  1. We took that cruise last year and I can't really remember having any issues with smoke, except smelling it when walking through the casino. We also don't care to be around smoke and are used to no smoking in the casinos on Celebrity but that cruise had five ports so having casino time wasn't a high priority for us. Other than the casino, I just don't remember smelling it too much. We enjoyed that cruise so much we're doing it again this year! If you take it, I hope you will enjoy it!
  2. I also bought the jewelry at the tender dock in Qaqortoq - lovely beaded earrings and a necklace and also a pair of delicate carved bone earrings.
  3. I can only speak for Qaqortoq. We used credit cards in a shop which sold tourist items like t-shirts. I also bought hand made beaded jewelry from an artisan and paid with US cash.
  4. I'm glad you had a fantastic time! My in-laws took this same cruise in January for their anniversary and also loved it.
  5. Unfortunately I don't think you are doing anything wrong. I think in a previous version of Celebrity's site, they would show the prices of the categories right on the picture of the cruise, because I remember just changing the dates and being able to see all of the prices listed. Now they just show the lowest price and you need to click to see all categories. Like you said, it's 2-3 more clicks for each one. I liked the older version better, but that's me. It was nice to see at a glance. It would be nice to at least have category as a search filter.
  6. I was called to Federal jury duty a few years ago and you weren't allowed to have your phones while in the courtroom so bringing physical reading material is probably a great idea even today.
  7. I guess everyone's experiences vary but I've always thought booking online was really easy and all the options were clear. But I like to read everything and there's no way I would decide to skip an entire page of the booking process, especially one titled Customize Your Trip. First of all it's just part of the booking process so it's not like it's out of your way to go there. And secondly, why wouldn't I want to customize my trip? Everyone likes options. But that's just my experience with the site.
  8. I agree with this. Baltimore was so easy to cruise out of. Seriously, the ship is literally next to the parking lot. Plus we paid the same in Baltimore for a 14 day cruise ($210) as we did for a 7 day out of Bayonne. We'll definitely be cruising from there again. Bermuda and Bahamas have already been suggested. You would also be able to do a Canada/New England cruise from Baltimore or one of the NY ports.
  9. Yeah, I'm not sure if I'd like this or not. I think part of me would like the kind of private patio area but yet I think I would feel like it was less private as I'd probably want to keep the curtains to our cabin drawn. I think I'd probably be less likely to book this type of stateroom than a regular balcony but maybe would try it if was a great price.
  10. Gotcha! Thank you for clarifying. That makes a lot of sense. The other thing didn't and that's why I figured I wasn't reading it clearly. I also want to apologize to OP for misreading that.
  11. Are you dashing to reserve chairs in the morning that you don't even use until the afternoon? Like you have chairs reserved on the ship while you do things in port? I hope I'm misreading and that's not what you mean.
  12. I would think this is on your travel agent. Your travel agent should have told you if you were booking with a refundable or non-refundable deposit during your booking process and it sounds as if this did not occur. I've always booked directly with Celebrity, either on the ship or online. One of the items I need to address when booking online is whether or not I'd like a refundable deposit. This is addressed prior to the total payment, on the same screen as adding cruise care, dining, and gratuities.
  13. If the time is changed to 1:00 pm, your tour will likely be meeting on shore rather than on the ship so you shouldn't need to do the tender back and forth all those times. It's generally only the early shore excursions which require the meeting times on ship so you can be escorted to the first tenders. Any excursion I've done in the afternoon in a tender port has had us meet on shore. Early morning excursions meet on ship and they escort you to one of the first tenders. But by the afternoon, they figure you've already gone ashore or should have had plenty of time to get a tender ashore.
  14. We were on Grand Turk last month with the Carnival Legend. We didn't rent a golf cart so I can't speak to that but I can say that the island felt really safe and we really enjoyed our time there. For shopping and eating - US dollars is the official currency of Turks & Caicos. We used both cash and card there.
  15. Yes. It's just the two of you in the same room, each getting a separate massage. Depending on the prices, it could be. My husband and I usually just book separate massages, although we have had couples massages. That's no problem. You'd each be able to get the pressure you want. You'll be asked as part of the introduction.
  16. I believe that you may need to call for the 25% off. We get 30% and last year I remember receiving an e-mail stating that I needed to call to get that discount. Even after you purchase, you can always keep an eye on the cruise planner in case there's a sale. This past Black Friday the wifi upgrade was on sale for 50% off so I bought then. If it goes on sale for better than 25% off, you can cancel and rebuy.
  17. Is this the Iceland/Greenland cruise? We did this cruise on the Summit in Aqua on deck 11, which is the top deck on the Summit but not on the Eclipse. We had excellent views from our cabin for going into Akureyri and Isafjordur. If you are able to go through Prins Christian Sund, which hopefully you will be able, you will most likely want to spend some time on deck to see the views all around you, in addition to viewing from your cabin. I've not had a sunset cabin but the views of Prins Christian Sund looking from the front of the ship and the back of the ship are amazing so that might be a consideration.
  18. We saw these offered on the Legend last month. We were just getting quick slices so just took pepperoni which was already ready. But I would definitely try both of those.
  19. He was on the Legend for our January 14 cruise.
  20. Me too. Our trip isn't until the fall, and not fully paid, but I've already booked the MDR through the app for every night. This is our second time with Princess.
  21. It was booked through the ship. They had two different tours offered. The one we took was a small group with six people on an enclosed boat, but you could go out to the front or back to take better photos. The other was on a rigid inflatable boat. I heard that one also had really good views. I'm sorry that you got that response. Maybe the ship will add some as you get closer? There wasn't a big variety of tours offered on ours but they did repeat them during the day. I think the Viking ruins had a tour leaving every half hour.
