  1. Looking at the deck plans I noticed: There are no single cabins The Grill Lounge appears to have no windows. Is there a reason for no single cabins??
  2. Cunard air works very much the same as it would when you are booking directly with the airlines. Once your get your ticket numbers. you visit the airlines website and choose your seats. With Cunard air you can choose your class, economy, premium economy, business, or first. You can also choose the airline you prefer. Sometimes the fare can be better using Cunard's air. Especially true when you are not flying round trip.
  3. Regular buffet dinner is available. However the special alternative menu "Kings Court" venue for dinner is gone.
  4. The are some decent free weights and weight machines. A lot of the cardio equipment is broken, which was frustrating. The steam/sauna/thalassotherapy pool must be booked by appointment in advance. There are 2 hour time slots which can be reserved. The times start at 8:15am and end at 8:00pm This is to provide breaks for cleaning. Capacity is now limited.
  5. Sorry Dinner at Kings Court is gone, we tried to get it on Oct 25th crossing and were told it no longer offer. The menu remains on the My Voyage app which is just silly. Kings Court will have Corianders & La Piazza on alternating nights.
  6. Sometimes the bar staff will be able to help you by making your drink order 2 drinks. For example, when I was last in the grills my Hendriks martini was always $14.00. Depending upon which bar I was at some staff would charge my drink as 1 or in the commodore club they put my drink order as 2 drinks at $12.00 and have me sign for 2 drinks. I never had a problem getting my martini's.
  7. Friends who are on keto have been on Cunard with no problem. Just let your servers know you want to avoid breads or battered foods, etc. You'll have to ask a few more questions when ordering your food. Keto or Ketogenic diet is similar to Atkins. Low carb high protein.
  8. Cunard's website has information, however it's not clear about who will be the speakers on each voyage.
  9. Notice this too for the following cruise. Frustrating When I first saw the listing I do remember thinking there is NO WAY all of these speakers/entertainers will be onboard.
  10. Hi NancyDrew I'm another solo traveler for the crossing. There are usually quite a few solo travelers and you are bound to meet up with others See you onboard!! Bruce
  11. Will be arriving at the Mayflower Terminal next month. I was planning on taking a train into London. How easy is it to get from the terminal to the station? From Google maps it looks close by. Will there be taxi's available to take me or could I walk?
  12. There seems to be no order for the times assigned for check in. For example, travelling together Platinum member in cabin 2010 gets 1:45pm and Dimond member in cabin 2012 gets 2:30pm both booked with in weeks of each other. Any reason why???
  13. Effect Oct 1st Canada changed the COVID restrictions regarding testing and masking requirements.
  14. Don't worry there will be others onboard too!!! I know of 2 couples who will be travelling on that crossing.
  15. I would hope so too. Sad I won't be able to enjoy the space again. Just not up to going to the spa pool at 8am.
  16. I was so disappointed when I tired to book the thermal suite. There are only 3 times slots for my EB crossing and the times at 8:00am Does anyone know if there will be more bookings available onboard???
  17. I believe the late seating is no longer a fixed seating.
  18. Many years ago we purchases our "gently used" tuxedo's from a land based rental company. These were less then the cost of a new suit. Rental companies often have very large inventories which they change yearly. My partner managed to snag a brand new Calvin Klein notched tux Jacket for a fraction of the costs of a new one.
  19. QM2 has been offering it for 2nd(late) seating guests. From our travel documents here is what it says: Dine any time from 7.45pm, with last orders at 9.00pm. Reservations can be made daily on board. Table location and size are subject to availability and may vary by reservation. Guests may opt to dine with other guests, outside of their travelling party. Government guidelines on maximum numbers and household limits at the time of sailing apply.
  20. This morning we left the AMACerto docked in Basel. The captain expressed concern about the trip northbound and wasn't sure he would make it to Nuremburg with the low water between Mainz and Mannheim.
  21. Ludwigshafen / Mannheim continues to be a problem. We had to dock in Mannheim because the docks on Ludwigshafen side are dry or almost totally out of the water.
  22. Guten Morgen from the Rhine In the words of Annie Lennox "here comes the rain again" Currently raining. Sailing upstream to Mannheim just past Gerhsheim(marker 454 to be exact). Forecast is for rain all day. the water levels are still very low, getting into Rudesheim yesterday took a lot of effort by the captain!. We almost over to the docks in Binden to get around the shallow water Great news for future cruisers!!!! Bruce
