  1. just ask before you leave the ship what its current time is and plan accordingly
  2. This weekend I booked the Founders Cruise on Vista for May 2023. Today I received an email and a phone call, from an Elite Personal Consultant. The email just said he is available to help me with anything I need leading up to the cruise, the phone message was about the same, asking me to reply to the email or call him back. Since I booked the cruise directly myself, I'm wondering what is the benefit of this consultant? I'm more than happy to call him back but since this will be my first Oceania cruise, just wondering what to expect. Thanks
  3. I was on Edge Oct/Nov and had creme brulee 5 or 6 times, it was delish.
  4. Sorry to hear all of this about getting so sick, but glad for the recovery! I was just recently on Edge TA from Rome, while I never heard of anyone getting Covid, on the second to last day before arriving in FL, the captain did announce that during the entire duration of the cruise "only" 5 passengers had tested positive. I did notice that after maybe day 4 or 5, the suite next door to mine suddenly I started noticing food trays placed/left on the floor outside the cabin and I had seen them go in/out a few times before noticing this. Normally I'd of thought just rude, but honestly I did wonder if maybe the people in that suite had tested positive and this was well before the captains announcement the day before disembarking.
  5. On Celebrity ships, smoking is on the port side. Not on the Edge. Deck 5 it is located in primo wrap around space just outside of Eden and on the pool deck it is upstairs just above Mast Grill, again, prime location as well and at Sunset Bar.
  6. Could not agree more about Eden, loved it on my recent Edge TA. In addition to the open space with incredible views, great entertainment, the Eden restaurant is amazing!
  7. Thanks, I was wondering about that. Though not a major issue for us as we plan to spend 3 days following the cruise in Venice.
  8. Suggested amounts, (actual amounts I tipped on a very recent 14-day cruise) Butler - $75 (RARELY used his services) Room Steward - $225 (incredible service and hard working) Head Waiter - $280 (simply the BEST) Asst. Waiter - $210 (simply the second BEST) Maitre d' - $40 each (there were 2) Misc. - of course out and about everyday there were incidental tips for beverages, buffet, WC attendants. It NEVER occurs to me to remove the auto-grats either, if you look at the amounts in totality, pretty easy math to conclude once they are divied up among all of the staff they are a pittance.
  9. I do not drink at all, but on my recent cruise premium alcohol package was included, had no choice it came with the suite. I wish I had kept track though, because even w/o alcohol I think I very well may have gotten my moneys worth. Room fridge was stocked at all times with Pellegrino, juices, had cappucino deleivered every morning and evening before bed by the butler. I drank Pelligrino/Perrier all day every day/night/dinner, juices, smoothies, Cafe al Baccio I lost count how many times I went there. SO even if premium bev package was not inclided, I'd have to buy whatever the top level non-alcohol bev package is.
  10. Really not much they can do, just like at home, stay in bed, rest, take what we can to minimize symptoms etc. Your husband did the right thing by self isolating and was probably the same Celebrity would have advised as well.
  11. I just got off the Edge several weeks ago and while I do not drink, several slot players near me on a couple of different days, commented on how far and few between the cocktail severs appeared. I had not really noticed because I don't drink, but once they commented on it, it defintely was obvious.
  12. Indeed. As a recovering alcoholic we don't needs folks well intentioned or joking, suggesting what we drink in place of alcohol, we all know what our available options are. I know they have zero alcohol wine, they kindly left a bottle in my suite on a recent cruise, I never touched it. I also do not do "mocktails" nor do most folks I know who are in recovery, personally IMO, it defeats the purpose, but we each do us.
  13. Curious to know what ships you sailed on prior to Oceania and what made O so spcial for you guys? Mostly a Celebrity cruiser here, doing my first O in May 2-23, really looking forward to the smaller ship.
  14. The bow is the bow, no matter the ship. Personally I love the bow, and prefer higher up when I can get it, really love feeling the motion of the ship in my suite.
  15. May be old news to you, but obviously not to the OP, hence their reason for coming here to inform/ask about it.
  16. Sounds like a wonderful winery tour! Just be prepared that the weaving & carpet presentation is much more than a simple oh look what we can do presentation = hard sell, with no exit until the tour leaves
  17. me, I'm getting out the popcorn for the fallout! LOL. Me thinks they won't care about the PR, with the current pricing they are charging to cruise on their ships, people are obviously paying it by the THOUSAND$, so a $5 or $6 increase or "misunderstanding" on the internet, don't beleive they will be to worried.
  18. A 10 day Med cruise CS on Infinity in May 2023 is $24k, if that's not a hike and is the new "normal"...
  19. Edge has it, was on in Oct/Nov and it was certainly well attended.
