  1. Was just FB messaging with someone on it, nothing came up as an issue.
  2. Leaving the horse asterisk comment alone, me thinks you missed the point. While I cannot compare 40 years ago, I go back 30+. I would agree that there are constraints from the shutdown for 19 months (nothing of their own doing) and this has an impact (30 bill in the hole will do that). That said, and for the sake of discussion I will use my first sailing, Carnival Celebration (the original), could hold 1,500 and had 2 dining options. The Mardi Gras has 6,400 capacity and multiple (22) dining options. The issue comes in that all but 2 Lido and the two MDR’s do it in much smaller number which my friend Jeff said (actuarily) are prepared in MUCH small ways, which allows specialization and attention to detail. However, the majority of people still eat dinner in the two mdr’s, hence the need for prep and cooking, which if you do a CHef’s table or do a main kitchen walk thru during mealtime, you would see. I have recently sailed a 5 star cruise line ship (14 say sailing). While the service was better, the tables had white linen, and the presentation was top notch, I would give an edge (not a lot, but still and edge) to Carnival. Sometimes, chicken salad really is chicken salad and not chicken …something else. You may disagree, but Jeff speaks truth….
  3. Have not done the math on time lost due the mechanical problem vs the medical issue. At the end of the day, not sure it makes a difference.
  4. Way better system on PC than Miami, we went down to the ramps, past luggage (they were up to number 4 putting bags out), no Customs and out. Over to the garage up to 2 and out of the garage by 7:20. It cannot get much better than that. 3 hours later we walked in the door. Next up summary.
  5. There were 4 of us (others doing their own thing), the 4th elevator had some space, so we sent the girls down to 6. Next elevator had only 2 people, we hopped on. They were waiting and we headed off to Centerstage. We passed about 30o people waiting with bags and were instructed to loop around by Brass Magnolia bar. When we came around the corner, they were already letting Diamonds go and we headed off.
  6. After some head scratching things early on debark (seeing the Legend at the Royal pier, and someone telling me the Vista was leaving, which turned out to be not true, she was just going to the basin and spinning around and coming back to her slot), we went up to Lido for breakfast. We had been told to be in Center Stage at 7:15 am. After breakfast, we went back down to the room to get our bags. Empty elevator…that is a good thing. As we entered our room, TJ came on and said they were waiting to get cleared but expected to start soon. We were doing carry off (had parked in the garage), and our room was 2 in from elevator lobby on 9. Walked in got our bags, came out and the first three elevators were packed. Timing is everything.
  7. Here is a pic as she pulled awY from pier (we were on Mardi Gras) from us in Amber Cove. Had a good look as well as this pic.
  8. Thre is nothing wrong with people offering up their knowledge and experience.
  9. As we both know, we have seen the way food is prepped and prepared, The only possible way it can work.
  10. Have to take your word on that. I cannot think of a cruise where I do the same thing twice in the same cruise (other than a couple of lido options, Guys, or pizza).
  11. The problem is you have to have a foreign port stop on any cruise. There are just not a lot of options.
  12. When facts are involved, I disagree. When people ignore facts, it is like wisdom….or the opposite. All that said, to each their own.
  13. Food is def a subjective topic. I can even have the same thing on different ships and it taste and look different.
  14. Heard from a third source that part of the reason they came in was for a medical emergency, just repeating what I heard. No cruise line skips days between voyages, just tp keep an even keel.
  15. I love it when common ground is found.
  16. You are correct. I figured it out after posting. They were coming in. They saw them pass us when they went down to basin and spun around and come back up to her slot. Thanks for the update tho.
  17. She is docked at pier here in PC. Saw her as we came in
  18. Saw her at the pier as we came in this morning.
  19. To lazy to check right now, and did not see it but would was told the Vista was sailing out (time????) weird.
  20. Thought the same thing. After he leftI glanced at the cameras. They would have great views. I did bring it up to the cashier, but it was busy.
