing round trips out of Vancouver (Crown), Seattle (Discovery and Royal) and San Francisco (Ruby) don't have covered pools.

  4. For my last 2 cruises earlier this year, I've been able to pre-purchase internet with the 50% discount applied using the app. For my upcoming cruise, the 50% discount is not showing.
  5. After I updated the app, I get "Good evening, First Name Only!" on my home screen.
  6. One thing I've done in a situation like this is to make a booking and choose the courtesy hold option. That will generate a booking number that you can quote to the agent.
  7. And it's not just border restrictions being lifted. As part of the same announcement, the government of Canada also announced that pre-boarding Covid testing will no longer be required for passengers on cruise ships operating in Canada. Official news release here From the release: "Cruise measures are also being lifted, and travellers will no longer be required to have pre-board tests, be vaccinated, or use ArriveCAN. "
  8. Here is the link to Government of Canada news release As stated in the release: "Cruise measures are also being lifted, and travellers will no longer be required to have pre-board tests, be vaccinated, or use ArriveCAN."
  9. Along with relaxation of border restrictions announced today, including there no longer being a requirement to be vaccinated or use ArriveCan, the Canadian government also announced that, as of October 1, passengers on cruise ships operating in Canada will no longer need to take pre-boarding Covid tests or be vaccinated.

  12. If mandatory ArriveCan is dropped, then it will definitely apply to all entries, including those arriving by cruise ship. Pre-cruise testing is an entirely different issue, and I assume would be dealt with independently from any changes to ArriveCan requirements. The testing is not based on entry into Canada; it's for cruise ships operating in Canada. There seems to be a lot of confusion about that difference. ArriveCan is under the authority of the Canada Border Services Agency, since it deals with entry into Canada. The pre-cruise testing is under the authority of Transport Canada, since it deals with regulating a mode of transportation operating in Canada.
  13. I wonder how long until the U.S. drops its requirement for visitors entering the country to be vaccinated.
  14. There seems to be a lot of confusion between the requirements to enter Canada (of which ArriveCan is part) vs. requirements for cruise ships operating in Canada. For example, the current requirement for a negative Covid test prior to boarding for cruises that operate in Canada is not an entry requirement - it's something that's required for all cruise ships operating in Canada regardless of whether or not you enter Canada during the cruise.
  15. There's an article in today's Globe & Mail confirming September 30 as the end date for mandatory ArriveCan: Canada to make ArriveCan optional, drop COVID-19 vaccine requirement at the border by Sept. 30
  16. There have been stories in the news recently indicating that the Canadian government is likely to drop the mandatory requirement to complete ArriveCAN before entering Canada. This could happen as soon as the end of September.
  17. Once on board, you can see all the menus through the Dine My Way section of the Medalion app.
  18. Grand and Sapphire also have covered pools, so that is available on all 3 ships sailing this itinerary. Of the 3, my preference would be Sapphire. Along with the covered pool, it has a full promenade deck (which Majestic doesn't) and the Sapphire's promenade deck is wider than on the Grand Princess.
  19. What I was trying to explain is that Covid tests are not required for entry into Canada. However, a Covid test is required prior to boarding for cruise ships that operate in Canada. That is two different things. For example, if you are on a Vancouver to Whittier cruise, you currently still need to take a Covid test prior to boarding, even though you are not entering Canada on that cruise (if you are coming from outside Canada, you would have already entered Canada to get to Vancouver, for which no test is required). Incorrectly referring to Canada's Covid test requirement for cruise ships operating in Canada as a requirement for entry into Canada likely led to the OP's confusion around mistakenly thinking they would need a Covid test to enter Canada by train.
  20. A Covid test is not required to enter Canada, regardless of what mode of transportation you are on. Currently, Canada does require a negative Covid test prior to boarding a cruise ship that leaves from or stops in Canada. However, there is a good chance that will change by next year, so I wouldn't worry about it now.
  21. The cruise was round trip from New York. We stopped at Halifax and Sydney, NS, then had two stops in Greenland, then returned to Canada for a stop in St. John's. We then returned to New York. This was an example where we entered Canada for a second time when we stopped in St. John's, but that did not require completing ArriveCan a second time (we did have to fill in the Canadian customs landing cards twice).
  22. There is an exception to this if you re-enter Canada a second time on a cruise. I was just on a Canada/Greenland cruise. We had to complete ArriveCan prior to arriving in Halifax. Our cruise then left Canada and went up to Greenland. After Greenland, we re-entered Canada with a stop in St. John's, but we were not required to do ArriveCan a second time.
  23. You do not need to upload Covid test results into ArriveCan, since a Covid test is not required for entry into Canada. The purpose of ArriveCan is to confirm vaccination status.
  24. I wish Princess would at least use the ships the already have with covered pools (Majestic, Grand, Sapphire, Diamond, Coral, and Island) for the cool-weather cruises. As I mentioned earlier, I swam every day on this cruise. The water temperature generally wasn't too bad, but the hard part was getting out of the pool into the cold air afterward! As you mentioned, the covered pools are a great place to hang out during those colder sea days.
  25. I guess it's all relative. The weather at the Greenland stops was much better this time than during our stop at Nanortalik in 2013. That time, there was so much dense fog that they had to suspend the tender service for a couple of hours, and it was much colder than during our visit this year.
