  1. Yes, you get a certificate for club balcony. What I don't understand is a so-called 1/2 price certificate.
  2. Never heard of a "1/2 price laundry cert". No certificate needed for latitudes benefits (free or 1/2 price). Laundry special is shipwide, date specified. So please elaborate.
  3. Gosh, it helps if you read the answers already given. Scroll up, already answered.
  4. Except that it probably won't deter an overeager waiter. Never has for me. I always leave my utensils on the plate, my napkin on my chair. And there is always the possibility that someone will claim the table if the buffet is crowded. I think I'm going to have to start bringing my phone with me, first as a place-holder - but I also might need it to snap a picture of the elusive hash browns or cookies, if they happen to appear!!
  5. Big difference between saying they will be available because they are held some back vs they might be available because they either didn't sell out or people cancelled. Being available is in no way proof that they held anything back.
  6. Dollar Tree $1.25. Maybe you could bribe someone in the kitchen to make them for you.
  7. Right place, wrong conclusion. Nothing showing is a pretty good indication that they aren't porting out of Baltimore in 2024 (other than 1 cruise), in 2025, and maybe not in 2026.
  8. Those smaller ships can go places those big ships can't even think about - and some ports are starting to limit the # of passengers they will allow, so I'm thinking you've got it all wrong. But I guess it depends on the demographic - I'm out to see the world by cruise ship, not interested in parties or hiking a mile to get from my cabin just to go to dinner LOL.
  9. If you are asking about tipping on the ship, USD. If you are asking about spending money in the city, not everyplace will take USD for purchases, so Euros or credit card. But I suppose if you are just asking about tips, not purchases, anything would be accepted - just remember they have to go to the bank to make the conversion.
  10. That's great if you have your phone with you - I don't carry mine. But maybe leaving my key card would work.
  11. It's up to the captain but usually the ship will adjust the time IF the cruise will be in another time zone for an extended period. If it's a zig-zag course back and forth, they might not. But since you will be in another time zone when you disembark, I would assume that you will change to local time. Touch base with the tour you are trying to arrange - chances are good that they know exactly what the situation will be with each cruise line. They usually make it their business to know that stuff.
  12. Unless you are booking sailaway (which is not very common these days), GTY is GTY. If they were allowing you to choose cabins in that category/location, they would allow it when you book. At this point, it's not a matter of GTY is cheaper - it's about availability. Prior to final payment, you can pay to upgrade as many times as you want. After final payment, you normally get 1 bite of the apple. And there is no guarantee that your cabin will be assigned early enough for you to upgrade.
  13. Offer is good through April 1. There is no indication that it's for USA booking only.
  14. I actually saved over $400 the last time because what I wanted happened to be a solo balcony and I had booked a regular OV (previously a request to upgrade from a solo OV had been rejected). So she rebooked the solo OV at the lower rate, I got the exact cabin I wanted. I have been told in the past that just because a cabin is available to book does not mean that it is included in the inventory available for WWP - but that a little nudge might get the results you want.
  15. While aft is always good IMHO, it kinda depends on your itinerary whether I'd spend the extra on a cabin with a nice view vs using the money for other things. Bliss goes to Alaska, Mexico, Carribean.
  16. Yea, pretty early in the season. I'm on a transpacific arriving in Seward on the 22nd and was shocked to see there are cruises even earlier than that. The train from Seward-Anchorage doesn't even start running until sometime in May. But we're also not stopping at the usual tourist ports - and definitely having issues finding excursions - Kodiak and Dutch Harbor. But on the other hand, the Grey whales will be migrating north, so might be able to see them in Seward. I was down in Baja last month, maybe I'll see some of my friends (yes they are friendly, even got to pet them in the lagoons!!)
  17. No and No. There just has to be an eligible cabin available, so sooner rather than later might be a good idea.
  18. There is no such thing as priority for booking excursions. You need to book now if interested.
  19. Well, I was on the Star Reykjavik to London in 2022, no missed ports or technical issues. London to Rome, also in 2022, no missed ports or technical issues. Antarctica in 2023, only missed Stanley due to weather, no technical issues. And booked again for Norway/Iceland this summer.
  20. Except that I often travel solo and if I go back my table is gone.... I often forget to carry anything extra with me to leave at the table to indicate I'm coming back - and if I happen to catch the eye of one server, another one will come by and clean the table.
  21. They only release a small % of available reservations prior to the cruise. You can make reservations once onboard. And keep in mind that some people have earlier access to making reservations.
  22. Did you apply them directly or go through a PCC/TA? My thoughts are around whether or not it's the certificate itself which is why some PCCs will put them through, others will not. Haven't heard anyone say they couldn't put theirs through on the website, other than those who aren't eligible or are having other issues with the certificates in their account.
  23. UhOh - I had a thought...certificates bought after the switch, and new rules, clearly state that they cannot be applied to existing reservations. I wonder if that's what's affecting the ability for some to get them added (even with help) vs those that can't? Would be interesting to know if they are only enforcing the policy on new certificates.
  24. So, someone on another site commented that the NCL reps have been told that this offer is for new bookings only (which it does say) - and to not just apply them to existing reservations. Which is in line with what's been reported in a few places. If true, you might get some pushback by going through your PCC or TA (who may have to call NCL). But in order to actually enforce it for the DIYers among us, they would need to get their IT department onboard and fix the glitch in the system that allows us mere mortals to add them at will LOL.
