  1. I always take options and 18 for 14 seems a sensible ratio to me. Do the same for day dresses too. 🚢👗
  2. Yes in August too and I could see the lady at check in had a list of names who needed to needed to show their Esta. It’s my understanding you would have been denied boarding without being able to show it.
  3. Yes the food hall in West Quay is not too bad. Very convenient too for either terminal. I shop there weekly for food even the basics are superior quality.
  4. I don’t know how many of these I have filled out and have never spotted cream as an option. I always ask fo hot milk. I always have a coffee or hot chocolate every morning at 7 30 even if I don’t have any food.
  5. I park at West Quay for work and find it very satisfactory. There is CCTV and is always busy. It offers very cheap evening parking was £2 after 5 so very popular especially as it’s near so many restaurants and the cinema.
  6. I bought some iced coffee biscuits last year in Rotterdam from Heema. Hadn’t had them in years. Now trying to rack my brains to think what they were called and what was the brand ? Think they were rectangular with crispy biscuit base ?
  7. I would be tempted to bring your own as I am not sure if you will be able to buy exactly what you want in UK . I think you would have to try lots of different supermarkets / pound shops just on the off chance. You can buy mild pods but I don’t think they are very nice and quite cheap. I would stick to what you know and like.
  8. Taxi from West Quay probably about £8 . If I am sailing from Mayflower I drop my luggage of and then go and park at Town Quay ( Where Red Funnel and Red Jet go from ) and get a taxi back. It is anywhere between £8 - £10 depending on the traffic and if he can take a short cut through City/ Horizon entrance. Interesting fact last driver was telling me. The drivers who want to pick up from terminals have to pay extra every year to buy a special permit to be allowed to pick up form there. Just under £200 .
  9. I am in my 60’s so not sure how it’s relevant or am I too young to remember? I can remember cream often being an option served is small jugs but I have never heard it called half cream.Given how thin single cream is I would imagine half cream is not much thicker than full cream milk ? I don’t stay in hotels often and hadn’t noticed what was on the little pots if I ever saw them.
  10. I am not surprised they didn’t understand you as it’s not a term we would use here. Perhaps if you had just asked for cream ? As I said I have not personally seen cream available for coffee on QM2 but it might be available if you ask. I am sure you would get it on request in Grills restaurants / lounges.
  11. What is coffee cream ? In England we have Single Cream which is ideal for coffee. I have not seen cream on QM2 but I only travel in Britannia. Don’t think I have been offered cream with desserts either only with scones. Hopefully others may be able to help.
  12. I personally don’t . I would rather stick to Britannia and save the funds for another cruise. On QM2 one of the restaurants for Club is just a partitioned off part of the main restaurant . I am sure Club stalwarts will have plenty to say but I always have fixed 2nd sitting and table for one. I would eat late anyway so fo me especially as a solo the premium price is just not worth it.
  13. Yes I had 4088 was worried what the white space might be but it was just a run of normal cabins used by speakers and entertainers so they must be permanently off sale which is why they are blocked off.
  14. I not sure but it seems to be guests from North America getting them recently. Please correct me if this a false assumption.
  15. I think it’s very unlikely in the short dry dock spell every single speck of rust will be removed. If it is, it won’t be long before it’s back. I don’t feel my cruise is ever impacted by rust. I too will be in a sheltered balcony on November 16th and certainly won’t be on rust watch.
  16. Yes I was quoted £ 100 for 78 nights on Queen Victoria USA, South America and Caribbean. The other advantage is if you use your card abroad there are no fees per transaction. You get very advantageous exchange rates. I opened my account just for holidays. Just pay in enough each month to cover account fee then transfer money over when going cruising. You also get mobile phone insurance as well. I can confirm too there is definitely no monthly minimum pay in amount.
  17. I have never received one since the return to service. Travelled on all 3 ships.
  18. What has annoyed me about this whole thread is the insinuation that food poisoning was contracted after eating food prepared and served onboard. The first go to conclusion I was ill with stomach problems so must have been the …. I ate onboard. Let’s blame P&O without any substance. Don’t bother to contact medical centre. I accept for some people their cruise does not live up to their expectations and they seem to have a miserable experience but please don’t lay the blame for serious issues without any substance other than your personal thoughts at P & O ‘s door.
  19. I can concur . They checked my ESTA at embarkation. They had a paper list they were checking names against . The online application result was back in a few hours. Can’t remember cost but it was under 25 $ Lasts 2 years I think. I got mine several months in advance and took the printed copy with me. When I went through immigration in NY he said he didn’t need to see it as it was recorded against my passport . I was only in transit too and just spent a few hours on a Cunard excursion.
  20. Oh well that is a recent reduction then. I know it’s definitely still 75% for Cunard as I have several bookings in hand and looking at the newly released ones they were still quoting 75% Must have a look then.
  21. Solos pay a 75% additional premium. The headline prices are per person but based on two sharing. If it's just for one as the price is at 175%. The same for Cunard. It’s better than some lines charge. Princess for example is 200% Some ships do have single cabins but they are not always cheaper. Sometimes it only costs a bit more to have a bigger one all to yourself. That’s what I usually do. Hope this helps. Annoying or what but sadly that’s just the way it is.
  22. I don’t think you will be able to specify a particular table at a particular time on Freedom on a regular basis.
  23. It’s a shame the OP didn’t consult with Medical Centre as all guests are advised to do if they become unwell. After all this is what insurance is for. If you don’t agree with excess on policy or want to pay it find another one that you are happy with.
