  1. Not sure what you are asking. If you buy obc with your points, it's refundable, no need to pay 3% surcharge to cash out - just collect at guest services at the end of the cruise. If you are asking if you can charge cash to your card to get points, yes. The 3% fee is equal to the "cash" value of points on your card, so essentially no additional cost for a cash advance. I do it all the time, use my points for upgrades.
  2. Up to the captain to decide. Sometimes they won't change if its just for 1 port.
  3. That kinda depends on the complaint. Onboard issues are best addressed onboard. Pre-cruise, post-cruise, accounting, reservations.... On the UK NCL website there should be listings for contacting various departments.
  4. 10% in July and September. Nothing since as far as I know. Was onboard 1/1, only promo was 3 CNs. I've been told the onboard offers change on the first.
  5. 10 cruises on NCL since restart, so obviously the possibility of catching covid not limiting my travel plans. Fully vaccinated/boosted. Came home from Alaska with covid last spring, pretty sure it was from the last-day excursion in Vancouver. Came home with a cold from Europe last fall, guy on the airport transfer bus was obviously sick, good chance that was the source. Cold was worse than covid for me...
  6. Pretty good chance of ending up with $1000 in NR OBC and a bill for $1030 at the end of the cruise.
  7. I have to agree that I'm also suspicious of reports that people are able to actually use NR OBC for casino, although I have experienced a number of onboard accounting errors, so it might happen but I certainly wouldn't count on it. Big difference between being able to charge cash to your account and actually using OBC to pay for it.
  8. Any casino cash has to be "played" has nothing to do with how the cash is credited against your account.
  9. I think it's more of a glitch in the system if it is actually allowed. But each ship seems to have different accounting systems and knowing what's charged where is not often apparent unless the only thing on your account is a casino charge.
  10. It could. They can put info on the page when you go to check in. Like the addition of pictures, muster videos. Plus how many people checked in early, only to have info change later.
  11. You are correct, I believe that's how it worked. But how often do you actually READ the disclaimer, which was my point. By waiting until closer to your sail date they can include any recent updates. In the past you could check in way earlier than 30 days. Not 100% sure but I think I remember you could check in as soon as you booked, although it could have been at final pay.
  12. I'm not picky about location so for me, sail away would be good for a balcony and probably inside, if I wasn't looking for room choices and perks. But I personally wouldn't for OV because that ranges from a porthole on deck 4 to a nice unobstructed picture window.
  13. Somebody saw CA and thought Canada... They are human, they make mistakes. DFW seems to be the common hub to get to Buenos Aires for Antarctica cruises. But not an excuse to make fixing it a priority. You get what you pay for - it's worked well for me. But I don't fly out of a major airport so I leave the headaches of routing to NCL- and usually get better flights because leg 1 is always to a bigger airport. And as I post this, I'm sitting in an airport waiting for my flight home after a total rerouting of my flights and an unexpected overnight stay. NCL booked my flight but it's not up to them to fix, it's the airline. And others on the same cruise, same flight who booked on their own are scrambling just the same as me.
  14. It definitely started as a covid thing, although I seem to recall that boarding time was also there pre-covid. And some ports do enforce it. I suspect the 21 days is so they can update requirements if necessary. They know they can't depend on people actually reading anything they print out after they've checked in, although there probably isn't any reason they couldn't allow some data entry early. Or go one step farther and keep your picture etc. so you don't have to do it each time.
  15. Deviation requests have to be more than 75 days out. They will tell you 30-60 days out, got my flight info for a Feb 12 cruise about a week ago, so a little more than 50 days out. Normally they will not make any changes after flights are booked, although they may rebook in the event of potential strikes (their determination) or extremely short layovers (your request).
  16. You aren't making any sense. You "pay" $1000 for 4 certificates - they will either give you back $500 in obc ( which offsets the cost) or another 4 certificates. In either case, your account is charged $1000. There is no obc to redeem, it's an offset to the money charged to your account. And nr obc can't be claimed in the casino. If you took the certificates, you definitely wouldn't have had any obc. Sounds like you bought that go pro with your money, not NCLs. Unless I'm missing something.
  17. Currently, any price adjustment is FCC, not OBC. So you need to spend more money, in most cases anyway, on another cruise.
  18. Not sure who gave you the information that your refund would go to your onboard CC because that just isn't the way they have dealt with credit balances in my experience. They give you a cash refund before you disembark - on a previous cruise I asked them to credit my account and they refused, insisted I go to guest services and get my cash. I've seen other posts where people have not been allowed to disembark until their account was at zero, so I don't know what may have happened in your case. At this point, you might make a claim against the CC you used onboard, if there were any charges made there. Otherwise, a claim against the card you used to book the excursions - for services not provided, which helps override any time limitations.
  19. So when was the last time you were able to use SH credit for CN? Thought they stopped allowing that?
  20. CNDs should be visible to a travel agency.
  21. CND's aren't considered discounts. I've got multiple cruises where I've used 2 CNDs with 10% discounts. But you can't always use 2 certificates, only when they run a "double up" promo which lately has required booking 6 months in advance.
  22. Good to know, not how the early info was showing. So instead of the $2 I would have probably tipped, guess I won't bother with anything additional. Adding a gratuity to a service charge - that's a big no in my book!
