  1. That's our exact experience regarding iPhone vs Android regarding celebrity app message notifications
  2. When I asked the forum for the same advice it was consensus that it couldn't be done and extra keys was the best solution. Our situation the two rooms had totally different benefits. I should note that in my situation both rooms were comped BCC rooms.
  3. If guest relations makes those changes how would they handle issues regarding different benefits that each room has?
  4. We had a somewhat similar issue last month and it was determined that the easiest way to manage this is to leave the accounts as they are and get extra keys. Guest relations has no issues giving extra keys. You just inform them you're traveling together and you want one extra key for each room just to get into the rooms. What you should then do is create a label for those extra keys that indicates to you that it's for room# so and so for access only and attach the label on the card so it's easily distinguished from the other. Yes you generally will Carry both cared but from my experience last month on the Solstice it's really not an issue. You would use your originally assigned card for everything except for except for getting into the room. Trust me, this is the best and easiest solution.
  5. TBH you can be a no show and you'll still get Port charges and fees refunded with no penalties on a fully comped cruise.
  6. That's they only possible answer.
  7. I can't pinpoint what specific settings allowed the phone to show text alerts from the Celebrity app. The only thing I can tell you is we had airplane mode on, connected to the ship's wifi, and had wifi calling activated. Both my and my husband's phone received text alerts with the actual messages typed on the Celebrity app. We have the top of the line Google Android Phones (Pixel 7 & 7Pro) and the latest OS, Android 13. This was on the Feb 18th Solstice sailing.
  8. That's great you've found a system that works for you. Having said that a smart phone doesn't have to be connected to the internet to be useful. It can be a source of music (which replaces the radio) It can be a place to read whatever you downloaded (replacing books, newspapers, magazines). It's a CAMERA (to photograph your travels). It can be a diary to write your thoughts about your travels (replacing a notebook). It's a place where ALL my travel information is located (replacing a folio of all the travel related documents for my vacation). It's a place for mindful games to stimulate the mind(replacing paper versions). Lots more things it can replace,
  9. As it is on ALL Celebrity Ships, the Elite Cocktail Hour is now at all bars except for; World Class Bar,Craft Social, Magic Carpet, all restaurants, room service, mini bar. It is no longer limited to one location.
  10. Android phone users do get notifications.
  11. I didn't find the music in the gym on the Beyond to be overly loud and was able to listen to my own music without issues.
  12. Just for clarification none of the ports ever had or were scheduled to get Global Entry Kiosks like the ones at the airport. The trial programs at the cruiseports had a separate lane that was designated for Global Entry. They even had a lane at the Vancouver cruiseport. Facial recognition has basically made a Global Entry line irrelevant. Now it all depends on implementing this system at all terminals.Surprisingly the new Virgin Voyages terminal in Miami don't have them!
  13. Same here. Our cabin thermostats are generally set at the midpoint or slightly to the Red/right/warmer setting.
  14. The answer depends on how often you and your spouse plan on using the thermal suite. With regards to the room, the only difference is the color scheme and the body wash and shampoo. You do get a slightly nicer robe and slippers. Otherwise it's all about the Thermal suite. If you enjoy using the steam, sauna and heated tile loungers every day then it's a worthwhile investment. You can check to see how much buying a separate Thermal suite pass for two is and what the price difference is. One note though it is easier to access the thermal suite if you have a spa cabin since your room key is coded to open the thermal suite doors directly. You can use the direct elevators on Deck 17, go downto deck 5, and go through a couple of doors and you're in the Thermal suite. If you bought the spa passes separately each time you want to go to the thermal suite you would have to exchange your room key for a card that opens the thermal suite doors. Having a spa cabin you bypass that whole step! But if neither of you enjoy going to the steam and/or saunas (many people don't) or laying on a warm tile lounger then the extra money would be better used towards specialty dining.
  15. Yes, yes, no. To elaborate on the first question, there's actually two steam rooms in the thermal suite. They are adjacent to each other and one is supposed to be a hammam with the flat slab of marble for you to lay on (although on all three E-class ships the stream room labeled hammam was hotter than the adjacent, smaller steam room). Whatsmore the sauna is an infrared sauna which works differently than a traditional Swedish sauna in that you need to sit right in front of one of the multiple infrared heaters for the heat to radiate onto your back and through your body. Just like infrared heaters for your home unless you're directly in front of the heater you won't feel the heat; that's how infrared heaters work. This accounts for why some people complain the saunas on the E-Class ships aren't hot enough; you have to sit right in front of one of the multiple infrared heaters for you to feel hot. The E-Class ships unfortunately don't have a complementary sauna in the spa locker rooms like the M or S-class ships. All the hot rooms are in the thermal suite which you must pay for.
  16. You feel comfortable with the cabin temperature at 50 degrees?
  17. TBH how would they ever know? Look at it another way, you go to Macy's and buy a piece of clothing with a Visa card, and go back the next day and return it for store credit. To Visa the charge is complete and nothing more will come of it. As I said it wasn't even an intentional move. I totally forgot about the casino credits even though I had printed out a page with the information on it.
  18. For future reference only the Casino Host, on the Solstice it should have been a black gentleman named Anele, can determine if you've earned onboard comps to wipe off onboard charges. Speaking to any other employee will elicit the response that you got. Having said that it will only be worth your time if if been gambling a decent amount. If you plowed through several hundred that's not going to get you any charges deducted from your account. If you've spent thousands then it's worth speaking to the casino host and ask about whether your play on the cruise warrants some onboard charges wiped off. Three weeks ago on the Solstice my husband plowed through 5 figures of cash in the casino and we had about $150 wiped off our onboard account.
  19. All the above is correct. Having said that almost ALL of the casino offers require a $100 or $200 pp deposit that's refunded as OBC. It's THAT OBC that can be used for almost any purpose, including gratuities.
  20. I know from experience that it's refunded to whatever card you're using for onboard charges. I had purchased two separate casino cash credits precruise and when onboard forgot all about it. On the 2nd to last day of the cruise both casino cash credits were refunded to the credit cards that were being used for on board charges. The refunds were actually to two separate credit cards. So AMEX has no idea of the refunds since it's not back to the card used to make the precruise purchases. TBH I was very lucky the Solstice did it on their own since I forgot all about it!
  21. There's a loophole to avoid a clawback of bonus points from AMEX if the purchased OBC is refunded at the end of the cruise;use a different credit card onboard than the AMEX account you used to purchase the OBC. If the OBC is refunded to a different credit card AMEX will have no idea that the transaction has occurred, thus no chance of a clawback of bonus points.
  22. The post you responded to is over two years old.
