  1. Before you follow that strategy, I spoke earlier this week to our TA and he said that he is selling a lot of cruises on the Prima and Viva as people are looking for a new ship.
  2. We in 2014 had roundtrip train tickets back to the port (in our case Rosyth), but the last train had departed by the time we got to the station. We had no trouble finding a taxi back to the port.
  3. They'll say it's their cruise vacation, they will do whatever they want. So now in addition to chair hogging at the pool, we have chair hogging at the buffet. 🤦‍♂️
  4. I figured it was the wi-fi not being good enough. If the ship had really sunk, it probably would have made it into the news.
  5. No word in over 24 hours from either @Hlitner or @cruisemom42. I can think of only 2 alternatives, either the ship has sunk 😢, or there is no longer an internet connection good enough for them to post.
  6. We did an excursion to Mayan ruins when docked in Belize. They were spectacular. I was banned from donating blood by the Red Cross for a year for going there. If I had only ventured into Belize City, I would not have been banned.
  7. Yes, I believe the term for what the present day headline writers do is clickbait.
  8. OP here, I tried in my header to show that the vast majority cheered. You are correct that the article's headline makes them sound about equal. But our headlines really about accuracy, or are they meant to get the attention of potential readers?
  9. You're welcome. I found it interesting and definitely worth sharing.
  10. There have been several mentions, including by you, that this is a warm weather do things outdoors ship. And you did mention some weather times where it sounds like outdoors did not work. I wonder if you could say what if anything there was to do on those times. We are sailing on the Prima this summer. The itinerary is from London (Southampton) to Reykjavik, Iceland. We are hoping for good weather, but obviously would not be surprised by some days that the weather does not cooperate.
  11. Carnival cruise passengers said other cruisers cheered — and jeered —when their ship rescued 24 migrants adrift at sea (msn.com)
  12. Thanks for your review. We will be on this summer, but I am not really expecting a lot of kids on an 11 day cruise from London (Southampton) to Reykjavik. BTW, spoke to our TA yesterday and he said both the Prima and Viva are selling well as cruise customers seem to be wanting new ships.
  13. We will be on the Prima this summer and have to remember this option. We don't eat meat, but do eat fish. That makes the fixed menu have far less choices, but a vegetarian menu would add to the choices. I do believe I have read on these boards that to use this menu you have to order a day in advance. Correct?
  14. Our next cruise is this summer on the NCL Prima starting in London (Southampton) and ending in Reykjavik, with an overnight there before disembarkation. Other ports are Amsterdam, Bruges, 3 ports in Norway, and 2 more in Iceland before Reykjavik. The second sea day is between Norway and Iceland and will be on our wedding anniversary. I should add that we missed out on a Princess Norwegian Fjords cruise in 2020, and will be getting to some of those missed ports this time.
  15. Are you sure they charged you $25 for the extra days? We have a one day deviation, and we each got a $25 CREDIT.
  16. "It is company policy" sounds like the "because I said so" that we all remember our parents saying. (I hope I did not say that to our son, but I probably did. 🤦‍♂️🤣
  17. If NCL is giving out incorrect information about a port they use, I would think that should matter. Also, one has to make it to their private tour. I would assume that NCL does what other cruise lines do in giving priority in tenders to their own excursions.
  18. Thanks in advance, that would be helpful. If you cannot dock, we definitely cannot being larger. If you can, maybe there is a chance, but it would not be definite.
  19. I got a similar reply when I posted on our cruise's roll call and asked for anyone to have that NCL confirmation to give the information on it. Also said dock, but the poster was skeptical, as am I. Perhaps when you return from your July cruise, you can post the definitve answer whether the Prima can dock there or has to use tenders because it is not small enough to dock.
  20. Ok 🤞 that we will not need to tender. More worried about the time it takes to tender off a ship that is not very small than the actual act of tendering.
  21. We have always found that whatever country we are in the museums have free toilets. And since DW is (actually was as she is now retired) an art teacher, we frequent a lot of museums and always make sure to use the restrooms before departing.
  22. So, the 👍 I gave you for good weather partially worked. Maybe if more posters had also shared a 👍, it would have worked even better. At least you got some nice pictures. Thanks for sharing.
  23. I already e-mailed him. And they will talk to you if you use a TA, just not about changing things or anything financial except buying excursions or other extras.
