  1. As noted earlier, this policy has to do with the destinations. Bermuda and Canada haven't changed. So depending upon the county a cruise visited you may require the vaccination. For example, Luxembourg and France are stricter with entry requirements then England.
  2. I live in Canada, will I be able to use a printed test results from Shoppers?
  3. Skagway recently closed 2 piers because of rock slides. They are moving the railways boarding further away from the piers because of the risks.
  4. Book an evening cruise onboard a local excursion boat. The views are well worth it.
  5. Having twice experienced adjusted river cruises, my suggestion is take your money and run. Luggage outside your door at 7:30am isn't my idea of a vacation.
  6. Frequently. They've done this many times before. Sadly most of the hotels food is pretty bad compared with the dining rooms onboard. Banquet dining scrapped together.
  7. Amsterdam will be busy, but no different from any other major city on a weekend. There are a lot of European low cost carriers that fly to Schiphol and weekends so it does attract hen/stag dues. Beautiful city to explore.
  8. Strasbourg sounds similar to Vienna where the river cruise vessels are docked away from the historic city centre.
  9. We did an Avalon cruise about 6 years ago on the Danube and the water levels were low at Deggendorf. One night the captain told us we'd be passing the shallowest parts and that during the night we would be awaken by the sounds of rocks hitting the hull as we scrapped the bottom. We definitely scrapped the bottom several times. Wow was it loud, one very sleepless night mean the cruise would continue uninterrupted. Sounded like we were in a hail storm.
  10. Here is what AMAWaterways have on their site Sailings Impacted by Water Levels Our experienced teams are monitoring the situation in Europe very closely and no sailings have been suspended. Safety remains our top priority and we have alternative plans in place should the local authorities temporarily curtail river traffic on any portions of the Rhine or Danube rivers. These plans may include alternative docking locations, modified shore excursions as well as ship swaps, if necessary. As the water levels on the rivers can change quickly, we have a dedicated communications team in place to alert our guests and valued travel advisors of any modifications affecting their upcoming river cruise vacations and assist with any changes that may be required. Whatever itinerary our ships sail, our staff and crew around the globe remain dedicated to ensuring that our guests have the most enjoyable vacation possible.
  11. My point was to say that when you $$$$$ for a 'luxury' grill suite you shouldn't hassled to sign and then line up to fix someone else's mistakes!!!!! Silvesea, Regent and even Celebrity & Princess don't require passengers on packages to sign slips of paper every time they want a drink.
  12. the 'drinks package' are a limited time offer and are factored into the overall price of the suites. They are also a real pain, you must sign each chit. If the servers aren't careful the charge ends up on your bill and you have to see the concierge or wait in the queue at the pursers deck. Had to do that 4 time in 12 nights. You can purchase the package on Cunard's site.
  13. the upper Rhine north of Dusseldorf can be very industrial at many points.
