The three production shows are amazing and should not be missed. The main theater on the Beyond is one of the nicest and most advanced theaters of any cruiseline. There are also shows in both The Club and Eden. The nature of those venues being smaller you need to go early to secure good seats.

I agree that in Europe the itinerary trumps ship but the wo ships in consideration are comparing apples to oranges, especially after the Wonder. If one is going to consider a European cruise as JUST a floating hotel and transportation , then one should just choose the CHEAPEST ship with the best ports. But the OP specifically chose to change cruise lines. The Connie is the same size and age as the the Radiance Class on Royal. The Beyond will have the same impact as the Wonder-It's just a remarkable ship. But only you can determine if staying on an older ship with an older cabin is going to impact your vacation enjoyment. For some people it's no, but then again you specifically chose to try Celebrity over Royal. It also will matter GREATLY what type of cabin you choose. I think for people to help in your decision tell us what types of cabin you're considering on both Celebrity ships. What do you enjoy to do after a day of touring? Do you like to go to the shows? The Beyond will have shows that can't be seen on the Connie and are considered the best shows of the fleet.

Valiant Lady Casino cruisers - some important info
kwokpot replied to kwokpot's topic in Virgin Voyages
I'll post some more information tomorrow since we just disembarked the cruise today, but the casino cocktail party invite email came 1 day before embarkation day. The email is identified as just casino, so just be on the lookout. Below is what it will look like. Yes, the invited casino person and guest will get the drink and coffee benefit. -
NSA and PJ Party good or too much for night 1?

Doors open usually open 15 mins earlier, so you probably should just leave things the way they are. Just be mindful when you're having lunch what time dinner is! -
You can do a play on the iconic Virginia State tourism slogan and do: 'VIRGIN IS FOR LO❤️ERS'

1:12pm. Chill is over. DJ, club volume music and excellent mix, gogo guys and girls, pool floats, bubbles!
-
12:10pm at the beach club. Chill mode. You can definitely notice how few passengers are on this sailing since the beach club is fairly large. I was here last July on the Scarlet with over 1,700 guests and it was much more crowded.

I've been on all three ship classes since the restart, and on the flagship Beyond in October and never saw the paper carton water. The default is the aluminum bottled water.

Yes, you can ask for a glass of ice water from any bar. You can do that on all cruiselines.

I don't think I remember seeing bands on the E-Class ships nor do I remember seeing them on cruise ships in general on any cruiseline. You should bring your own. Good thing is they don't take up much luggage space.

We had the peeling issue on our Nov 26th sailing on the Beyond.

Anyone know or have a picture of the "free" tea available?
kwokpot replied to fndecker's topic in Virgin Voyages
I do want to add that the takeaway cup was a tall, large cup so it was probably all the tea that was brewed in that teapot. It was more than twice the size of the flat white. -

I personally would make dinner later, with 730 or 8. Reason being is with late embarkation the earliest you'll be eating lunch when you get on is 2ish. Dinner at all restaurants averages just over an hour, and that's including dessert. Also NSA is over an hour. We stayed for about an hour and then left, and it wasn't over yet. -

People should note that if you're on a casino comped cruise Deep Blue benefits don't apply. Of course there's benefits associated with a casino comped cruise and most other extra charges can be 'comped' based on your casino play during the cruise.

I ordered a jasmine earlier today and unfortunately I didn't see how he brewed it. But the end result is in a take away cup, in other words they brewed it and then served it to me already brewed , so no 2nd cup. -
FYI it's not free in regular cabins.

Photos of the premium loose teas and prices available at Grounds Club. There's two locations, right outside the Galley and along the corridor to the Wake. -
The Internet was down for about 30 mins

Bar soap, shampoo, hair conditioner, body wash. The last 3 are in wall mounted pump bottles. I body lotion is included in Suite cabins but not any cabins below that.

No other cruiseline puts on a better deck party than Virgin. No one.

I think when people say that's it's cheaper than staying home you're factoring in going out at local restaurants where you still have to pay gratuities. It's a vacation. I'm on my 102 cruise right now, Virgin Valiant Lady, and yes it's a comped casino cruise. Day 6 of an 8 nt cruise Caribbean cruise and I haven't gotten off the ship. I'm enjoying the entertainment onboard and the beautiful surroundings, sunning pool side, and just relaxing. If the pandemic has taught me anything it's that being social and having a change of scenery is good for the mind and the soul. And since I'm retired it's not even about getting away from work. I enjoy my retirement at home but I also enjoy being away.
