  1. The amount of "stuff" on that top deck of the Icon (based on the renderings) just makes it look gaudy to me. It seems so busy and so dang vibrant and colorful. Just as with the Oasis-class, I'm not sure I'll ever step foot on Icon or her sisters. I like that NCL isn't trying to one-up themselves with bigger and bigger as RCL is, by deciding to make the Prima class even a little SMALLER.
  2. And the US version - https://www.ncl.com/about/terms-and-conditions/promotions $50 USD Shore Excursion Credit Offer is applicable to first guest on the cruise reservation. The first guest shall receive free shore excursions priced at $50 or less (“the promotion”) In the alternative, first guest will receive $50 in Shore Excursion Credits to apply against shore excursions priced greater than $50. $50 Shore Excursion Credit is applicable to all tours, including debarkation tours. In the event the tour is less than the value of the credit the $50 Shore Excursion Credit will be adjusted to match the tour value. The first guest may redeem the promotion of $50 Shore Excursion Credit on more than one shore excursion per port. Latitude Members Discount is combinable with the $50 Shore Excursion Credit. In the case of multiple excursion credits or discounts, the $50 Shore Excursion Credit will be applied first followed by any additional shore excursion discounts. In the event a port of call or shore excursion is canceled, the guest will be refunded the amount that the guest paid for the excursion. For shore excursions purchased prior to cruise, the promotion or $50 Shore Excursion Credits will be applied to the first guest at time of purchase. For shore excursions purchased onboard, the promotion or $50 Shore Excursion Credit will be applied to the first guest’s onboard account. Please see additional restrictions below: If the first guest purchases shore excursions tickets for other guests, the promotion and $50 Shore Excursion Credit will not apply to such tickets. The first guest cannot purchase shore excursions for themselves where the duration of such excursions overlap in time. For port calls in Great Stirrup Cay and Harvest Caye, the promotion and $50 Shore Excursion Credit does not apply to equipment rentals. Pre-cruise and post-cruise land tours are not eligible for this promotion. $50 Shore Excursion Credit has no monetary value, are non-refundable, non-transferable and cannot be exchanged for actual currency of any value. Other guest in the stateroom are not eligible to receive the promotion or $50 Shore Excursion Credits. Shore excursion credit can be redeemed by booking online via NCL.com, by calling 1-866-625-1167, or onboard.
  3. This is confusing - they only release 25-30% of reservations pre-cruise, they can't possibly have not had enough tables to accommodate all that booked unless they simply put no limit on the bookings at all!!
  4. You will find MANY accounts in this forum. Some good, some bad. That search box at the top of the forum will find you many of those, but even looking at a couple of the most recent pages of threads will show you a few threads. If you have a specific question, I suggest you ask.
  5. and that was pointed out all the way back in post #4 of the thread... On the topic - I've been contacted by a PCC, but never booked through them. She actually called me TWICE to remind me to do the post-cruise survey (once before and once after I had completed it). Some have reported having success getting some kinds of deals through them, kind of like booking with a TA, I may have to try booking with a PCC some day since I've had trouble finding a TA that is responsive.
  6. Look for my post from March (I think it was in my thread, I might have posted it in another), I posted the dailies from an Eastern Caribbean trip on the Escape. EDIT - Dang it, it wasn't in that thread!! I definitely posted them though. Found it! Usual caveat with dailies - performers and schedules ARE subject to change, don't take this as gospel..
  7. @ConnieTact your rules in the UK are different than those here in the US. Your TA would have to make the request for the price adjustment, but in the UK I seem t recall people incurring fees for such a request before final payment (I'm not sure of they're successful after).
  8. Just because someone has an opinion contrary to what someone else thinks is the right thing to do does not make them a bully. Yes, I thought it might be unreasonable to expect NCL to give leeway, the OP had a year to use the FCC. We all face deadlines every day - credit card bills incur late fees if not paid in time, utilities incur late fess, rent or mortgage, even NCL will cancel your reservation if you miss the final payment deadline. Am I happy for the OP that they got their way? Sure. But it's now set a precedent - the next person could be looking at 3 days, or 5 days, or a week beyond validity of the FCC, could see this thread and point back and say "but you did it for them". At what point do you draw the line for giving some grace? Policies and deadlines are in place for a reason...
  9. Do you all have iPhones? Generally iMessage works even without internet. Yes, the in-app messaging works without paying for internet (it's $10 per device). You can connect to the WiFi without paying, it's getting 'outside' the ship that costs money.
  10. If a one-meal option is offered for them, possibly. You could look and see what they might want and add up the prices to decide what their dinner cost would be. You should be able to find the menus in the app or in various places online (hint: 'NCL cagney's menu' is likely to get you the results you need in your search engine of choice). Before you ask - no, you can't buy a 2-night package for one and let them 'treat' the other.
  11. You were on Prima 8 months ago, when they WERE planning to roll it to the rest of the fleet at some point. It seems something changed only a month ago - https://cruisespotlight.com/norwegians-new-dining-room-experiment-may-have-failed/
  12. I don't think NCL is making this change. In fact, I think I heard that some of the menu changes on Prima were being rolled back in favor of what some would consider "traditional" for NCL.
  13. This is why I hesitate to send laundry (in addition to the fact I'd rather not pay for it, but if I do it right I'll have Plat. after my next cruise so I'll get a free bag). I have some clothes that don't seem like they'd take kindly to high heat drying, I always dry them on medium at home.
  14. People in other recent similar threads have CLAIMED that once the booking is fully in the airlines' "hands" (72 hours prior?) you could possibly work with them to make adjustments. Back in 2019 when it was a free/reduced airfare deal my experience with AA was that this was not possible on the day of the flight due to the type of ticket purchased. Until then - NCL's deal is you asked them to book the flight between two airports and allowed them to pick the routing and times. They won't make changes.
  15. It's not a boarding time, it's a check in time. Boarding is not likely to start until 2 or more hours after 9 AM...
  16. The "priority check-in" is simply another line within the terminal. That said - they generally haven't been going by the check-in time you selected, though for crowd control and traffic flow they would certainly prefer if people do.
  17. I wonder how often companies bidding on multi-million $ projects get extensions for TWO DAYs because they decided there were other priorities. OK, we're talking a little less money here, sure. How often does your boss give you extensions on projects because you decided something else was more important than that work?
  18. You can ALWAYS walk-up. There's no need to make reservations for the MDRs...
  19. https://www.ncl.com/faq#!#what-clothes-should-i-pack
  20. Fixed that. I had to check to be sure, but the Bliss doesn't have the Galaxy Pavilion. That was a new feature added during the Joy refurb and the Encore build.
  21. Find me a cruise line that does. Many insurance providers (I believe Medicare included) won't cover for care outside the US (which the ship is considered). This is where having travel insurance would come in and save you money.
  22. They also relocated the buffet from aft to forward, the Escape is the only BA+ ship with the Garden Cafe at the back of the ship, the rest have it overlooking the OL. and doesn't have the solo cabins (in case the OP wants to try the Joy solo and was looking for those). Oh, one more BA+ discrepancy - the Escape is the only one in that class WITHOUT a walled-off smoking area in the casino, the rest have an isolated room for that.
  23. Thank you. When I tip in a restaurant on land I tip based on what I paid for the meal. Only water? No charge for drink, no tip based on a drink cost. I'm not flagging down a waiter and asking them to get me a glass of water, if they happen to be getting drinks for others I'm sitting with or near and they ask then I'll ask for my water. On my last cruise, however, I simply carried my own container of water with me.
  24. Because not all available reservations are opened to pre-book. Only about 30% are available to book, with the rest opening on embarkation day.
