  1. Really looking forward to the Rijksmuseum. When we were in Amsterdam many, many years ago on a land trip it was being renovated and we saw very little of it. (And DW is an art teacher with Dutch ancestry on her mother's side.)
  2. Please do not give them ideas like that! 🤦‍♂️
  3. OK, that may get you out of paying taxes, but you will still have to bring your tax exempt form when shopping. And it won't get you out of the muster drill!
  4. I agree with you as you are replying to my post as to crew members deciding to work on ships. However, I disagree with the premise of "nobody forces anybody to do anything". As just one example, passengers are forced to participate in whatever form of muster drill if being used on a ship. In case you want to argue, no one forces anyone to take a cruise, we are all forced to pay taxes.
  5. This is not Covid that spreads between people. I rather doubt they took showers on excursions and the showerhead was contaminated.
  6. Are you on the cruise starting August 6th?
  7. I am hoping that after this summer, I can say the NCL Prima. My TA told me someone very experienced from his firm was on it and said it was the most beautiful ship he had ever been on.
  8. But the medallion makes for a perfect experience and is the wave of the future. I know this because I have read it on every ad Princess sends us. 🤦‍♂️😒
  9. I once had a class with a college professor who said that the 2 worst laws were speeding and alternate side of the street parking. And the reason they were the worst laws was everyone broke them without any punishment. And once you broke one law without consequences, the next laws were much easier to break.
  10. That is just another reason to use a TA. Let him or her deal with the cruise line. And a good TA should have a dedicated contact with a cruise line. I know ours has said to me if we had any of these type problems, instead of spending much of our time trying to deal with them, let him take care of it afterwards.
  11. There is also an excellent review of a just completed Prima cruise by @Greenpea2 as well as the 2 you mentioned.
  12. As a general rule, if you go expecting a good time, you will find it. And even more true, if you go expecting it to stink, that is the experience you will have.
  13. You can laugh at derailments, but believe me they are not laughing in Ohio or Pennsylvania. And I should have added that Amtrak seems to have an abysmal record as for being on time.
  14. You could always go by train. But beware of derailments. 😢
  15. There are some recent threads in this forum by passengers who have just completed cruises on the Prima. Perhaps reading them will give you a better idea of the ship.
  16. They will also give each of you a $25 credit for doing the early deviation.
  17. I remember once booking our flights to Florida on Delta. And then Delta made a change from non-stop to from Newark to Fort Lauderdale to a layover in Dallas. And we would have got to Fort Lauderdale in time to wave goodbye to the cruise ship as it sailed away. So, I too can post from experience. (They did let us cancel, and we ended up flying on Jet Blue instead. If they had not allowed the cancellation, I was going to let our credit card company deal with them.)
  18. If both domestic and foreign owned airlines are not up to good standards, what are you left with? It's not like you can fly Jefferson Airplane. 🤣
  19. Thank you. I was going to ask what if the newly deceased was being cared for by Hospice. I know my Mother-in-Law was in hospice before she passed. As far as I know the police were never involved. (So, NY state can be added to the list in one of the other posts.)
  20. So, you are saying because one country's airline is bad, all country's airlines are bad? Southwest airlines over the recent holiday season totally screwed their passengers. Should someone then come to the conclusion that all private US carriers are bad based on that experience?
  21. Oh, my God, that does not inspire confidence! We sailed Alaska inside passage with Princess. The naturalist they had onboard was simply wonderful.
  22. No airline that is not an American carrier? What about British Airways. (DW in fact favors them because her late father was an executive with them.) We have also flown Air France with no problem, and would not hesitate to fly with them again. We also flew with Iceland Air, and again no problem and no hesitation to fly with them again.
  23. LOL at dancing. We first started dancing after a 2006 NCL cruise to Bermuda. I saw fellow passengers dancing and having a good time. I urged DW to join in. (nice excuse to hold her tight. 😉) Even though we knew nothing about the steps, those who were dancing encouraged us. After we got home, DW decided that we needed lessons. It soon became apparent that we had totally different philosophies when it came to dancing. She wanted to get the steps perfect, while I wanted to let the music move me. She would try to lead to get me to do the steps correctly while I would remind her that the number one rule is "he leads, she follows".
