We were on the Edge in 2019 and again last month for a b2b cruise. We had a fantastic time both times. Loved everything about the ship including the 4 dining rooms. I'm not crazy about the IV but my wife likes it very much, so I won't argue about that. Every evening the martini bar was also very crowded, so it was always a challenge finding a place to sit. No big deal for us. We have an upcoming cruise on Beyond in Retreat so looking forward to that experience.

There is definitely something different with AA. We just booked tickets to Venice through FBC and also cannot choose seats. The flight is booked and operated by AA. I have status with AA but still can't book seats through the AA website. I called FBC today and they were able to access the seating chart and assign us seats.

Purplsmurf-You are correct. We were originally booked on the 2/12 sailing but got bumped because they chartered the ship for a Vacaya Cruise. We are now booked on the 2/5 cruise. No downtime scheduled for Reflection in February.

We met Sue while cruising on Azamara some years ago and had the pleasure of sailing with her on a few Celebrity cruises. She is very friendly, approachable and can be found everywhere on the ship. Don't know if she still does this but she was always on the gangway to welcome you aboard the ship and to bid you farewell at the end of the cruise. She also performs in her own show. We really like her.

twodjs-Thanks for the pics. That is pretty much how I remember it on Summit and Milly. I didn't look in the restroom area but I remember being able to see the lockers from the sauna. I loved the old setup...not so much the new since I felt like I was on display, lol. MN Cruiser Dude-You can see from the pics about how many the sauna can hold. In the past it was busy on sea days. Otherwise, late afternoon/early evening (before dinner) can be busy. Have a good time.

You are correct. Celebrity built additional cabins on Summit where the original men's changing area and sauna was. They moved the changing area to the port side with a smaller sauna that is fronted with glass overlooking the changing area. Not nearly as nice as the original sauna but at least it's free.

At my gym the guys always wear their shorts or underwear rather than a towel in the sauna...I just don't get it.

I checked us in last night for an upcoming October cruise and there was no mention of uploading vaccination cards. There were just questions regarding vaccination status and if we are boostered.

I believe I Ketut is a Balinese name and as part of the custom children are named based on the order of their birth. In this case the "I" indicates a male and "Ketut" would be the fourth child. So their are many crew from Bali that are named Putu, Made, Nyoman and Ketut. But who knows...he could be the I Ketut you're talking about 🙂.

We disembarked in Amsterdam a day early in April because I was tested positive the day before flying home. Now this was on a riverboat cruise, not an ocean cruise. But there were no authorities that controlled where and how long we had to isolate. Amsterdam has a "suggested" protocol for isolating (which is 5 days followed by 5 days of mask wearing) however you are responsible for taking care of yourself and others. As a result of our "extended" stay we chose our own hotel. The only thing that was dictated to us at the time was the airline telling us when we could fly home. We weren't happy about it but made the best of a tough situation.

The IV makes the room look a little bigger and provides an unobstructed view. However, I did not like the fact that when the window is open you are sitting there looking through two panes of glass. I found that annoying. And with me being 6' tall I found the area very cramped. I was always banging my arm on the side wall or the folding door. My wife has no issues with the IV since she's only 4'10". She loves it...I don't. Needless to say, we're on a B2B on Edge this fall in an IV. You can see who won that battle...lol.

In Select Dining you can always ask the host/hostess for a two top. You might have to wait if one is not available but it should never be a problem. The host/hostess sometimes will also note it in your record that you prefer a two top. Keep in mind though a lot of the two tops are very close together. The reservations are for your preferred time only. During a busy period you may see a line of people without reservations but if you have one there is usually another line and it goes much quicker.

My feet always flop off the corner of the bed but it doesn't impact my sleep. My wife, who is 4'11" obviously never has a problem 😏.

NCNina-My positive test was on 4/27 and arranged my appointment for 4/29. I was able to get it quicker because my symptoms actually appeared on 4/21. which was 8 days before the online appointment (I thought my allergies were acting up). I had no symptoms by the time I talked to her. She released me for travel as of 5/1. However, the airlines dictate when you can fly in which case they stated I couldn't fly until 10 full days AFTER the positive test which was on 5/8. Hope I didn't confuse you with all the dates.

That's a good point. I honestly don't think the airlines would know you tested positive because they are not notified by anyone else other then you if you're positive or not the day before flying. So I suppose, in theory, if you tested positive on day zero then negative on day 5 you would be good to go. However, in my case I had to rebook my flight (so you most likely would have to also) but because you would have tested positive how would you know when to rebook. I was cleared to fly by a doctor (with the Letter) and had no symptoms and not infectious by day 7 but I continued to test positive until day 12.

I agree with you. We just flew home from Amsterdam last Sunday. I tested positive for Covid the day before we were due to fly home, which was on 4/28. My symptoms, which were very mild and was only a stuffy nose, started on 4/22. I was evaluated and given a Certificate of Recovery letter and was cleared to fly as of 5/1. However, United Airlines would not allow me to fly home until 10 days after the positive result with the date of the test being day 0. So we couldn't fly out of Amsterdam until 5/8.

MDTrip-My symptoms (stuffy nose) started about 4 days before getting the positive result. I thought I had allergies because it was windy and, after all, it is spring. Anyway, I was able to move about since my symptoms had subsided but I had to wear a mask for 5 days. So I didn't have to quarantine and was able to get food myself by then. Keep in mind though that the airlines will not allow you fly for 10 days from the positive test (with the test date as day 0). CDC regulations states travel after 10 days from symptoms or 10 days from a positive test if no symptoms. So we had to book a hotel for 10 days and stayed at the Hilton Schiphol Airport. Excellent hotel, good food and very pleasant staff. The airport worked out best for us because by week 2 we were taking the train to outlying areas for the day and trying to make the best of the situation. We also had contacted friends from Germany who came to visit. If you would rather stay in Amsterdam Center I would recommend Banks Mansion. We've stayed there twice in the past and it was my second choice.

VitaminSea53- When I signed on to the website it provided me with dates and several times each day for the appointment. If I recall correctly there were appointments for the following day but I made mine for 2 days out. My DW just told me the letter came via email within 30 minutes after my appointment (which lasted all of 2 minutes). Also, appointments were generally in the evening (Europe time) since the doctors are located in the states. The cost was $75

We were recently stranded in Amsterdam due to me testing positive the day before our flight home. I contacted QuickMDdotcom (was recommended by our Rivercruise line) to arrange for a Certificate of Recovery letter. I did not have to provide my passport number and I received the letter via email within 12 hours of speaking to a doctor (doctor was located in California).
