  1. Yes, the only way to really find out is to try booking with it.
  2. Good, I guess we are all going to find out how this plays out.
  3. Yes, I have found credit card companies are very good at this. Just make sure you let them know you attempted to settle this with the hotel and also contacted Priceline and Booking.com The credit card company will most likely want to know what effort you made to settle this before you contacted them.
  4. Yay, DW will especially be happy. I just showed this to her. Her reply was "We will have to practice." Of course, no guarantee this will also be on the London to Reykjavik cruise, but a good sign nevertheless.
  5. Yes, I always get the impression that you truly enjoy your job.
  6. I guess it is safe to say that what the OP proposes to do is a very rare occurrence. And thanks for the rest of the post, very intriguing.
  7. Thanks, and congratulations on 50 years. I am sure we will plan something. On our 20th, the first where our son was old enough to leave alone, we did an AI in Jamaica. Our first cruise, a Western Mediterranean, was on our 25th anniversary. On our 30th, we did a Baltic cruise. On our 35th we did another Western Mediterranean cruise. On our 40th we did an escorted land tour going to Prague, Budapest, and Vienna. I consider this next cruise a belated 45th. When we saw the itinerary in 2021 and both fell in love with it, I did not realize the ship had not yet been built and the cruise was for this year. The cruise actually starts in London (Southampton) and in addition to Bruge has Amsterdam, 3 stops in Norway, and finally 3 in Iceland ending with an overnight in Reykjavik before disembarking there. Funny, I used to have a joke that a successful date meant the young lady and I were still friends afterwards. And that is sort of how I met my wife. I had a date a coworker who was her friend. And she decided that she really did not want to have a one on one movie date with me and asked my future wife along as a chaperone. To make a long story short, DW and I were married within a year afterwards, and then had our son one year, one month and one day after the marriage. We really did not know each other, and it should not have worked, but it did.
  8. Somehow I get the feeling that these are not the type of pictures Sid takes. 🤣 This is going to be quite a different trip. But, that is good as we will all learn different things than last week. 😊
  9. There is someone on this board doing an onboard review of the present Prima sailing. It won't be Sid like, but at least you can feel like you are on the ship again.
  10. I just showed her these pictures, and her reply was, "Very nice, we can go there." Yes, she has excellent taste, though I often wonder how she could have fell in love with me and remained in love with me so long. Bruges will be early on our cruise; later on our cruise on a sea day, we will celebrate our 46th wedding anniversary.
  11. Actually, @Ferry_Watcher, have you ever encountered this situation when checking passengers in. You also specifically mentioned Carnival (and of course this is a Carnival thread), but how might some other lines' policies differ?
  12. Information. I recently spoke to our TA, and he said entertainment and specialty dining would sell out early on our ship, and that he would help us book them when the time came. And note, this is not something he gets a commission on, just a service.
  13. Glad it worked out (except for the other passengers.) I do hope a great majority of the passengers were not like that.
  14. Unless SOLAS tells them differently. Then it will not be their choice.
  15. 🤣🤣 Look at post 1514 by Sid; they might plan to do a cruise together. It does seem they get along well on cruises. 😉
  16. So does that mean you also want cruise lines to revert to requiring up to date vaccinations for Covid and passengers submitting negative Covid tests within 2 days of sailing? Or is it just the new e-muster that you want to remain from the Covid changes?
  17. That is the OPINION of the Points Guy (who relies on advertising). I believe somewhere in this thread @chengkp75has refuted that claim.
  18. As I previously wrote, the only thing we can agree on is that we disagree. I do not agree that a better way does exist because Royal and Carnival have made that decision.
  19. Let the cruise begin! And if you see a transfer bus going the other way, wave to Sid. 🤣
  20. No, all I said was that it is totally untested in a real life situation. Here is something to ponder, if this new way would really be better, why did the authorities in charge not come up with it originally? It obviously puts less stress on the passengers for their part in the drill. I was going to say, we will never agree, but then I realized there is something we can agree on. We can agree that we will never agree! 🤣
  21. And now they call the card you use to pay the fare on the Boston Subway system, the Charlie Card. 🤣
  22. The "old fashioned way" has worked in the past, for instance the Star Princess fire. No one yet has any experience if the new way will work.
  23. Maybe the 2 of you can plan a cruise together in the future. 😉😊
  24. The bean counters, knowing what would make their passengers happy, kept the e-muster instead of returning to the tried and true way.
