  1. If you mean that men needs to wear pants then yes, that's the requirement.Ohterwise no other requirement. YOu can wear jeans and a polo shirt every night to dinner and you'll be just fine on any Celebrity ship.
  2. I'll be disembarking an Iceland cruise from Rotterdam on July 19th. Originally planned on taking the train to Paris but now plan to take another cruise from Rome four days later. I assumed I would take the train to Amsterdam Airport then fly to Rome. But now I see I could take the train South to Brussels Airport and fly to Rome from there. About one hour longer and slightly more for train tickets but the airfare is cheaper from Brussels. Anyone with any insight which would way would be better? Thanks in advance for any information.
  3. I'm talking specifically about purchased slot credits, not about charging your account for slot money. Sorry for the confusion.
  4. Yes, I did. I purchased pre-cruise slot credits which gives you a 10% bonus. The pre-cruise slot credits purchase did qualify and I received the extra membership points literally 2 days after the charge went through, way before I got on the ship.
  5. No, you can only cash out winnings. So for example you have $20 in the machine and spin $1and win $2. You can cash out the $2 but you must play out the remaining $19
  6. I think it's her opening song choices since we had the same reaction when we saw her.
  7. If a continental breakfast only is fine with you then it's nice, but otherwise NO. For me, if I'm going to spend the time to sit down and be served I rather go to the MDR breakfast where you can get hot food and mostly the same things that the Elite breakfast serves. The main difference are the premium coffees that are served, but if you have a drink package( or are Elite+) then the complementary premium coffees are a moot point. They do serve a couple of premade smoothies but it's nothing like what you pay for at the Spa Cafe.
  8. You should be able to have your TA change the cabin to one that's available and you're satisfied with that's EXACTLY the same Category as the one they assigned you. TBH Celebrity GENREALLY doesn't do upgrades on guarantee cabins anymore. The same thing happened to my parents on an inside guarantee despite having literally tons of deluxe insides they were assigned the lowest category. Being Elite didn't matter one iota.
  9. Offers are tied to your Captain's Club number so it's should be easy to see in the email's fine print to what CC# the offer is associated with. If it's not your number, the offer doesn't apply to you.
  10. Sorry but I never made it to the Elite breakfast despite it being a 9 day cruise. Since we're Elite+ we're able to get complementary Premium coffees from Cafe Al Bacio and the 2nd location at the buffet. We preferred the larger selection of food choices at the buffet and of course the hot selections. I enjoy my oatmeal and/or Asian congee or eggs none of which is served at the Elite breakfast.
  11. The Magic carpet is a moving platform about the size of a tennis court that is used as a bar/lounge, a hangout with amazing views, and tendering platform. It hangs off the outside of the ship and is never situated outside of any deck that has cabins so it will never be in the way of any balconies. It will only stop at decks 2,5,14, and 16. When it's on Deck 2 it's used as a tendering platform. You walk from the ship to the Magic Carpet then to a tender boat. When it's on the other decks you can walk from the ship onto the magic platform and enjoy the views, sit and relax, order a drink if the bar is open. If you enjoy relaxing outside on your balcony an Aft Sunset Veranda is the best cabin choice besides a suite. Here's a video:
  12. Exactly. I really don't see the point in closing the bifold doors. When I'm in this type of cabin if we want the window down for fresh air it's with the bifold doors open. In fact Celebrity is the only cruiseline that felt the need to install these room divider doors. The MSC ship that has these cabins treat it as what it is, a window. They don't go through the pretense with changing the flooring and furniture to create a pretend balcony. It's treated as a window that opens. Even Royal Caribbean's Icon of the Seas that has cabins with this window didn't put in the bifold doors. All they have are curtains to divide off the sace if you want to, otherwise they're tied back.
  13. That is correct. This is the statement you made which I assume your friend told you that is incorrect. The bifold doors have no control over the HVAC. So whether they are in the open or closed position doesn't influence the HVAC being on or off. Only the window being up or down turns the HVAC on or off.
  14. Sailed on VV twice and loved both cruises. I don't think they are a direct competition to Celebrity. My biggest beef with Virgin are their cabins below suites. They are a bit too basic.
  15. Looks like the venues change for various reasons even on the same ship. This past October the Elite breakfast was held in the Tuscan Restaurant on Deck 3 on the Beyond. Having been on all three E-class ships it seems to switch between the Grand Bistro and Tuscan Restaurant. The information will be presented in the Elite/Elite+ information slip left in your cabin on embarkation day.
  16. For your purposes Aquaclass and Concierge Class cabins don't need to be in consideration. The Fitness Center on E-Class ships are great. I've never had an issue using them on any E-class ships. You should be able to use the locker room in the Spa to change in and out of your gym wear if you so choose to. Unlike the other Celebrity ship classes there isn't a sauna in the locker rooms. the locker rooms are somewhat removed from the gym; they are one deck below the gym and down and around some corridors. The E-Class ships have the most variety of included eateries of the three class of Celebrity ships. For main dining Celebrity chose to divide the dining room into four smaller venues rather than one larger two story venue. The decor is different in each space and for all intnets and purposes the food is the same (each of the four restaurants does have starters and entrees that are supposed to be representative of the cuisine theme of the restaurant and exclusive but since you are able to order any of these in any other restaurant the point is really moot). Other included eateries are the buffet, Spa Cafe in the Solarium, Mast Grill, Eden Cafe, and Cafe Al Bacio for pastries and sweets.
  17. With regards to a balcony cabin on the E-Class ships you should educate yourself on what they are and whether this type of cabin works for you. As wonderful as Celebrity is they are patently lying in their description of the Infinite Verandas. As others have stated the Infinite Verandas are an oceanview cabin with a panoramic window that opens from the top down midway. Using furniture, a different flooring material and bifold doors that act as a room divider you are able to simulate a balcony when you close the bifold doors and lower the window. But to be clear, unlike the Celebrity description, you are never outside, you are always inside your room. In other words what Celebrity calls being outside in a IV cabin amounts to standing or sitting by an open window in your own bedroom at home. What this setup allows, though is a larger room if you leave the bifold doors open. The panoramic window provides great light. This type of cabin would not be the right type of cabin if you really want to be outside when you want to be on your balcony. Remember, you are always inside, you are never outside.
  18. Your friends are misinformed. On all three Eclass ships the bifold doors are solely cosmetic and act as room dividers. They have no effect on whether the HVAC turns on or off. I've been on all three E-class ships and have specifically tested the IV windows and bifold doors. Whatsmore I have inspected carefully the mechanisms on the windows and bifold doors. They work the same on all three ships.
  19. This is what's in all IV cabins on all E-Class ships.
  20. No. It's a continental breakfast, no hot foods of any kind(no eggs, oatmeal, pancakes, etc). Basically it's pastries, fruit, premade smoothies, yogurt, lox platter, espresso based coffee drinks, juices
  21. No one, I repeat no one will be refused entry to the MDR on ANY Carnival ship on Elegant Night if they are wearing jeans.
  22. I'm glad the OP posted their question since it brought about a totally different set of answers than previous threads on the same topic.
