I’m interested in seeing what the itinerary will be for 2024 alaskan cruises. I liked that this year cruises include hubbard but next years don’t. Any idea when these will be posted?

As a single person, i somewhat understand where the op is coming from. I dislike paying double fare and the fact singles can’t book guarantees. However ultimately i need to remember royal caribbean is a business and does things for business reasons and i’ve chosen to still cruise despite these annoyances.

I don't really think its that different with any other cruise line so i guess you've chosen not to cruise. Thats your choice. I also don't think its always 100 extra for refundable.

Just to clarify, does that mean if i cancel mu cruise with confidence fcc within the final payment window it would never expire? That would be a good deal indeed.

How much obc do you get if booking on the shp?

I guess the solution is to book early then hopefully there won’t be the guarantee problem.

I’ve booked a guarantee through a travel agent but you should be able to do both.

Just a comment that you shouldn’t have to do a fake booking. Royal caribbean should allow solos to book guarantees. The whole thing makes me mad and if it is a trend in a shift to guarantees, thats worse.

Yes this is definitely unfortunate for solo cruisers. I find the solo rooms in particular have high refundable deposits.

Sorry i think i know why solos are locked out - because only guaranteed cabins are offered and aren't solos not allowed to do guarantees?

I booked a solo cabin on the serenade and while unlikely have still been watching for price drops. Imagine my surprise when i did a search and found interior and ocean cabins were sold out. I decided to try searching for 2 people since i didn't recall the cabins being sold out and those cabins were available to book for 2 people. They are just locking out singles. Is it common for them to do this? So sad. Another knock against singles.

So if your category is full, does that mean no price drops? An agent told me to keep checking.

Deposit is 480 cdn so maybe 400 US? I don't know if i'm charged more as solo traveller, you aren't with royal caribbean. Good idea to check cost of refundable deposit.

Is this a bad idea? Its the abc caribbean cruise in jan 24 and i can get a good deal but non refundable deposit. I swore i wouldn’t book this early again and yet here i am again. The deposit seems expensive compared to royal caribbean. I’m not sure if thats because i’m travelling solo. Also is celebrity air any good?

Thanks. Yes i calculate i can stay 4 nights in san francisco for same price as 7 night pacific coastal. Good to know catalina is nice. What about astoria?

I’m still waffling on taking a pacific coastal or just flying to san francisco a couple of days. The cruise is 2 days in san francisco, victoria, astoria and catalina island. Are these places worth a visit? (I’m from vancouver so don’t care about victoria stop.) would i need an excursion in astoria or could i walk around? I’d like to see the astoria column if i go.
