  1. I put a missed port claim in over the phone last Monday. By Thursday the money was in my account.
  2. Housekeeping, wait staff, laundry and galley. Not sure about kids zone staff.
  3. I do like the services. Last year I was onboard on Remembrance Sunday and it was a lovely service.
  4. I think the $80 trip is only for people returning to the ship. It was not available in August to book for disembarking guests. I think they offer a special excisions for guests transferring to JFK I did that excursion and you couldn’t have done it with your luggage as we went through fast track immigration with people on excursions.
  5. They do but I add a Nationwide credit card that does not charge any foreign transaction charges and offers very favourable exchange rates so makes no odds to me really. I think there are several cards now that do not charge fees or transaction charges. Bit of a bonus really as the dollar figure is less than the pound total on my statement so I always think I have paid less!!
  6. The internet benefit is currently worth having, the free lunch, the parties, priority boarding. I don’t drink much so drink prices don’t bother me Shareholder OBC covers what I do drink.
  7. Currently £15 the calendar and £7.50 the diary. 🚢😀
  8. Yes I agree. On the TA in August sometimes there was just a window at 11 45 for lunch in Kings Court then back again for 12 15. I also like the Art Talks to fit in too.
  9. I get the eye roll from my adult children with anything over 14 nights😂
  10. I have only ever sailed with P&O and Cunard and have no intention of sailing on other lines. Just does not interest me.
  11. I am probably going to need a yellow fever vaccine next year but I think will all this talk I shall just get the G P letter which will cheaper than the vaccine and just roll with that. I couldn’t be doing with all the back and forth. I don’t use a TA so don’t have the time to be sorting. It is a Cunard cruise but I am sure the rules will be the same and the folk on that phone lines will be the same. I would just worry too much I didn’t have exactly what was specified even though the alternative should be acceptable.
  12. Just come off QV and no problems I was aware off. Bounced about a bit in high winds in North Sea but that was due to the weather. I doubt also that a crew member would tell a guest something was broken ? Made good speed coming back as well due to extended stay in Rotterdam because of poor weather.
  13. I have just come off Queen Victoria and had some of the best meals in Britannia all year. Definitely had an edge on QM this year.
  14. I don’t doubt for one minute he is not licensed to do this but it seems P &O are requiring an exemption letter / certificate signed by a G P which may be what Port Health authorities require. I have noted your issues and will be prepared for my cruise next year.
  15. Just wondered was the exemption certificate signed by a doctor or other health care professional? Is it P &O are insisting on evidence signed by a doctor ? Which is why they want the G P letter ?
  16. Yes single occupancy of a suite costs the same as double occupancy. They are no single suites. You could spend time with them at other times but not meal times as you would be dining elsewhere.
  17. Not P and O but boarded Queen Victoria last week. I had early boarding and priority. They were checking boarding times and those who were early were asked to queue outside. They were then checked again inside and if you had slipped in too early you were directed to wait separately before going to check in. We all had to wait in the priority zone until boarding. Non priority were directed to wait in the seats on the other side of the barrier.
  18. I don’t know I suppose it’s just traditional. I always watch the programme and always have remembered them doing the birthdays. Card is generic. We have all had the same one at some time.
  19. I think it was a TA arranged recognition as providing free bubbles is definitely not a Cunard thing. They like my flowers would have to be paid for
  20. It is only mentioned in the morning briefing show that entertainment director does that is on the T V They only mention your name. They also do a separate list for crew. They didn’t ask my permission or that of my daughters who have both had birthdays onboard. Didn’t worry me as I don’t go by my legal first name anyway. I don’t really pay attention to the names so I doubt anyone else does.
  21. In other non suite grades you get a birthday card and mention on the daily show in the morning. All other treats etc have to be paid for in advance and I think you can only do over the phone. My daughters who were with me ordered flowers onboard which were delivered to my state room. I have seen other people take their own cakes. I have heard people on their tables sing happy birthday but as a family who keep themselves to themselves this is not something I would have wanted. Sorry if that’s disappointing but when you hear the number of birthdays read out each day you realise why there are generally outside of the Grills no free extras.
  22. I don’t think fireworks on departure from Southampton are done anymore but please someone correct me .
  23. The higher prices. Much more affordable now I am all for it. Prefer the new offerings especially at the prices I am paying.
  24. We don’t know where they source their supplies from or what they pay for it so without knowing that fact you can’t say they have marked it up.
