  1. Cunard won’t refund you if you don’t sail you will need to claim off your travel insurance so if you thinking of cancelling best call them and ask what proof you need.
  2. Are you directly affected and awaiting compensation or just offering opinions ?
  3. The Maiden Voyage is sold out. Which voyage were you thinking of ?
  4. The The discount on my cruise is genuine it’s £600less than I paid in August . I could book in Britannia Club for the same cost as a mid aft balcony on Q A booking today, but that’s life I was happy with the price I signed up for. Booking early a year out is always going to run the risk of potential lower prices. My daughter also booked a QG cabin today on QV and definitely 10% cheaper than when she last looked a month ago . Whenever we check a cruise we screen shot the price so we can track any movement in prices. All cruise lines use dynamic or fluid pricing.
  5. I have done 3 fjord cruises and only ever used my card. As I pay no service/ transaction charges and the exchange rates are very favourable. I found I had no need for cash.
  6. Yes we have laughed about it . Not sure why it happened on this one occasion as they nearly always order chips with every meal as an extra and are annual QG guests so no strangers to the way it works. Seem to remember they were dining in the outside area so perhaps different waiters were serving.
  7. I have frequently asked for steak and chips if I don’t fancy anything and have always been brought them as other posters have said you can mix and match if the cheese soufflé ever appears a a vegetarian option I have that as a starter. My daughter always orders chips as an extra side with everything and was disappointed in in QG on her last cruise in May when she was brought a plate of crisps with her steak .
  8. Yes he was the first cabin steward that I have been disappointed in their attitude. He just did the bare minimum. Had to ask to have bed changed after 7 nights. His response he was going to do the next day but I said no I wanted today so no surprise he didn’t put himself out.
  9. No I tried. I gave up in the end and took it home. It was on 14 night T A so couldn’t even get one in port.
  10. Shares in U K today only just over £10 .
  11. Share price today just over£10. So £100 not going to be much over a £1000.
  12. No definitely wasn’t one, cabin steward unhelpful and bars wouldn’t lend me one.
  13. Post script to original one of the rose ‘s needed a corkscrew and had trouble borrowing one onboard ☹️
  14. The solo deals offered onboard would be no different from call centre/ T A agent. P&O solo deals are no worse than other lines. They charge 175 % for single occupancy whereas say Princess charge 200% and other lines more. There are special offers sometimes on cruises near to sailing with lots of availability. I don’t like the high supplement but I have two choices either pay and cruise or don’t go. I chose the former and accept that’s the price to me . I am sorry you had a bad experience of loyalty sales but I am I don’t think a couple would have had any more favourable experience.
  15. I always wrap mine in bubble wrap then waterproof sealed bag in centre of suitcase well padded with clothes. That is ex Southampton and so far so good.
  16. It is a requirement for U K passengers. As others have said you would still have to cover any charges or losses yourself if you didn’t have any insurance so to me it’s a no brainier.
  17. Carnival UK did the same with Arvia and named her later
  18. Amazing. How lovely. Wish I was on that cruise now.
  19. You notify Cunard before them beforehand and then there is no need to be repeatedly asked again the same question by the same waiters. I am always asked when booking if I have any allergies that Cunard need to be aware of. If I did have any allergies I would take on the responsibility of checking everybody who needed to know was aware and what provisions were in place myself and not wait to be asked.
  20. Announcing the Godmother I am thinking
  21. I always thought all P &O cruises had to be booked via U K agents anyway.
  22. Used them many times in the past never had a problem.
  23. I just wonder out of all the people wading in with such negativity on this topic are actually personally impacted by the choice of airline. Probably very few and the rest just like a bit of drama. I know nothing about airlines or how they work so am encouraged to read the comments on here from folk who still or have worked in the industry and seem to know what they are talking about as opposed to some who just seem to be oblivious to the current difficulties.
  24. Thank you for update. I am solo and only 65 but I do cruise several times a year so really benefit from only £40 supplement. I will wait see how much the add one on per cruise is. Does seem a better deal for older folk though.
  25. I did fjords on Britannia last year and loved it. I seem to remember fridge was cold enough to chill drinks so would keep fresh milk cold. If you bought some on departure day with long sell by date will last a few days.I have done it in the past but don’t think it lasted whole week. Take a small pair of scissors if you are allowed to use for opening up the UHT milk sachets they provide in the cabin. I always do. Tips is up to you. Very contentious. Some do tip cabin steward and waiters if have had fixed dining, others don’t. Just do whatever you feel comfortable with.
