  1. The problem is those who need to hear it will totally ignore it even if they hear it. Those who really do not need the reminder are the ones who will notice it.
  2. The last Princess cruise that we booked ended up cancelled during the Covid shutdown. I prebooked transfers back to Heathrow that included a stop in Stonehenge (which made it listed as an excursion). The customer service representative would not let me use what was left over from my shareholder OBC for DW's trip back. I realize I could have called back and quite possibly another customer service representative would have, but I just figured we'd use the few dollars left in OBC on the cruise anyhow.
  3. This was the first Sid review I had ever read. I joined in since we have an upcoming Prima cruise. I am so glad I did. 😊 Though I am also a little sad knowing that there were more of these in the past that I never read. Again thanks for the review.
  4. After reading your posts, I am wondering why you ever take a cruise instead of a land trip.
  5. Sounds like a NCL Prima itinerary. We do one in August, so I will also be looking for the answers in ths thread.
  6. Unless things have changed, Edinburg also has the Fringe Festival in August as well as the Royal Military Tattoo. Just a great place to visit.
  7. Yes, there are many things a cruise line will talk to you about when you book with a TA. Too often, you see posted the blanket statement that if you book with a TA, the cruise line will not talk with you.
  8. But as @cruisemom42 said we are not already in Europe. Plus, we get to see more places.
  9. I'll let DW help me find things. She is the one with an amazing sense of direction while I easily get lost. I think I already mentioned getting us on a train the wrong way in Livorno heading to Rome instead of Florence. Here's another one. On a land trip we landed in Amsterdam. While DW caught up on sleep, I went to try to find a place to change dollars to local currency, and I ended up getting lost trying to get back to our hotel. 😒 I mentioned the miniature golf to her, and she said I made it to competitive. But, I think I can talk her into it by saying we'll be kisses. If she wins a hole, I have to kiss her; if I win the hole she has to kiss me. We often bet kisses, and it's a win/win situation. 😊
  10. Different strokes for different folks. We consider the ports the most important part. Once we decide where we want to go, then we look at comparative prices and different cruise lines.
  11. And Rick Steves calls it the most overrated tourist attraction in Europe!
  12. Not a good reason as it is a marketing tool with almost no cost to them. Note they did renew it again, so their Board of Directors sees it the same way I do.
  13. No big surprise as they always do that, and there is no reason not to.
  14. This interested me since DW loves any chance to dance and to have dance instructions on a cruise, and I was going to ask more about it. Then I realized that you were on a cruise in the Caribbean while our August Prima cruise will be in Northen Europe. I get the feeling that this will not be there for us. 🤦‍♂️
  15. There seems to be a rolling delay. You have to wonder if this will actually ever come to fruition.
  16. You are welcome. You will find more who are helpful than those who are nasty. Just remember, sometimes you have to have a thick skin in discussion groups.
  17. Just try to ignore the posters who are nasty. There are a lot of posters who are not nasty and do try to be helpful. Within a year of being in Kusadasi on a cruise, I went to donate blood to the Red Cross. When I said I had been in Turkey, they had to look up whether that part of Turkey disqualified me from donating blood. It did not. (Another time I was disqualified for going into the interior of Belize on an excursion to view Mayan ruins.)
  18. cml4958 provides the dailies for the NCL Prima in this thread on posts on page 7.
  19. Come on, you know the answer to that. The services provided the ship such as the tug boat that helps in docking are not dependent on whether a certain passenger gets off the ship or not.
  20. It does seem suspicious if there is a pattern of changing ports right after final payment is due. I think we all can agree that as soon as NCL (or for that matter any cruise line) knows it cannot make it to a port that it is selling as part of a cruise, it should be revealed. In the Covid era, we had a Princess Norwegian fjords cruise with a refundable deposit that I figured out could never happen as hotels in England were closing and Norway was closing ports. Princess finally did cancel, but not until final payment was due when they would have more money to hold and maybe customers with a non-refundable deposit would have had to wait. I was amused when someone joined the roll call saying they had just booked after I cancelled for us knowing that it could not ever sail.
  21. In agree about Tallinn. We had Rick Steves' Scandavia book and followed his detailed walking tour.
