  1. You have always been allowed to pay corkage. Didn’t used to be as much as $35 thought it was $25.
  2. Surely no one would book such an itinerary without comprehensive travel insurance.
  3. It’s not done by Cunard but by a third party who administer the scheme on their behalf. It depends on other people bidding up from their category who may release spots in categories that previously were fully booked.
  4. So annoying isn’t it? I have never bid on an upgrade for this reason.
  5. How exciting. You will certainly enjoy your balcony.
  6. A couple of months. Late September for a mid November sailing.
  7. Oh I assumed it would be like that here too as she was with her partner they did well as it was much cheaper than if she had upgraded at her booking quote.
  8. I am not sure why you have to put your card details in,when my daughter won her bid she had I think 72 hours to pay for it. They never took it off her card she had to either ring up or enter payment details. We just assumed it would be automatic.
  9. In UK the bid is per person but if you are solo you pay twice for example I was offered a minimum of £100 per person to upgrade from sheltered to standard but for me would have been 2 x 100 so £200 to upgrade not worth it As I said the solo penalty if you want t use they word is 100% not 75% as is normal for the ticket price. For solos it is not a good deal at all. You need to read the small print of the quoted is for one then you will pay double. Hope I am making sense. As a solo I have never bothered to bid. .
  10. If you are a solo you have to bid for two people you can’t just bid for one and the second one is 100% not 75% as for normal booking. Certainly that is the rule on U K bookings. My daughter recently won a minimum bid from forward inside to midship sheltered balcony on QM2 .
  11. I totally agree. Luckily I had just booked a 14 night TA for dates that worked for me. I would have been very underwhelmed if I had booked especially. To me it was just an added bonus to the usually entertainment offerings but certainly nothing to write home about.
  12. It is must that you have completed all accessibility and medical forms if appropriate. They are very hot on this.
  13. Would neither detract or enhance my experience whatsoever. I probably wouldn’t even notice.
  14. The 6 day crossings have been reduced from 7 because of the un availability of a berth in NY on the day she was due to arrive. They are not by design just a work round for a situation that arose this year hence none in 2025.
  15. I don’t know where you are all from but U K bookings can only be moved to cruises of a equal or greater value, you can upgrade but not down grade so you unfortunately without loosing your deposit and rebooking you could not down grade to Princess but your daughter could upgrade to QG. I don’t think as other posters have said you could not all regularly eat in Princess Grill.
  16. Sadly the risk of loosing a deposit and not being able cancel and rebook is the downside of a saver fare.
  17. Definitely. For example any treatment in the medical centre if needed would still have to be paid so insurance is a must as far as I am concerned.
  18. I think you should be fine. The railway is mins from the ship. Top tip I was given, going up try and get a seat on the right and then swop over to stay right to come back down. You need to queue at least 45 mins beforehand. I went in May last year and there was still so much snow
  19. Regent is not a Carnival brand. Regent is owned by NCL who are nothing to do with Carnival Corp/ Carnival UK. ( Seabourn is also in the Carnival Corp family along with P&O Australia and P& O Cruises)
  20. I just make sure I push them well under so no danger of catching them, unless you are on a very long cruise and have lots of luggage as others have said there is plenty of room. I always have single beds and have no problems even with the tub underneath one of the beds where the Steward stores the double duvet.
  21. I prefer to keep my cases with me as I store things in them I no longer need or had bought just in case. I find them fine under the bed or in the wardrobes.
  22. I haven’t seen cards for sale in the shops and not seen a Bible post COVID
