  1. That sounds odd. How did you figure it out that it had been cancelled since the tickets were in your room? Just hope they don't say you got the tickets, no refund.
  2. Raising the fare to eliminate tips would also raise the amount which would have to be covered by the trip insurance you buy. So that would be a cost to us, especially to senior citizens.
  3. Agree, but isn't the screening process when the passenger list is turned in supposed to discover any warrants before the embarkation?
  4. And they have really made it easier to leave the tip as it is just added or prepaid as opposed to you have to have the bills to fill the envelopes. It is really just more convenient the way they are doing it now.
  5. It seems customary for museums in Europe to close on Mondays. Unfortunate, as we found out when we stayed a day after a cruise in Copenhagen on a Monday.
  6. Out of curiosity, wouldn't renting a wheelchair under these circumstances be something that travel insurance would cover? I am sure if it was part of a hospital bill it would be covered.
  7. And they almost always say they are going to tio separately, and often claim more generously. Though every now and then one honestly says they totally do not believe in tips and won't leave anything.
  8. No, I've already come up with what should be their new marketing slogan earlier in this thread. "The cruise line that guarantees you a good night's sleep before your next day's great adventure."
  9. Whatever country we have been in, we have always found the restrooms to be free in museums. And since DW is a (now retired) art teacher, we tend to go to a lot of museums when we are off the ship.
  10. Thank you. I just showed them to my art teacher DW, and she said, "Very Nice".
  11. Be glad this did not happen on a Celebrity ship. Lawsuit: Cruise line allowed passenger’s body to decompose in ship’s cooler – KIRO 7 News Seattle
  12. What circumstances changed other than she saw something else? Did she decide she was comfortable with leaving her kids alone on the ship? She did say she was afraid of what would happen if she and her husband did not make it back to the ship. Did her kids all of a sudden get old enough to to legally consume alcohol? I rather doubt that.

  14. I am not sure that the OP could keep us all updated even if he wishes to do so. It is not like the FBI is going to keep him updated because he is the one who reported it to them. Maybe someday if he is called as a witness, he will be able to do so. But if that happens it would not be in the immediate future.
  15. We will also be on one of the London--Iceland cruises and are hoping for good weather with all the comments about the Prima being an outdoor ship Though as long as it's not raining or really miserable, DW will be swimming. And maybe not so great weather will make the pool less crowded. We once had a cruise that went two extra days because a hurricane kept us from returning to Fort Lauderdale. On one of them DW swam and was the only one as the pool had waves that made it look like the ocean. She swam in the morning, and by the afternoon, they had drained the pool.
  16. No, you take a reservation that you probably do not want (I won't leave my children alone on the ship and they are not going to be drinking wine), and someone else is shut out of it. That is pretty simple Yes, sometimes you have to change things as circumstances change, but this is different..
  17. Could you write some more about the sculpture park, please. DW is (actually now retired) art teacher, and I am sure we are going to spend some time there. For instance, how large is it?
  18. I was going to laugh at "suffering through a few more Temples", but then I remembered how I felt after a while about seeing more Greek antiquities. 🤣
  19. Yes, I have a Bob Marley tee shirt I bought in Jamaica, and it was made in China. Though I did not need to haggle as the seller immediately came down in price when I did not immediately say I'll take it. OTOH, I do have a Machu Piccu tee shirt bought in Peru that says made in Peru. (land trip, not a cruise)
  20. Do you know how much they charge for this tour?
  21. Go for it, none of us are getting any younger (spoken by someone who has a birthday coming up this week.)
  22. The OP should thank you for both your expertise and your practical advice.
