Next time, I'll have to try Lincoln Center booth. Thanks for the tip about moving seats, it never occurred for me to ask. At 6'2", I have trouble fitting into some seats. I love the beauty and old fashion grandeur of some of the old theaters but man, are the seats cramped! And not very well laid out with restrooms and bars in the most inconvenient locations. Of course, $40+ for 2 drinks, I'm not hitting the bar too often,

From what I understand, many of those rules were from the company founder. He wanted to set the company apart from its competitors by making sure all the employees from top to bottom were clean-cut and professional looking, whether or not they were customer facing. I guess the no eating in the work place fell in line with the clean, organized & efficient look, I wonder in today's relaxed work environment with casual dress code, tattoo's, etc, what the rules were. And I've cut back to 2 cups of coffee in the morning. One to get the heart beating and one to get the brain working. 😁

I had low expectations for Wicked and loved it! One of my favorites, up there with Chicago, Book of Mormons, Spamalot, Kinky Boots & Come From Away. That's kinda what my taste in Broadway. I've usually waited 30-45 minutes. When the weather is nice & you've got a good crowd, time goes by quickly. I've never done it during the winter months.

I would buy it ahead of time to make sure you have the tickets you want, especially since you are traveling. While I've been surprised in the past by the amount of big, popular Broadway shows that were available on a Saturday, it is hit-or-miss. Sometimes the selection is great, other times disappointing in which case I walk away & get a nice dinner somewhere. But I that flexibility as live 90 minutes away. Also, sometimes the tickets are the less desirable last row, way off to the side of the theater seats. 30 seconds for Time Square seems about right. The only reason I ever venture near it is for the TKTS discount ticket booth which offers 50% off same day Broadway tickets, which can be a substantial savings. Glad the Rockefeller tree was up & still lit. Bonus, no crowds! Were you able to venture to Bryant Park?

I had to look it up. Smoking was banned from domestic flight under 2 hours in 1988 and then in 1990, domestic flights under 6 hours. It wasn't until 2000 that it was banned from all domestic and international flights. I remember my first time to California the plane still had a smoking section. I thought that was in 1991 or 1992 so I guess my flight from NYC to San Fran was over 6 hours? Definitely no suits worn by men or dresses by ladies. Or vice-versa. Probably the TV writers wanted to give the show look more glamours look. Kind of like commercials for casino's where everyone is dressed like it's NYE...or cruise ship MDR circa 1980's. 😄 Never seems to be that way in Atlantic City or Foxwoods.

I interviewed with UPS for a corporate IT job in 1990 and they had a strict no facial hair policy. I think I could have kept my mustache but the beard had to go, even though I kept it short & neatly trimmed. The real deal breaker was no eating or drinking at your desk. At the time I was a caffeine addict and couldn't function from 8 am until noon unless I had a cup of coffee in my hand at all times. For those 2 reasons, I turned down a job offer even though the salary & benefits were better. A week later, I had 2 other job offers from other companies that had competitive salaries & I could eat and drink at my desk and keep my beard.

In the past few years, some gray has intruded in my beard. At first it was just a patch here and there but now seems more evenly distributed. Friends & family have told me the "salt & pepper" look fits me. I'm still trying to figure out if that's a compliment or not. 🤔

I trim it myself at home. Once a week, it's super easy and only takes a few minutes. Any mid-priced, name brand beard trimmer kit will do. I've used them all - Braun, Wahl, Norelco, Remington. I'm pretty sure all but the cheapest models come with self-sharpening blades & don't need to be oiled regularly. At least. not the ones I bought in the last 20 or so years. The only thing I really look for is the ability to run both with and without a cord as I hate it when my rechargeable trimmer runs out of juice suddenly mid-trim. I can just plug it in & continue on my way. Although most models now have a quick charge feature that gives you a 50% charge in a minute or two to allow you to finish. I guess for safety reasons, corded trimmers are becoming more rare. And I user a electric razor for the areas around the beard.

I've had my beard & mustache since 1987, never shaved it off once. Not even sure I remember how to shave, I'd probably end up cutting my jugular. 😀

When my step daughter moved to Houston back in 2016, I went apartment hunting with her. Middle of September, 95+ degrees during the day, high 70's/low 80's at night and about 12,000% humidity. Many of the apartments we looked at had fireplaces which I couldn't understand. Who would want a fire when it was so hot? I just assumed it was decorative. Well, she ended up getting an apartment without a fire place and that following Jan/Feb she wish she had. Even thought the temperatures were in the 40's, she always said 40 degrees in Houston feels like 10 degrees in NY, I guess because of the dampness/humidity. You have more snow on the ground in Dallas in my section of NY. 😃 Although that's going to change tomorrow. Supposed to get 1-3 inches which is annoying. Not enough to use the snowblower but enough for me to shovel.

My BIL lives off Seneca Lake, I usually visit 3-4 times a year. I think I've been to every winery & brewery around Seneca & Cayuga lakes. Need to start checking out the other lakes🙂

Glad your mom is doing better & the best time to drive in the snow is when there are no other cars on the road.

I have to take look & see it in action. Seems like it might eliminate on of my pet elevator peeves, where the first person in presses the button and then just stands there, blocking both entry to elevator & the buttons. However, it could be replaced by another potential pet peeve whereby I'm on one side of the elevator bank & my elevator arrives on the other side, will I have time to fight the crowds to get to it? Like I said, I need to see it in Matts place as well as real life action before speculating too much.
