  1. You will love it! I hope you have a great cruise next year.
  2. It was amazing! I’m sure I took way too many pictures but that’s ok. Fantastic experience. Thank you! We are having the best time! It’s our first on Carnival and definitely won’t be the last. I’m already looking for another. That’s awesome! We saw the Dream yesterday morning as you were coming in and again as we were leaving. I hope you are having a great trip.
  3. These are great! I’m on the Legend right now and it’s cool to see this. Thanks for posting these.
  4. Reykjavik Excursions, Reykjavik Sightseeing, and Grayline are the companies I've done tours with. All of them were good and they all offer the same tours. I first went to Iceland 25 years ago and our tours were through Reykjavik Excursions. I think they've been in business more than 50 years. There is a hop-on/hop-off bus that does a route around Reykjavik. The last time I was in Iceland we bought the tickets online right before we got on. That was recommended to us by our hotel as it was the day before 2022's Culture Night and the city was packed. Normally you can buy them online or on the bus.
  5. Yes, that's also been my experience. Every spa I've been to (land and sea) has required this type of questionnaire for the reasons you stated.
  6. Probably. People being fans hasn't really changed. Fan clubs for bands, and other interests, have been around for a long time. What's changed is accessibility. It's easier to find these groups and there's more opportunities to do so. The Beatles had movies, a cartoon, and a lot of merchandise back then so I could definitely see a cruise, if that had been more of a thing then. And from the artists' end, it's also a business - a way to advertise and to sell merchandise. What is now San Diego's Comic-Con started in 1970. Today there's fan conventions and other events, like cruises, for pretty much every interest. I like a few of Taylor Swift's songs but I generally gravitate more to metal and hard rock. Our hockey team had a Taylor Swift night this year and it was very well attended. They played her music and had a friendship bracelet making station and some other themed activities. A lot of little girls came dressed like her. It was nice and people really enjoyed it. I would imagine these cruises would be something like that.
  7. *shrug* This is pretty standard when you go to a spa on land, too. I've been getting bimonthly massages at the same place for years, so I don't have to fill anything out each time, but every time they do review my record and 1) ask me if anything has changed in my medical situation and 2) ask if they still have consent to massage.
  8. Yes, the excursion can sell out while it's in your cart. It's not actually on hold or reserved, it's just in your cart. If it sells out, you'll still see it in your cart but it will show as unavailable as it's sold out. If you are concerned about a sold out excursion, you could always book it now and then cancel it if you need to change your plans. Prior to the cruise, excursions are easy to cancel and rebook in the cruise planner. If you pay with OBC and cancel the excursion, it becomes available again almost immediately so you are then able to book a different one (or rebook the same one of the price goes down.) If it's a credit card, it will go back to the card.
  9. I can't speak for the Famous Home and Hideaways tour but we've done the Glass Bottom Boat multiple times during the daytime, at sunset, and at night. The tour will take you out to the Vixen, which is a shipwreck. We've always seen a lot of fish. The types of fish depend on the time of day. You will also be able to see parts of the shipwreck and plenty of corals in the reef. It's also a pretty ride out to the Vixen.
  10. I would assume this has been forbidden for a very long time due to security and liability issues. And rightfully so. It's interesting to look back at changes in travel. I never did this but it seems weird now to think about how kids used to be able to visit the cockpit of an airplane at one time. That's not something you'd even think about now.
  11. Yes, this was definitely on their off time and not on an official cruise line tour or anything close to that. It was more like hanging out as friends. It was interesting talking about our different backgrounds and experiences and hearing and seeing what it was like to live and work on the sea. That was decades ago but it always gave me an extra appreciation for how hard the crew work and an understanding of how much time they spend away from their families.
  12. On my first two cruises my friend and I spent quite a bit of time with the crew, including in their areas.
  13. I think they have a glitch with the OBC e-mails for reservations which were moved. I moved a reservation for a Canada cruise, which sailed in October, to a Bermuda one, which sailed in July. I felt like doing something warmer this year. I paid a small fee but the same reservation number and OBC was kept. A week before the originally scheduled October cruise was to leave, I received this same e-mail telling me that I might have OBC for the 10/2 cruise. That OBC was long spent in July. But it was the same reservation number so it's some glitch. We wound up taking a last minute Canada cruise with Princess during that same week anyway so everything worked out great.
  14. Yes, I'm seeing it too, and our cruise isn't until next December. I do see there's a "Holiday Flash Sale" advertised in the planner so I wonder if its implementation is messing something up. Everything is still listed correctly in the order history.
  15. Gotcha! That is a good question. The ones we did were in Fort Lauderdale in 2021 and both times we were dropped off at the airport around 1:00 pm. The first time our flight was after 5:00 pm so I hear you on the long wait.
  16. Someone here may have taken one of the excursions and may possibly be able to answer some of the questions, if you're comfortable asking them.
  17. How fun! 1. 1st Concert: Def Leppard - Hysteria tour 2. Last Concert: Meshuggah/In Flames/Whitechapel 3. Worst: The whole concert wasn't bad, as their openers were good, but Shinedown was the worst band I've seen. Their singer talked way too much in between every song which was boring and totally killed the vibe. That was in 2010 and I still have no interest in them. 4. Loudest Concert: Motorhead - they weren't exaggerating when they called themselves the world's loudest band. 5. Best Concert: This is hard. My favorite band to see live is Lamb of God but if I had to pick a best show I might pick Murderdolls/Rob Zombie/Alice Cooper. 6. Seen The Most: Chevelle 7. Most Surprising: KISS - I always just kind of liked a few of their songs but had no real interest in them. Their live show was absolutely incredible and I loved every minute. 8. Next Concert: Nothing planned right now but we're always looking to see what's announced 9. Wish I Could Have Seen: Maybe Van Halen during the 5150 tour?
  18. I’ve seen this in the Sky Lounge and on those couches in Cellar Masters. I don’t get bent out of shape about people’s clothes or footwear but bare feet on shared chairs in public places is crass.
  19. Mine, too. But we don’t spend much time in our stateroom and this past July we realized just how little time we actually spend there. So this will be the question on our next cruise. Is Blu worth it enough to keep booking Aqua?
  20. No, the cruise price has nothing to do with FBC. You can book flights with them at the time of booking or afterwards. Any time I’ve used them I’m given the option to pay for the flight now or at the time the final cruise payment is due. If that option is chosen, it’s added to the total due. Just speaking for myself, since we book online or onboard directly with Celebrity, I always add the final payment date to two calendars, with reminders set two weeks in advance. Everyone gets busy and has a lot going on so I like to have this reminder set.
  21. There was a television in our stateroom on my first cruise back in 1992. I have no idea what entertainment it offered as we never turned it on. It had a tiny screen and was in a cabinet in the dresser between the beds.
  22. Good call. Celebrity does have messaging through the app.
