  1. In 2014, we did a British Isles cruise (out of Dover) that included Dublin as well as UK ports, and our passports were not held. The only time we had passports held by a cruise ship was on an Eastern Mediterranean cruise.
  2. Since it says disabled, it implies that at some point it was a working option. But I also never remember it working. I wonder if anyone can say they used it in the past, and if so how long ago.
  3. No need to be sorry. One of the reasons to read these forums is to learn things you did not know.
  4. Is it possible that passengers do not make complaints because they do not expect Carnival to follow through on them?
  5. When we did an escorted tour of Peru, we and everyone else on the tour were required to turn in our passports at every hotel.
  6. You do not know they were on independent tours as opposed to just exploring on their own. Independent tour operators know that bad publicity will kill off their business. They will make it their mission to get you back to the ship on time.
  7. Thank you, that was very informative. And those sounded much more worthy of having a contract terminated than any passenger complaint, especially during a time of crew shortages.
  8. I married an art teacher, but I am sure my art is as bad as yours. But, I have learned a lot about museums.
  9. NO, you cannot do that. Yes, you can click on the envelope, but you will receive a message that that system is DISABLED.
  10. You said in response to someone else's problem, that that is why you never use a TA when that person did not use a TA. So I can read! They booked direct. When there was a problem, they had to talk to someone. Since you seem to never want to talk to someone, what do you do if a problem arises?
  11. I have no problem re-wearing clothes, but DW is a totally different story.
  12. Tried to look at excursions for our various ports. On the ports we have not booked excursions, none show. (They used to show, which is how we found the excursions we did book.) I called NCL and was switched to the technical department. I explained this happened not only on my computer using Edge, but I also tried on a computer in the public library that uses Firefox. Their answer was their website only works well on Chrome, not Edge or Firefox. BTW, also is no longer showing the place to book shows or dining when clicking on the day in port.
  13. And yet a poster in this thread took this experience as a reason NOT to use a ravel agent. 🤦‍♂️
  14. Glad it worked out, Six hours, wow. I think they count on most people not having your persistence. Lucky they did not "accidentally" delete the recording of your phone call.
  15. Have you been reading the thread? HE DID NOT USE A TRAVEL AGENT, HE BOOKED DIRECTLY WITH PRINCESS!
  16. Hmmm, maybe I should see if DW could apply for a job as a watercolor instructor. She is a retired art teacher, and watercolors is one of her main interests. If they also did quilting and/or crocheting, she could double up. And BTW, I am also terrible at art.
  17. We did the Carnival Bob Marley bus excursion. We both loved it. And it took us to a part of Jamaica not seen by the regular tourists who will not wander out of the sight of the ship. 😊
  18. No smoking anything is a fire hazard, but I guess weed makes it another violation as it is illegal on a ship.
  19. Now if he was also smoking on the balcony while urinating, you could really double report him and maybe get some action from Carnival. 😒
  20. I asked our TA recently whether the OBC we had from him was refundable or not. I was surprised that it was not.
  21. People enjoy different things. I enjoyed the turtle farm. I guess someone might enjoy "going to hell", but I saw it as just a tourist trap. And I am not a beach person.
  22. When we sailed on the Epic from Barcelona, it also sailed from Rome and a port in France, I think Marseilles. I do no remember being charged VAT, but that was in 2012, so things may very well have changed.
  23. And now I have not only found it, but watched the first episode. Thank you both.
  24. I would not have found it without your correction. Thank you.
