  1. If I recall, I'm doing the same cruise but in the opposite direction the day you get off. I had points on SouthWest and got both legs for FREE plus $5.50 per flight booking fee. Got myself the EarlyBird upgrade for $25 for the return leg to ensure I could get A-group boarding and get a good seat for the LA-BWI leg (aside from Hawaii I think it's SWA's longest leg!!).
  2. Again, this is covered in the T&C's of the promo, which I linked above - Reservation must be made more than 110 days prior to sailing to qualify.
  3. @CCJack please review my explanation above. It's misleading to call it OBC as you don't end up using it for anything other than offsetting the cost of the second CND. As a result, it doesn't really matter what type of OBC it is. For the record - it IS of the non-refundable type, but it's the ONLY non-refundable OBC that can be used to cover the cost of CND purchase.
  4. CruiseNext certificates are still worth $250 each. This is effectively how it works - "buy" the two deposits at $250 each, billing to your on-board account as $500, then get $250 in OBC that offsets the cost of one, making the net purchase price $250.
  5. Do explain. Will cabin prices drop once airfare can no longer be added? Quite possibly. Does that mean that everyone booking prior to that date is subsidizing the airfare for those that take the offer? Maybe? We don't know what NCL's actual calculations for the fares are, and it's an historical precedent that as it gets closer to embarkation day the fares will go down anyway as they try to fill the ship, unrelated to perks being present on the current bookings. As a point of reference - I've been tracking the price on my currently-booked cruise that just passed 110 days (the deadline for adding or changes to airfare requests) before embarkation as well as the cruise before it which is now almost 3 weeks past that date. Neither cruise has gone down in price, which would be commensurate with the "airfare subsidy" claim and the prior cruise actually seems to have gone UP a little. I should add that you CAN do airfare only one-way. You'll need to call NCL for that or have a TA do it, it can't be done through the online booking engine.
  6. A solo cruiser gets a 50% airfare break since there is no second guest. The first guest on a 2-guest room is paying full-fare for the flight. On a per-person value it's the same price, there's just no second person to split the value with when you book only one. This is actually noted in the T&C's of the promo if you looked... https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions Solo traveling guests will receive 50% off Norwegian Cruise Line's promotional airfare pricing each way Edit: And then you have the person below that seems to have an axe to grind with NCL and takes every opportunity to bash them even though there's a full explanation for what is being seen...
  7. in 2022 I had no problem walking around the immediate port area. You'll find more info in the ports of call section, those are considered Western Caribbean ports, this section has a forum for each of the ports you'll visit - https://boards.cruisecritic.com/forum/456-caribbean/
  8. That's check-in at the terminal, not the time you will be allowed on the ship.
  9. I suggest visiting the ports of call forum for each of the ports and seeing what people are talking about there. I did that exact cruise in 2022, on the same ship. At Harvest Caye I did the Monkey River boat tour. At Cozumel I did the bee sanctuary and tequila tasting At Roatan I just got off the ship and walked the (small) shopping area, then got back on the ship We skipped Costa Maya due to wind/waves.
  10. No. Travel routers take an existing WiFi connection and then broadcast their own network. To do that they need two WiFi radios so it would not cut the speed in half. Realistically, though, the internet speed on a ship is slow enough that such halving of WiFi throughput won't be noticeable. I guess I was in a fantasy world when I grabbed this screenshot on my cruise on the Escape earlier this year -
  11. When I was there in 2019 the Pan Pacific that is part of the Canada Place terminal allowed for some luggage storage. I did that while I went on a private excursion and had dinner. Then I got my luggage, walked around the corner and hopped the train to the airport.
  12. They want the ship clear as quick as possible so they can start boarding the next cruise. For non-Haven they usually want people out of cabins by 8, maybe 8:30 and off the ship by 9:30 or so.
  13. It counts based on when you've logged into the internet. If you're using a router to allow more than one device to connect through only one internet plan then the device acting as the router signing into the internet starts the clock.
  14. I might be inclined to agree. I can have tons of fun on a cruise and never drink a drop of alcohol. Of course - some of that fun IS at the expense of those who have consumed those 15+ drinks by 3 PM, after only getting up at noon...
  15. This happened for my upcoming cruise in January - Le Bistro was bugged and didn't become available when it should have. I called CS and they also couldn't book it but submitted a ticket to IT to get it fixed. I was able to book it finally, 3 or 4 days after final payment.
  16. How can you be certain that ONLY those people were late? Is it possible there was an NCL excursion (which was not on the train) that was also late and the gangway was pulled up once those people returned? You know the facts about one group, you don't know if they were the ONLY group, do you?
  17. My first NCL cruise - Bliss April 2019. It was my first solo cruise, first NCL experience, first time in an NCL Studio cabin and I had a GREAT time! I've since had other great cruises on NCL (2 solo but only one more in a Studio), but you never forget your first, right?
  18. Yes, we established that earlier in the thread...
  19. my mistake, I thought it was starboard that was getting the added cabins. I know which is which...
  20. Starboard is the side where the OL size is getting reduced for new balcony cabins. Go back and check the threads discussing that...
  21. That's just someone stirring the pot. they did a wonderful job of it, didn't they?
  22. I think you meant to say a daily fee of $19.95, a 7-day pass would be a one-time fee for the entire cruise...
  23. There is LOTS of discussion on the Joy's changes in other threads. The Joy is the easiest to do this with as the infrastructure to support the cabins (plumbing and electrical) is likely there already as there used to be cabins in those locations. Bliss and Encore never had cabins there, it might not be worth the cost to add cabins there on those ships.
