  1. Sorry, I'm not understanding...there are no schedules for Riviera yet as far as I know (just 2023 and 2024). I read your comments to mean that the Riviera would need to tender more that Regatta. If that is what you are saying, I don't understand why. I fully understand the "O has lower priority" statement which is why I wish they'd stick with less popular/smaller ports even if they have fewer services.
  2. Most of Regatta's June/July 2023 assignments in Juneau involve tendering; August has more non-tender assignments. Just curious, why would Riviera cause more tendering? (referencing claalaska.com)
  3. I have speculated that Riviera may be taking over the Alaska runs. Take a look at the farthest out Regatta and Riviera itineraries to see why I think this may happen. I would love Riviera on the west coast routes, especially if she can still go to the smaller ports.
  4. Yes, you can use OBC. Here is a recent price list (post #15):
  5. Having never cruised on anything but O, lanyards = conference = work. Please don't remind me of work πŸ˜‰
  6. You can buy "Bon Voyage Gifts" OBC for them..."Surprise your friends, family members or spouse with a special gift! We’ll deliver your choice of gifts to the recipient’s stateroom along with a personalized message." Besides flowers, wine, liquor, etc. There is shipboard credit. https://www.oceaniacruises.com/sites/default/files/2022-12/bon-voyage-gifts.pdf
  7. Which type of cabin will you book? The smaller R-ships have tiny bathrooms unless you book a penthouse or above. We don't care but many people find them unacceptable. There are tons of Youtube videos that show the different ships and suites (limit it to the past year or so to get current videos). The R-ships are Regatta, Insignia, Nautica, and Sirena. The larger O-ships are Marina and Riviera (plus there are new A-ships that haven't sailed yet). You can book cruise-only and skip air and/or O-life (the pick one perk choice). It can be added later (before final payment I think) if you want it. If you get O-Life, don't choose the OBC. You pay $300 to get $300 non-refundable OBC. If you want pre-paid OBC, buy yourself "gift" OBC which is refundable.
  8. You can see a sample schedule from a recent Riviera cruise in post #115 (scroll past the booze πŸ˜‰ ). The fitness classes will depend on the instructor on the ship. In September on Regatta there were no classes.
  9. ...and there is just something really fun about ordering cocktails from the bartender and chatting with the people on neighboring bar stools. 🍸Sla'inte!
  10. Hmpph, drink of the day may have seen the hatchet due to the new items/events. I'll survive, and maybe we'll have enough capacity left to finally make a cognac or whisky tasting event after dinner.
  11. We don't drink nearly enough to justify a package, plus I value flexibility more than $$. Two drinks before dinner and I'll call it good!
  12. Excellent! It gets rid of the confusion about what is included. At least I got the times/locations correct πŸ˜‰
  13. Oh, right, I forgot about that. Do you have a Currents from this month's cruise with a Happy Hour "ad"? If so, can you post a pic? I was going off of my September Currents, and things have obviously changed.
  14. The two drinks must be the same. Horizon's and Martinis are designated (although I believe the Grand Bar on Riviera was sometimes listed...maybe when Horizon's was being used for something else?). Often 5-6 pm and 10:30-11:30pm (Horizons only). Only items on the Bar Menu excluding single malt scotches and XOs. There is also the Drink of the Day (~half price) all day and sometimes a wine of the day (although I don't think I saw any on our September cruise).
  15. I have not seen Happy Hour on embarkation day (2 cruises last year), and believe me, I looked πŸ˜‰
  16. You can see recent bar menus at this link:
  17. Yes, although you can also buy bottles. For prices see: Yes if you have the House package. Maybe if you have the Prestige package (some things like high end whisky are not included)
  18. There is the House and the Prestige package. Go to https://www.oceaniacruises.com/value and scroll down to Beveridge Packages then click on it. Yes, you can upgrade from the O-Life House amenity to Prestige. Costs are in the link above. You may also find the following topic useful:
  19. Ohhhhh. I tried to use Canadian pennies when we crossed the border for my dad's concert a few years ago and got a big laugh. 😳
  20. I think you are saying the same thing as FF. FF is saying to do your own air plans. By the way, $750 per stateroom is an odd O-Life value. It's usually $400, $600, $800. I'm not saying it doesn't exist....just haven't seen it before.
  21. I swear I saw one recently on CC with the beds down, but while I can usually bend search engines to my will, CC often evades my best boolean.
  22. Here is a link that contains an ancient (last decade πŸ˜‰ ) photo. https://boards.cruisecritic.co.uk/topic/2269754-pullman-bed-in-inside-cabin/
  23. I want to ride while it's being lowered 😊wheeee!
  24. Call me a nube (cuz I am one), but I'm looking forward to my first muster drill! Now if I can just get them to let me ride in the lifeboat while the crew are doing their drill, my life will be complete. πŸ™‚
